A strong candidate for the 2020 election is Bernie Sanders. He is well known, and he gained a lot of support throughout the 2016 election. His supporters were so loyal that they refused to be swayed to Hillary Clinton’s side when he lost the Democratic primaries. As his advisor I am uncertain, whether, Bernie Sanders should align himself with the Democratic party once again. There are benefits as well as disadvantages for him to associate himself with the party. Bernie Sanders is a liberal, but his stance on issues such as a gun control isn’t as extreme as the Democratic party. He prefers to stand on the middle ground on the issue and thinks that gun control should be entirely up to the state, but he supports background checks for both rural …show more content…
On tax reform he should take a stance which supports a progressive tax system towards major corporations. His stance on tax reforms would make him really popular with his party because the Democratic party represents the middle and lower classes, which tend to be employed by these major corporations. Burnie Sanders would take a strong stance on this because it is not fair that corporate CEO’s enjoy an effective tax rate, unlike their secretaries. Burnie Sanders’ stance on education would gain him the support of younger voters. He would be in support of an education system that provides a college education for free. He would take this stance to be able to provide our workforce with the most well-educated people. On the issue of gun control, Burnie would lay on the middle ground- he would take a stance that background checks for guns should be required in every state. However, he would let the states determine gun control because the stances differ in rural and urban areas. His neutral stance on this issue could help him win over people who are in the middle ground of issue. Overall, his stance on issues should him maintain the support of the Democratic party and it would help him win liberals from third parties that are keen to strategic …show more content…
The 2016 campaign had a lot of attention because as a candidate Donald Trump used social media as an outlet to campaign. Burnie Sanders could use the same strategy and it would help him reach a generation of younger voters by campaigning through social media sites. Canvassing is another major strategy that would be essential to Burnie Sander’s campaign. Reaching to registered voters by having volunteers knock door to door is important because it prompts supporters to out and vote. Calling supporters on the phone also serves as a reminder to register to vote or to encourage them to vote in the favor of the Democratic
The 2016 Presidential Campaign candidate, Bernie Sanders, believes in creating a better America. In proving to the American people, rich and poor, how great the country can be if all people vote for who is trusted best as future President of the United States. The political figures in government care about money and wealth, not the people. Bernard Sanders would be the best choice for President for the main reason that he is concerned about the issues in America that create inequality for the people. The issues addressed by this candidate will create social and economic equality.
A vote for Bernie Sanders is a vote for free education, reasonably paying jobs, and universal healthcare. [I need to add another sentence right here]. There are many reasons why Bernie Sanders is the best candidate for president based on his policies on college, jobs, and healthcare.
Bernie Sanders once said “Finally, let [us] understand that when we stand together, we will always win. When men and women stand together for justice, we win. When black, white and Hispanic people stand together for justice, we win.” Bernie Sanders started as a young activist fighting to desegregate and end the Vietnam war, As he got older he dwelled into politics and became a self identified socialist; he competed against corporate backing and a corrupt political system yet remained true to his beliefs of Universal Health Care System, affordable education, better social security and welfare, the right for a woman to choose what she wants for her body, cares for the environment, but most importantly, Bernie Sanders believes in America.
In the beginning, nobody took Bernie Sanders seriously; they all mocked and made fun of him about his appearance. Then, Bernie said if he got elected he would make college tuition-free. Bernie’s goal was to make sure that every kid, no matter how much money they have, will be able to go to college. Bernie has also addressed the issue of violence between police departments (particularly white departments) and the communities they served. He responded to that issue saying: “We need to change the tone of police-community relations.” He says we need to make police seem like part of the community, not someone from the outside coming in to monitor and report them. AS you may know, there is a big rivalry between Bernie and fellow Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Numerous people say that Bernie has a lot of big ideas, but no way to reinforce them, but man believe he will do good things if he is elected president. After running for president, he really made his dream to aid the powerless
The first would be that Bernie Sanders advocates for mass reform of the justice system. In his opinion, The US imprisons far too many people, a disproportionate percentage of African Americans. Rather than investing more into confining people of various degrees of crime, even minor offenses which usually are usually crimes of desperation, Bernie proposes we spend more on education, training, and jobs that will reduce crime. He also believes in more transparency, mainly in law enforcement, where police officers should be held accountable for their abusive practices. Bernie proposes that this can be done by implementing the use of body cameras to keep officers in line.
He is providing 18 billion dollars for colleges to be able to cut their tuition. Mr. Sanders is going to allow anyone with student loans over a certain amount, a lower pay rate, so that way it is easier for them to get it paid off (Desjardins). Sanders does and does not want guns to be banned. When Sanders takes the place of President Barack Obama, he will not allow the federal government to carry or even have guns.
Senator Sanders plans to give each citizens access to universal healthcare so no citizen will be denied health and medicine. Throughout his political career he voted yes and no on bills going through Senate and he voted each time on bills that expanded healthcare or made it more affordable. He plans on taxing the rich at higher rates, same taxes from resolving the income inequality, and set forth a system of taxing through the stock system that will create billions over the course of a year (). These new taxes would benefit the middle and lower class because they would finally be able to receive healthcare that many of the poor have had to previously live without. New taxes sound like a bad thing, but in Bernie’s plans it would only affect corporations and the top 10%. These new taxes wouldn’t affect the average taxpayer in anyway resulting in more money out of your paychecks, but would affect them by giving them and every citizen free healthcare despite any poor financial
Senator Bernie Sanders should be next President of the United States. He boasts a long and successful political track record. He was a Senator from 2007-2018 and a Representative from 1991-2006, making him the longest serving independent in U.S. congressional history. He has been involved in Civil Rights issues his entire career. He has fought determinedly for working families, focusing on the disappearing middle class and income inequality. The United States should elect Bernie Sanders as the next President of the United States because he takes action on climate change, he fights for working families, and he wants to restore integrity to the political system by taking “big money” out of politics.
Bernie Sanders is a senator, politician, and political activist. He has held several different political offices including Mayor of Burlington, Vermont, and a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Economically, Sanders describes himself as a democratic socialist. Throughout his political career, Sanders has considered himself an independent, but during the 2016 presidential election, he ran as a democratic candidate. According to several polls, Bernie Sanders was considered the most popular senator in 2015 and 2016. Even after losing the 2016 presidential election, he encouraged his supporters to continue the "political revolution" that his campaign started in the country.
Bernard "Bernie" Sanders (born September 8, 1941) is an American politician and the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He is a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election. A Democrat as of 2015,[2] Sanders had been the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, though his caucusing with the Democrats entitled him to committee assignments and at times gave Democrats a majority. Sanders became the ranking minority member on the Senate Budget Committee in January 2015; he had previously served for two years as chair of the Senate Veterans ' Affairs Committee.
Many Americans feel like they need a new president who can help change America and make it better. Although there are many great candidates running, Bernie Sanders stands out among the others. Bernie has many great ideas that will change the way the government is run, but he also agrees with a lot of President Obama’s views. When Bernie becomes president, he claims that taxes will change, healthcare will become better, and gun control laws will become more strict.
In addition to different backgrounds, each candidate has fundamentally different beliefs about how to improve our country and government. Bernie, for instance, has always shown a concern for individual and civil rights. He strongly favors affirmative action and same-sex marriage. He is pro-choice and is endorsed by the Feminist Majority.
Sanders plan is not flawless; however, I’d rather vote for someone who openly cares and tries to make a difference. The first reason why Bernie Sanders should be president is because he supports a true diplomacy first foreign policy. Having this policy means being reasonable enough with other countries to achieve a national objective. In the U.S., this deal is crucial considering our relationships with resource partners. Like current president, Barack Obama, he takes bold positions on the Iran nuclear deal to ease tensions in the Middle East.
Bernard “Bernie” Sanders was a Democratic candidate for the 2016 Presidential elections of the United States. He is now serving his second term as the junior United States Senator from Vermont since 2007. Sanders is the longest-serving independent in the U.S. congressional history, having served 16 years as Vermont’s sole congressman in the House of Representatives.
