Throughout the course, something emphasized continuously is that a conditioned response is always weaker than an unconditioned response, permitting a stronger connection of how mammals interaction and communication enable them to think and behave in a selective manner. Moreover, an unconditioned response helps to absorb the energy needed for a better sense of risk and ambiguous action. This potentially assist mammals to wield and receive messages, avoid fake stimuli, and enables them to be capable of better use of their brain, cerebellum and central nervous system to better protect themselves from environmental woes and use remarkable ways to better understand their surroundings, response and capabilities.

Today, we know that the subdivision of the neocortex into these four lobes is common to all mammals, although the appearance and relative sizes of the lobes varies considerably across mammalian species. Collectively, some human-beings, like their cellular structure, communicate with tens of thousands of others. But, do not communicate randomly or by chance. Instead, they communicate selectively. Through this unique communication the formation of networks that attend to form social interaction or bonds, which is beneficial for physical and mental health.
Interestingly, in chapter 2 of the course material much of the information goes into great-detail regarding the similarities between humans, mammals and neurons, presenting intriguing research concerning the role of white and grey neurons, and the importance of resilience and structure. These enlightening factors, reminded me of the many paradoxes of eukaryotes and prokaryotes, some of which are not always up-right, but most certainly involved in everyday life.

“It takes a village to raise a child.” I never quite understood that saying when I was growing up, but my experiences teaching and working in school settings have showed me how true it really is. Obtaining a degree in school psychology will allow me to give the support that students, families and educators need to ensure that every student will thrive.
Psychology can be applied to everyday life in many ways. The three main ways Psychology applies to my life is through motivation and emotion, Stress and health and Psychological therapies. These topics of psychology are the ones that best describe my life. When most people think of psychology they think of therapists and psychological disorders. I am sending an email in response to the question you posed in the videos. I am starting my third year in the Ph.D school psychology program. I switched from the Ed.S program to the Ph.D program this fall. I am not certain why I chose school psychology. My bacholers is in Political Science and Psychology. I always thought I was going to go to law school, I even took the LSAT. While I was applying for law schools, I decided the career may not make me happy, so I found school psychology. I also saw a lot of unemployed laweyers when I was applying for law school. I want to work with any population. My practcum last year was at an elementary, middle school, and high school. Although animals act on many impulses and mechanisms, many animals have proven that they have the ability to adapt and survive, showing that they have the ability to think of when they are ill, or feel pain. Animals have the ability to survive illness and changing environments. If animals only acted on mechanism, then they would exacerbate illness causing their demise, or they would fail to adapt to the changing environments, causing them to become extinct. The survival of species throughout years, proves that animals do not just act on mechanism, but also have a mind that is “tightly jointed”.
The field of psychology is steadily expanding due to the progression in technology, which is being driven by the advancement of civilization. More and more time is spent on the internet, which has gradually altered the method in which primary communication takes place. Previously face-to-face interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan, 2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet, psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. The first method utilized by mental health professionals is traditionally counseling and if those efforts fail, then the potential exists for adolescents to be placed on medications.

In the brain there is a threefold structure theory, that explains our feelings, acts of survival, and higher thinking; each of which is found in the human brain. The earliest structure that is part of the Triune Brain Theory called “reptilian brain” concerns the idea that our most basics needs of survival (Brehove 10). Next the paleomammalian complex is the intermediate part of the brain that allows for emotion, motivation, and pleasure, which all impact the a organism characteristic behavior (Brehove 11).
