As teenagers are leaving their homes, cities, and in many cases, states, to attend colleges, driving has become an integral part in a teen’s life. However, many states are putting heavy restrictions on teen drivers to keep not only them safe, but the rest of the community as well. But that has not been enough- teen drivers still are a major problem on the road due partly to their lack of mental development. This has pushed some states to consider raising minimum driving age, eliminating the whole problem of inexperience in drivers. The minimum age should not raised, however, because it will not help the issue of road safety.
When I heard that the minimum driving age was going to raise, my little brother screamed running into the bathroom to turn on the shower to cold. While the whole time I was watching him and laughing my behind off but inside I was feeling sorry for him. The driving age should not be raised, because students who are younger and learning to drive will stop learning to drive since the age has risen even when they were so closed to their goal. Instead the students will not learn then that would lead to drive without a driving licence and permit.
The minimum driving age should not be raised or lowered. In Illinois, for example, the driving age is 16 years old. At a first glance, it seems better to wait until teens are older to begin driving. However, it is apparent that no matter what age a person starts driving, it is up to the driver to determine how safely he or she will drive. It would be pointless to raise the driving age for many reasons. The 16-year-old requirement to receive a driver's license is a standard and common rule. All but a few states use this standard. The driving age should be 16 because accidents happen to everyone, 16-year-olds should learn responsibility, 16-year-olds are not the only immature humans, and 16-year-olds have good mental development.
I think that the age should stay the same because we teenagers are responsible enough to drive, we all don’t speed. We have taken a class on how to drive, we have taken a test to get our learners proving that we know what the laws are, and we have driven with a Driving educator that says we are ready to go our own too. The parents have the right to take the license away from the teenager until there are 18 if necessary if they feel the need to. The driving age should stay the same because we are responsible enough; we need a dependable way to get to work, we proven ourselves worthy enough.
The driving age should be lowered to 14 or 15 years old because people should know how to drive a vehicle by then.People need the experience it will improve their driving skills before they get older and it will make it easier for tennagers to get to school and to their job because it will make them understand responsibility.
The driving age should be raised because the most likely ages to be involved in an accident are between sixteen and nineteen. The younger the teenager is the higher risk a person is to be in a crash. The reason for this is because of not being mature enough or not a lot of practice. “Those who are most at risk are males, teen driving with teen passengers, and newly license teens” stated National Graduated Driver Licensing. Males usually have a higher risk to be in a crash because they are not mature enough and want to show off to all the girls. They sometimes don’t like to wear seatbelts and when they get into a crash, they won’t survive the
I don’t think that they should raise the driving age to eighteen. I don’t think they should because it’s not fair. Just like the passage said it’s not going to stop the crashes. I think people should go through the Graduated Licensing Program. It’s a more advanced program and it allows people to be more prepared for driving. It teaches them the consequences and how dangerous it is.
The big debate as to whether the legal driving age should be raised to eighteen is an ongoing issue. There are both arguments for and against this matter. Younger drivers, as well as old ones, can cause many life-threatening accidents; therefore, raising the minimum driving age could significantly reduce the number of accidents. The accident rates can be lowered considerably if the legal driving age is bumped up to eighteen. This would mean that no more kids could get hurt or worse, killed in a car accident.
Due to state safety concerns many states have raised the minimum legal age to drive. The state of Virginia, which is where I live, is now thinking of doing the same. This state should be looked at with careful consideration. The state of Virginia will look at all reasons why it should not be raised before coming to a conclusion. The driving age should not be raised because it would be much harder to get a job, having another driver in a large family can help with day to day tasks, and social freedom and growing up.
Fifty-eight percent of sixteen year olds are more likely to have an accident in their first year of driving.Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. The age limit for driving should be raised from sixteen to eighteen because sixteen year olds are more likely to be immature and a change in age limit would lead to much safer roads.
CRASH! as two cars gets into an car accident killing an elderly woman while a teenage who is responsible behind the wheel drunk after coming from a party that his friend was having. Because, of safety concerns many states have increased the age at which teens can began to drive. Your state legislature is considering raising the minimum driving age from 16 to 18. Do you think the driving age should be raised?. Some think that the driving age shouldn't be raise because, that would give teenagers the opportunity to have more experience in driving as they get older. Others think the state should raise the driving age because teens are not ready to be on the road driving just yet. Although, i think that the driving age should increase because most teens are immature
In the article “Raise driving age to 18 when teens are more responsible” by Alexander he talked about how roads would be a lot safer if we raised the driving age. It would give the kids s chance to learn more about driving safety and rules of the road. The issue of freedom for teens are not gone, they can easily take bus to school or have somebody older to them to school or work with no problem.
Many people think it is a good idea to change the driving age from 16 to 18. They think it would reduce crashes and stress on parents. They also think it would help out parents that has jobs. However, I believe raising the minimum driving age from 16 to 18 is good because some people has a job, some have sports, and some people are responsible.
In 2014, 2,270 teens in the U.S. ages 16-19 were killed and 221,313 were treated in emergency departments for injuries suffered in motor vehicle crashes. State legislature should raise minimum driving age from 16 to 18 because of the immaturity level of 16 year olds, responsibility, and they would be older and have more experience. If driving age was moved up it would make the roads a much safer place to be.
The current driving age of sixteen is implemented in almost every state in the United States. Most states have become accustomed to the current driving age, but recently there are certain states that believe that the legal driving age should be raised due to various reasons. The main argument for most states is that sixteen-year old’s are not mature enough and lack the preparation to handle the responsibility to drive safely. Teenagers under the age of eighteen should be required to wait longer to get their license and should be more prepared before getting their license.
