Family can be people who are blood related, who have a place in someone’s heart, who make a difference to that person. In Heidi Durrow’s book, The Girl Who Fell From The Sky, there are many themes that can be found by using different characters. Heidi’s characters Brick, Rachel, and Nella have families that are constantly changing the more the reader progresses through the book. Brick especially had a change in his family, when he not only ran away from his home, but also way before his mom started with drugs.
