Title?
Three of us. We were the only ones left, the only ones to make it to the island. It all started on Monday April, 10th 2017. My family and I were all going on a trip to Florida for a week then to a tropical island off the coast of Florida. The people that were going was my mom, dad, brother, my best friend, my girlfriend, her mom, her dad, her brother, her brother's family, her best friend, and me. We all met at the Cincinnati airport where we flew 4 hours to Florida. When we got to Florida we got a hotel for the week. We were staying at a Doubletree hotel in St. Pete Beach. On our first day in Florida, we went to the pool. We had a blast at the pool. We were there for about 14 hours. All of us kids played on a zip line that
The first day we got there we just hanged out at the hotel all day. It was 78 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny. It was 8AM in the morning when I saw the pool. Now at first I was very disappointed that it was shutdown because they needed to put chemicals in it. At 11 it finally opened up and I was WOWED. The Pool was amazing. It was sparkling Blue and the water was as clear as glass. That's why we stayed in it all day. The second day we went to Sea World. We hadn't been to Sea World yet until that day where we learned why it's one of the best Disney parks. We entered at the gate where we saw the ride of a lifetime The Manta. The Manta is a ride that makes you go backwards on almost the whole ride. It is the scariest ride I have ever seen. None of my family did that for just that reason. First we went to the Dolphin show which was really cool. It was so cool because the actors and actresses would jump into the water and the Dolphins would come out and do tricks on them like skiing on top of them, and making them wave to the crowd. Then we to another show which is called Shamu. Shamu is a show about Wales that do all these tricks like splash us. I forgot to tell you but Garrett, Chloe, and I were all sitting in the splash zone and we were watching the Wales do all these tricks when the Disney people told us to get ready and Garrett and I didn't have enough time to react and two seconds later all of a sudden we got tsunamified, so soaked that there wasn't a single dry spot on my shirt. After that Chloe started crying and I had to bring her up to mom and dad who were in the last row of the stadium. Chloe was not happy for that part of the trip at Sea World. After both those shows it started raining so we finished up are day at going in a virtual helicopter and seeing all the Penguins and the Arctic Animals which was pretty cool. As soon as we got in the pilot we cranked that baby up until the heat felt like Florida instead of Maine. Speaking of Maine
A few days in the marina, savoring the last little bits of our time in Florida, ended abruptly with an early morning trip to the airport in the dark. With spring break coming up and missing grandbabies, not to mention kids, we planned to fly back up north for a visit. We had to wear long pants and carry coats because we knew it’d be cold in Maryland. Ohhh…the horror of it.
After college, I decided I was over with Maine. For that reason, employment in Orlando, Florida sounded extremely appealing. Besides visiting Disney and Aquatica, absolutely anything else was clear and this truly meant adventure, so I was sold. Two weeks after graduation, I receive an e-mail saying I had the position. However, there was a problem; I was visiting my parents in Lima, Peru. As anyone could imagine, as a recent graduate I was broke. Nonetheless, I managed to get a one-way ticket to Florida and arrive without any issues.
Hola fellow classmates. I am Michelle and look forward to working with all of you over the next 8 weeks. My area of study is in accounting and delighted to finally learn Spanish. I currently reside in gloomy Ohio and look forward to moving south after my daughter finishes this year of school. Learning the Spanish language is going to be truly helpful in communicating once I move to Florida. Unfortunately, I cannot recall a time that I have experienced a different cultural introduction. Now that I must think about the people that I have encountered in my life, and the greetings that I have had with them, they all seemed to have used the standard introduction of shaking hands. Greetings to my family and friends is a hug and kiss on the
Growing up in Southern Florida is something most people don’t experience with a sun shining brightly every day and water canals everywhere I looked, with spacious land to play on in most places it was definitely a great time as a child. I remember going on field trips in my elementary school, to the great Everglades which was something so exciting. Also, remember every Sunday going to the beautiful springs with my family to enjoy the great fresh water coming from underground. Now 16 years have passed, and things don’t look the same anymore going back to the places I grew up in was so exciting to find out there is no more space anymore or land to play on all there is business buildings everywhere and went to the everglades to visit and show my adult friends how wonderful it is to see nature come alive but the experience was nothing like when I was a child the everglades looked destroyed with a bunch of “Welcome to the Everglades” shirt selling places surrounding it and more business building too, it was depressing to see were this beautiful ecosystem went. What I did realize was the
I was 9 years old when my mom came to with a question she had. She made it sound really serious, I thought something horrible happened. When she finally got to the question it turned out to be amazing! She asked me if I wanted and was okay with moving to Florida. Of course me being 9 thought it was such exciting news. I obviously said yes, but a few months later made me regret my decision.
One sunny, hot afternoon at switchback mx in Orlando, Florida I was preparing get two rookie supercross riders here train. I was getting very nervous that adam cianciarulo, and ryan lojack would not be here on time to train. I stepped out of the van and smelled the 2-strokes, and heard the roaring bikes. Then finally Adam and Ryan finally showed up! Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto and I told them to go get ready, because we had a lot of work to do today. Ryan, and Adam went to work on the track battling it out, when I waved them in.
It was May 1st, 2014. Time for our family’s annual vacation we were getting packed up for the night and our drive down to Florida. We’ve had been to Destin once before.
Have you ever been to Florida? I went this summer with my mom, dad, sister, and brother. on the plane ride I sat on the window side, and my dad sat in the middle. My brother sat with us on the other side of my dad. My mom and sister sat in row 4, and we sat in row 13. On the way home I sat with my mom in row 4, and my dad, brother, and sister sat in row 13.
Every now and then I look back on my childhood memories. As a child I was very lucky, my family loved to go on vacations. Growing up we went on vacations almost every other year, small and big. I have been to Florida multiple times and got the chance to go to some of the many amusement parks including Disney world, Universal studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and SeaWorld. Out of all the vacations I have taken I would say my favorite is the trip we took a few years ago to Aruba.
Once upon a time I went to Pensacola, Florida. I say once upon a time but it was really just over the summer. It rained pretty much everyday that we were there and it was hot. Now, I’m not someone to get really deep in the ocean or bay because obviously the animals that live in the ocean. Last time I was in the ocean I was pinched by a crab, and somebody caught some baby sharks that night so I was freaked out. This time the thing that was in the ocean was way too close for comfort and I could see it.
oday I will be putting you guys in my shoes of my trip to the Bahamas, and what I did there. This was one of the best days of my whole life. We wanted to go somewhere for vacation, but didn't know where. When my parents surprised me and my sister Haley that we were going to go on a vacation, we were very happy. I was eager to pack and leave right that second that they told me. I remember going to Flordia and staying there for a couple of days before the Bahamas. We went to the airport after Florida and got on the plane. I remember the wait to get onto the plane, and eating at a wendy's inside of the airport.(It wasn’t good.) When they said it was time to get on, I got onto the plane and called the window seat. The view was amazing! I remember
The family stops to eat at The Tower for sandwiches. Grandmother enjoy a conversation with Red Sammy, discussing how it’s hard to find a good man, the old days and The Misfit. She received more conversation with him than she had most of the trip to Florida so far.
I is for In South Carolina. Last summer me and my family went on vacation to myrtle South Carolina. It was a lot of fun we for to see the ocean for the second time. It took us 19 hours to get there. We stopped at some cool places on the way there. One place we stopped at was a cave it was a 2 mile walk for there through the cave and back. Once we got to Myrtle beach we took some of our stuff Into the hotel. Then my mom, brother, dad and got our passes to go out on the pier. We first went out onto the pier and then we went down to the ocean. We spent all day there and then we ate at the restaurant on the pier entrance.
I’m coming up to the two-year anniversary of the day I received my invitation to move to Florida. I thought about blogging something sappy about all the people I love and have grown to love since that experience, but I decided to write this instead. On July 30, I’ll probably still utter words about coffee shops, sunsets and road trips in celebration all my experiences with TWLOHA has given me, but today this felt right. Today, I felt like it was time to talk about finding my voice. Because, in essence, it was about this time two years ago that I began to find out what this expression truly meant.
