By definition Travel is an activity taken by individual(s) which involves the movement of people from one point to another for the purpose of personal work, business, and enjoyment.
It was on September 21, 1972 when President Ferdinand E. Marcos placed the Philippines under Martial Law. The President claimed that ‘lawless elements’ supported by a foreign power were plotting to overthrow the lawfully elected government and that martial law was necessary to save the Republic and reform the society (Lim). On the other hand, tourism is defined as the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure business and other purposes (Cruz 1). The term travel and tourism industry has come to mean all the private, public and voluntary sector organizations that provide services for the traveling public and work together to promote the socio-economic benefits of the industry worldwide (Cruz 9). In this industry, companies and government conduct businesses since it became an emerging industry in 1970s. Tourism industry is a rising trade during Marcos time since there is an increase in the number of tourist arrivals starting from 1970 up to 1980. From 242, 811 in 1973, it increased to 1,008,158 in 1980. However, it can also be observed that there was a negative growth rate from 1981 until 1986. The rise of travel and tourism in the Philippines during Martial law were caused by several actions of government. Department of Tourism was built in 1973 and it was in-charge in the marketing and promotions of the country’s destinations to international market. The improvement of
Successful contract creation is essential for two or more different parties to conduct business. A contract needs to be full of specifics and lacking in ambiguity, otherwise interpretations, based on needs and experience, can and will be made by both sides. One such area of potential ambiguity in a contract is that of agency. Agency is a relationship where a principal (business owner, company officer, etc.) appoints an agent and “the agent is the representative of the principal and acts for, in the place of, and instead of, the principal.” (USLEGAL.com, 2010, Agency). In the video The Nature of Agency
Several studies have investigated the perception of the local community on the tourism impacts and tourism development. The research by Ramkissoon and Nunkoo (2011) in Port Louis showed that favorable attitude toward the tourism industry was found to support for tourism development, with higher insights of positive tourism impacts, this means that the community shows higher support for the industry. Nejati, Mohamed & Omar (2014) found that locals in Perhentian Island have an ominously greater level of outlook towards the positive economic impacts of tourism than residents in Redang Island after comparing the two islands in Malaysia. Aside from the perceived negative environmental impacts of tourism, locals on both islands

Since the beginning of human civilization in the world, travelling has been an ongoing event. The early humans travelled for hunting and food gathering. Later, as society evolved, travelling became more prominent but became limited to trade, pilgrimage, studies, migration, royal affairs and exploration, rather than for pleasure and entertainment. From this knowledge it is evident that travelling is part of human nature but tourism is a process and activities of a new and moderately recent phenomenon. The evolution of tourism can be divided into three phases.

An agency relationship occurs when a principle, or employer, hires another agent to perform tasks that they do not have the knowledge or time to perform. Conflicts can arise with the interests between these two parties are not inline. This difference in agendas between the two agents is referred to as the agency problem. In business, agency problems transpire between the stockholders (principal) and managers (agents). The stockholders employee the managers to take care of the company, the managers may look to their own desires first. Agency problems can also occur between the below parties.
When looking at the relationship between tourism and work as depicted in the documentary Life and Dept (2001) that was watched in class, one must first understand that tourism is a recent phenomenon. It is something that has just recently been made available and affordable to the everyday citizen. With this rather new development, tourism has become one of the largest industries in the world in term of revenue. This industry is so large that it employs "one in six workers in the Caribbean" (Gentry 2007).

The travel industry has evolved though history. As the travel industry developed and grew, so did the use of Management Information Systems. Today, the travel industry is global, and technology is capable of processing, storing, and facilitating travel with a large amount of flexibility and in a short amount of time. However, the travel industry was not always this way. As the industry has adapted, challenges have been overcome through the advancement of management information systems.
Growing inequality and increased social exclusion for those customers and businesses without access to necessary technology. Though the internet, IT, etc are well-spread in this country, we still have some people could access to these technology due to their age or disability, etc. Also, there must are some of the small tour operating business that couldn’t afford to access those technology. The development of new technology in tour operating industry will just foreclose those people and businesses.
