In Italy the statement arose that made many people step back and take a look at their lives. This statement changed how people today look at the others around them and that statement was, those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. This means if a person isn’t perfect then they shouldn’t treat others like they should be. Our society today knows what it means to judge or to be judged and that is why people are all living either in complete support of not judging people by their past or choices and those who live judging others for their mistakes. It is important to live by, not throwing stones when living in a glass house which can be shown through Judge Judy, Oprah Winfrey, “The Judgement Seat” and the presidential debate

Oprah Winfrey shows that everyone else has imperfections, but kindness overrules judgement, she demonstrates this with her charity donations, her giveaways, and her overall kindness. Oprah Winfrey has been influential and a leader when it comes to a big heart. Oprah shows off her big heart when she “has donated millions to charity and has provided employment opportunities for many.” Oprah has been a woman who has taken a stand for what she believes in and overlooks the imperfections of these people. Also Mrs. Winfrey has been a person people have looked up to for guidance. Oprah even has her own tv show that she uses to display a nonjudgmental environment. Many people have experienced this and one experience is “ During the show, Winfrey gave out each of the two women, along with about 300 other guests, a $1000 debit card and a DVD camera.” Oprah is known worldwide for that very reason, helping people in need. Oprah realizes people have issues and she takes it as a challenge to help others versus judging them. Oprah Winfrey has left so many lasting impression on so many people. This is shown by two women that went to her show this was said, “ Still, nobody’s ever shown her such kindness ‘I never had anybody do anything for men,’ she said” Just like these women, Oprah has allowed people to pursue their dreams and …show more content…

In “The Judgement Seat Scaramastro shows us what it feels like when you’ve been judged without the other person knowing the situation. Scaramastro states “ I stood far from the judgement seat, Head bowed in bitter shame within my head words echoed loud, for I’d myself to blame.” (Scaramastro). This shows when you’re judged that the words get stuck on repeat in your head and hurt you. When someone is put into that situation Scaramastro gives you the picture of the affect left after a “stone” has been thrown. Scaramastro says the following statement to give the visual of the power of words. The poem says “ yet you had time for menial task, and time to exercise your mental powers on common things your home to supervise. This statement means that once in silence you think about and evaluate every word that’s been said. Everyone has issues but no one knows the depth of someone else's. This poem is displaying a person who has been torn down for their imperfections. Scaramastro says “ those words which burned within my brain, verdict of guilty crime: ‘no place, no hope, no righteous crown: For you I have no time.” (Scaramastro) When Scaramastro writes this he shows the issues people struggle with are real and they tear people apart.
