The Notebook is one of my favorite love movies of all time. The reason I love this movie so much is because that main characters Noah and Allie go through so many trials and finally end up together in the end. This movie I feel shows me how strong their love for each other really was and I now feel as if it is meant to be it will always find a way. The different descriptions and dialogues of Allie and Noah are what bring the change into their relationship. In the novel, Noah is described as a quiet and shy poet. “Although he was quiet, years of heavy lifting at the lumberyard helped him excel in sports, … An occasional person found him arrogant; most simply figured he had grown up a bit faster than everyone else.” (Sparks 24) Whereas in the film, Noah is very outgoing and confident. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. This is evident when Noah climbs on the ferris wheel and hangs from the bars at the carnival where he asks Allie to go out with him. She refuses and he blackmails her by making her think that he will fall down from such a height. Allie becomes frightened and agrees to go out with him, little did she know that this was his plan all along. The change in Noah’s description changes his personality and the way the audience views him as an individual character. Allie and Noah’s tone of dialogues are also changed to make them seem more modern. In the book, Allie agrees to spend time with Noah without any objection. “…the four of them stayed at the festival until the crowds were thin and everything closed up for the night. They met the following day, and the day after that, and they soon became inseparable.” (Sparks 13) This circumstance would not exist in today’s society as females have their personal preferences. This is seen in the movie when Allie plays ‘hard to get’ and rejects Noah several times when he reminds her of the date. “‘What are you doing tonight?’ … ‘Why?’ ‘Why? Our date.’ ‘What date?’ ‘The date that you agreed to.’ ‘No!’ ‘Yes, you did. You promised, and you swore it.’ ‘Well, I guess I changed my mind.’ … ‘Come on, one date. The first chapter of “The Maze Runner” really gets me excited for the rest of the book. I enjoy how it leaves the reader plenty of room to wonder what will happen later in the book. It has an interesting vocabulary that includes some of the slang words that the people of the glade made up. It seems that the plot of the book will quicken very quickly as already there is a lot of foreshadowing hinting toward some unknown beast and a giant maze. I predict that Thomas’s arrival will trigger some sort of issue that he will have to resolve. Just the first chapter has gotten me very excited for the rest of the book.

A number of strange incidents occur throughout the story. Jack finds a wasps' nest while maintaining the roof, uses an appropriate wasp bomb on it, and puts it in Danny's room. That night, although Jack had checked there were no wasps still in the nest, Danny is stung several times, and when Jack manages to put a bowl over the nest, there are many wasps trapped inside. Then in an almost hypnotic fit after spending too much time going through the hotel's papers in the boiler room, Jack smashes the radio, effectively cutting them off from the rest of the world as snow has fallen heavily, and reaching the nearest town has become impossible except by snowmobile.
