There are a lot of differences between truck driving and lawyers. I chose these careers because I like driving trucks, and I am interested in diesel trucks. I also like to argue so being a lawyer makes sense. Heavy and tractor- trailer truck drivers transport goods from one location to another. Most tractor-trailer drivers are long-haul drivers and operate trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity-that is, the combined weight of the vehicle, passengers, and cargo exceeding 26,000 pounds. Material movers, water transportation workers and railroad workers could also be included in this type of job. The second career is very different. Lawyers advise and represent clients in court. They communicate with their clients. They can conduct research and analysis of legal problems. Lawyers can interpret laws and regulations for individuals and businesses. There are many kinds of lawyers, including environmental lawyers, tax lawyers, Intellectual property lawyers, family lawyers, securities lawyers, and litigaty after ion. Becoming a lawyer usually takes 7 years of full-time study after high school—4 years of undergraduate study, followed by 3 years of law school. Most states and jurisdictions require lawyers to complete a jurisdoctor (J.D.) degreefrom a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). ABA accreditation signifies that the law school—particulary its curricula and faculty—meets certain standards. Arbitrators try to stop two people from fighting.
