The articles focus on building a public dog park in a residential area of Muscatine, Iowa. The dog park would be surrounded by a fence, where dog-owners can unleash their dogs for play and exercise. With the building of a dog park are two opinions to consider. First the people who support the building of the park and second the people who are against a dog park. In this essay I will explain my own position on the issue of whether or not public dog parks should be built in cities. First of all I know the problem of living in a city and having a dog. There are many disadvantages for the dog and the owner. When can I go out with him and play with him? Where can I go without breaking the law of off-leashing my dog? I can say there are many positive things of building dog parks in cities. For example, if you have a dog park you can go there and off-leash your dog and play with him or her. One of the reasons that people are against a dog park is the barking. But for this I also have a solution. The park should have opening times. For Mondays to Fridays the park should be open from 7 or 8am until 9pm. Most of the people are awake during this time and they will not have any sleeping trouble. On weekends the park can be open from 10:30am to 10/11pm. Most of the time people are awake at this time of the day too. Also the dog park would be built more outside a city and not downtown. There is no difference between the sound of a car (the horn) or the sound of a dog who is barking. The only reason that it will be hard to open/built a dog park is the money. Therefore the city should ask for help and scolarships. If the people really want a dog park, they should be willing to support it by giving
