The novel, The Culture of the Cold War, is the all about the cold war and how that time period effected America in the 1960s. It talks about how the Cold War era haunted America with constant threats, and the talk of communism all across the nation. The author of the book, Stephen J. Whitfield, described that the Cold War gave the nation an identity crisis and that suspicion started to arise. The novel is very descriptive on that topic and elaborates on certain ideologies during that time.

During World War II, there was much advancement in technology that led to the destruction of many countries after World War II. New advanced weaponry of World War II or “The Great War” led a lack of new skills that led to many casualties because of the advancement in technology. The most significant weapon that was used and had a huge impact in the World War II was the creation of the atomic bomb. The Cold War broke countries into two parts that turned against each other, the United States and the Soviet Union used these countries to fight their war and caused a big disturbance to daily life, and the Communist States fought the Non-Communist States; however, the end results of these wars only caused more damage in these countries.

WWII had a major impact on America both positive and negative. The war affected many aspects of American life and had lasting impacts even after the war ended. On the positive side, WWII brought about many changes to world. It brought us into the modern age, revolutionized warfare, established America and Russia as the supreme powers of the world, laid the political geography for the next century, was the origin of the Cold War, introduced nuclear weapons to the world, revolutionized large-scale warfare, showed what an evil regime is capable of (Holocaust, Japanese POW camps), introduced or started new, and it brought war to a completely new destructive scale.

WW2 was a very industrious and devastating period in time, in which many weapons and massive bombs were manufactured to help win the war, killing many innocent people in the process. Some of the main innovations include infantry weapons, military vehicles, and a massive nuke called the atomic bomb.

There was a lot of inventions from WWII that changed the world. One of the inventions that changed us is helicopters because they help us get around faster and easier. Another was the Gustav gun it was so large it defined how we can build guns and war machines. The last one is the Goliath it was a gas powered RC vehicle that destroyed enemy tanks, which helped people get past the enemy defense. These are some of the things that changed our world.

No war has made a bigger impact in these areas than World War II, as applications in the fields of engineering and science were passed on to the military for future operations that they would have. Prior to World War II, the world that people saw on a daily basis was vastly different from the world we live in today. No one had any idea what the future would have in store for the future generations.
