The Pros And Cons Of Abortion

Abortion can cause people to be careless with the means of contraception. Lack of information or deliberately, too many people may think this is a trivial solution that does not involve risk.

There are two main political parties you can choose from in the United States, The Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties you can choose from. People can choose to be part of any party. We are divided by the left and right side on the political spectrum. The right are more conservative and the left are more liberal. These two political parties show philosophical differences through their viewpoints on major topics. With so many differences between the parties, finding topics or issues upon which constituents agree on can be difficult.

“How can the “Dream” survive if we murder children? Every aborted baby is like a slave in the womb of his or her mother. The mother decides his or her fate” (Martin Luther King, Jr). This quote, by Martin Luther King Jr, represents how Martin Luther King Jr really feels about abortions, and how abortions relate back to the idea of slavery. As abortions are spreading all across the world many people have wondered if there are any positives to abortions? If there are not any positives to abortion then people may wonder, what are the negatives to abortions, and how do other people feel about abortions.

The practice of abortion is a controversial topic. It is one of the most discussed issue in politics mostly during the election season. Many candidate use this topic in their favor to gain support from the voters.

In people’s minds, abortion is one of many solutions to get rid of a baby that is not wanted or it’s not the right time to raise a baby; it is also one of the most controversial issues of our time. Abortion has it’s own effects on people and society mostly in a bad way. Church and other religious groups are against abortion, while others in our society are supporters. There are some options other than abortion to solve this issue, such as: adoption, teen parenting, and more. “How many more women will be exploited, injured or killed by abortion? More than 4,000 women choose to abort every day. That’s about 1.5 million abortions each year.” (lovematters.com).

In the 45th Federalist Papers, James Madison wrote, “the powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the state governments are numerous and indefinite.” In 1973, the Roe v. Wade ruling legalized abortion based on the constitutional right to privacy. This ruling declared abortion a right protected by the federal government as dictated by the Supremacy clause in Article VI of the United States Constitution. The Supreme Court's assertion of unlimited access to abortion as a federal concern violates states’ rights as it was wrongfully justified. Evidence offered by the fourteenth amendment, various court cases pertaining to abortion, and several philosophical arguments from renowned professors support the shift of the decision from federal to state power. Medical necessity is the only exception in which an individual should be granted unrestricted access to abortion.

I chose this topic because it is a very important topic the world is trying to deal with. I have a very strong beliefs and the people that I know have very strong beliefs concerning abortion. Merriam-Webster dictionary describes abortion as, 1(“The termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.”) 2(Abortion has been legal in the United States since 1973. From 1980 to 2013 abortions have caused the deaths in over 13 million deaths in the U.S. alone.) That is equal to the number of people Hitler exterminated in World War II.

To understand why there is much debate about the humaneness of these two procedures, especially the D&X procedure, one has to comprehend what these procedures entail. “D&E is a procedure that may require, if the pregnancy is sufficiently advanced, the use of a forceps to dismember the fetus and extract it in pieces,”(Ballaro). Interestingly enough, this procedure which would seem like the one to cause an uproar is more accepted by the prolife movement than that of the D&X procedure. ”The D&X procedure is when the fetus is removed intact from the womb. The human world view, which says, "You do whatever you want. Its your own choice not anyone else." The reason for that is because there are people who are against abortion, while we have others who believe that the only ones who have a say on what they do to their body is the women. Abortion is the act of terminating a human pregnancy and it is a cruel crime committed by many women. It is a widespread topic around the world and society is either for it or against it. Unexpected situations can happen to everyone, but that does not make it right to abort a child. A rape victim might not intend on having a baby they were not planning due to the violent act they cannot control, but abortion is wrong because it is murder, adoption is always an alternative, and it is unfair the unborn child cannot speak up for him/herself.

How would you feel when someone literally took away your life away? Imagine yourself without any decision whether you should live or die. well, many babies don't that privilege to choice if they want to be alive or dead because it was based on the decision of the mother. If the pregnant woman decides she wants to abort her baby, they can't do anything about it, because they are too young to have a voice. The future will be destroyed in a mother hand. I believed that abortion happen was based on the selfish decision of a mom.

Many factors are involved with a woman being able to have a baby, such as if she is healthy, wants children or for societal reasons.
