Many customers do not like their information being collected by big companies due to several reasons. For example: Dunkin Donuts counts every customer by transaction and purchases after those people leave they are being categories by race, income and age without knowing. Once a customer completes the survey online they give all of that information away without thinking about being categorized. Many customers also give up their information when registering for the DD perks card which ask for a lot of personal info before you can receive the big discounts on coffee or coupons. Many customers don’t like companies knowing their income or age because of the categorizing that takes place and plus it’s very personal. Customers whom are enrolled probably have no clue that their information is being collected but I’m sure they become curious when asked so many questions prior to enrolling. This is very intrusive to the consumer because a lot of the people are unaware of the data being collected. This data also collects what stores draw the most people near highway or counter only stores. People use to always say big brother is watching and it seems to be true because these companies know your move by location, Occupation and residence.
