Technology has a huge influence on the American culture and American society. Over the past couple years technology has made a big impact on everyone's lives, whether they realize it or not. Anywhere you go or anything you do you will come in contact with technology. The Doctors office, The Dentists office, The Grocery store, your workplace, School, Restaurants would all be a completely different place without technology. I think the piece of technology that has the biggest impact on everyone's lives would probably be a computer or a laptop. In my life a laptop has played a big role in my life these past couple of years in school and during my education.

We can all attest to the fact that technology has made our lives better in numerous ways. We have the ability to communicate with people in different countries with the use of a cell phone. We are able to communicate with our loved ones via Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat etc... People are living longer because technology continues to advance, and the more it advances, the more we find answers and cures to diseases. Senior citizens are living longer which enables them to see their family develop. Technology has also increased the speed in which we receive and find information. Technology has molded the way I go about my daily life. In my youth, I was drawn to computers like a magnet as early as one year old. When I was young, my dad programmed our old computer to play a clip of my voice saying, “Good Job!”whenever the computer was turned on. I thought it was fascinating that he was able to make my voice somehow project from the computer. Later in life, after I received my first personal laptop from my parents as a gift, I became captivated by the components of computers and the process that took place in building them as well.

As the world enters a new era of technological progression and evolution, the popularity and use of technology for entertainment and more practical uses has skyrocketed. I have been alive long enough to observe some of the changes taking place. Some of these changes include including nearly everyone in high school texting on smartphone, so many people are choosing to talk over the internet rather than in person. We are truly in an age of technology, a sort of future imagined by those before us, where people keep their calendars on their phones and do work on tablets and computers instead of sheets of paper, and can video chat with anyone anywhere around the globe. Technology is now a huge part of our community socially and actually all around the world and is not going away anytime soon. 100 years ago we had to travel on horseback or walk, delivery of mail would take ages to get to its destination but now in our time we can order something online like amazon or ebay and it can be at my doorstep before 8pm. This is amazing how generation has advanced our civilization. Technology has infiltrated almost all fields in some shape or form. Genetically modified foods also known as GMOs. This invention has allowed crops so survive the harshest conditions, made vegetables/fruits grow in all seasons and increase their mass. This has allowed food to be mass produced for our exponentially increasing population.

Understanding of the big role technology has in our society is important. It is a part of our culture and daily life.

To a copious amount of people, globalization is only prevalent in a country’s economy. Although economies are affected, this is not the only component of a country that can be changed. A country’s government, for example, is vulnerable to change due to an increasing amount of globalization. Many times, the countries that are most affected do not have democratic means of government. The introduction of state-of-art technology and western corporations allows citizens in non-democratic states to gain new information. This gives them both the needed communication and resources to gain political freedom, and crawl out from underneath political tyrants.

Technology change can be either incremental continuum or breakthrough disruption. It can be a smooth transition or in pulses. When financial ledgers became computerized, it signified an incremental change in the existing procedure. But when we talk about concepts like AI or driverless cars, we think about something that is going to change the way we operate in our day to day life, something that no one had imagined before. While incremental change improves the quality of product and services, enhances the customer experience, a breakthrough disruption can radically change the way business operates and customers behave.

Technology has played a large role in my life. Ever since I can remember my household has had a television. A television was a huge technological accomplishment in our world; It was amazing to be able to see images on a screen that tell a story. The television is a type of entertainment, but it has been around for many years. When will something new come about? Another example of technology in my life is phones. Phones also have been around for a while but we, as a society began, to innovate and make phones smaller and more portable. This is innovation and advancement, however back in the 1960s people were able to contact each other through phones but they were not as mobile, compact, or prevalent. My point is technology has not had great advancement since the 20th century. I want to be able to tell my kids, when I have some, We used to never be able to do this or we did not have technology this.

Technology is intended to improve our lives and since the dawn of man progress continues to take shape. We consider technological advances as modern conveniences, and in many respects they improve our lives. The consideration is how to use and integrate these advancements effectively into life. Consider the evolution of the Smartphone and it unknown long-term effects on society. For example, people born after 1995 have virtually grown up with the Smartphone technology and they are affecting an entire generation often referred to as the iGeneration. While progress is good in many ways, the costs are revealed as time passes. Teenagers do not understand a world without technology, in particular, smartphones and their effects on their socialization, mental health, and physical health. Smartphones quite possibly could be making the “iGeneration” less smart and less fulfilled.

In today 's progressing world, technology has become greatly increased in everything the exist. From toys to surgery technology advancement has made tremendous impacts to the world. Robotic surgery is a mechanism that performs surgery using a robotic hand holding a medical tool. In the medical field, there is a controversy of whether robotic surgery is an acceptable way to perform surgery without an in person surgeon. Technology in medicine has improved mechanisms of patient care, surgery techniques, and has made more resources available for the preventions of diseases and illnesses. Jacques Ellul once quoted, “Modern technology has become a total phenomenon for civilization, the defining force of a new social order in which an efficiency is no longer an option but a necessity imposed on all human activity.” How many lives have been saved since the technology for health situations was invented? This question should give a general  idea of how important and different lives would be without the use of technology. Mechanization has changed and improved throughout these past years, which has impacted many of society's lives’. Modern technology is beneficial to save many lives, improve education, but could be harmful to the planet and on the living in many ways.

Life is getting more and more complex as technology progresses and most people are likely to agree. However, what if the truth was that it is actually getting simpler as people replace ideas they previously thought to be indispensable with technologic devices that assist them in going through the day without having to focus on particular matters. The smartphone has become one of the most important devices in recent years, taking into account that it is the last device that many people use before going to sleep and that it is also the first devices that people use when they wake up.
