I really enjoyed this class due to the variety of activities that were assigned, and the people I was able to bond with. I would have to say that “Turbo Kick” was my favorite activity we did. Although I ended up spraining my ankle during the session, it was still a lot of fun. Another one of my favorite activities would be the free workout days at the corec. I felt like I could workout at my own pace, without holding anyone back. I also was able to work on cardio, strength, and endurance activities as many or as little as I wanted.
After graduation, I plan on becoming more active with a gym: taking advantage of their group classes and such. With that being said, I could see myself trying “Turbo Kick” again. I also feel like I will have more free time to exercise once I no longer have homework to worry about at night.
I think that working at my own pace keeps me more motivated and focused. When we do cardio/timed workouts in

I did not know about a lot of the Group X classes or what “Turbo Kick” was. I also participated in a yoga class for the first time because of PES 111. It definitely showed me how much strength goes into performing yoga. Being completely honest with myself, I do not believe my fitness level increased from this class. I worked out two days per week during the Fall, and so taking this class covered my weekly exercise goal.
In all, I think this class is a wonderful way to keep people from slacking off and not going to the gym. I really would like to see my sport-based exercising and outside activities. I also think that lecture could be given as an online section. I feel like I’d get more out of the homework and readings if I had constant assignments online. Overall, this class was a great choice for my last semester at Purdue. I enjoyed the people in class and learning about other opportunities Purdue
Fitness has always been something that I loved. It’s always been a lifestyle for me whether it was dance or cheer to softball and volleyball. Most teens hate conditioning in sports, but I was always that weird girl on the team that loved it. I love the feeling of working hard and being able to push myself and get better. I’ve always been super
My decision to take the class was arguably the greatest decision I have ever made. I instantly fell in love with exercising, working out with others, and learning more about physical fitness. I took the class every year and gained more motivation with every goal I met. When senior year came
The two major health components covered in this class was physical health and social health. Physical health “refers to the way that the body function.” This definitely consist of regular exercise. Since the class was mainly consisted of strength training exercises, it gave older adults strength and energy. This can play a major role in preventing some illnesses. Social health is the quality of one’s relationship with his/her friends and family. I feel like the instructor was also trying to get older adults to work together during the exercises. I saw older adults helping each other out when it came to stretching. This would be a good class for older adults to attend if they wanted to meet new people. The
I drag myself to the gym several times a week. The drive to Healthbridge is agonizing because most of time, especially in bone chilling weather and when I’m working thirty hours a week on top of school, I rather be curled up in bed reading or catching up on my latest Netflix addiction Shameless. But exercising is important, and I try to squeeze in a good workout in between the several other things sucking up my time. I’m a biomedical science major; I understand the science behind why exercise is good for the body, but I also have the common sense to understand that the way physical education is taught is not intense enough for students to benefit. For example, today we pulled each other around the gym on towel. . .what are the students getting
There are such a large number of advantages of Jazzercise we would require two online journals to make our point. This move based workout schedule highlights hour long classes that blend move, resistance preparing, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing and Latin-style developments set to well-known music.
For those who participate in college athletics or keep to a strict workout schedule, exercise seems like a given aspect of life at Furman. The Physical Activities Center circulates students and others from the community throughout the entire day. Wellness workout classes instruct students how to use machines and create workout regimens. These are marks of a healthy lifestyle, and you may notice that your friends and roommates who workout tend to get sick less often. Maybe they always beat the common cold, or maybe they avoid flu season entirely. Exercise has been linked to health benefits and has proven to help the immune system fight off infections. Not only will working out make your everyday life less stressful, it will fill up your schedule, make you more social, and overall improve your well being in how you look and feel.
Coming off of Labor Day weekend this week, we had a workout on Tuesday. We did mile repeats on the cross country course. Although some people were tired, as a majority our team saw improvements from the last time we did this workout and we even increased the volume. It was encouraging to see girls hitting faster times and I am looking forward to seeing girls break their goals.
The Barre Code instantly stood out. The instructors were so welcoming and made me feel beyond comfortable. I did not feel intimated or behind even though I was a beginner and had no idea what a barre inspired class was like. Lets just say, after my first class my mind and body changed.
Was summer school P.E really worth it? Wasting my already short summer to the long days in the sun, running and exercising just so I wouldn’t have to take that class during the school year. To be honest I do think it was worth it. Not only do I now not have to take this class during the year, but I also got a month's worth of good exercise and I learned how to train within my target heart rate zone. Don’t get me wrong there definitely was some cons to doing summer school P.E. For example suffering from delayed onset muscle soreness, commonly known as D.O.M.S. or getting headaches from the heat. Anyway, here is my take on Palmdale High School’s summer school P.E.
College life is a time full of fun, friends, activities, classes, and homework. All of these activities however, add up to a busy life style. Being busy is not in itself harmful but when the busyness becomes so great that it turns into stress, problems start to arise. The formation of stress leads to many unhealthy trends, such as lack of sleep, loss of immunity to disease, and a change in personality traits. How then can stress in the busy lives of college students be reduced? The answer is a simple one that has long been known; exercise relieves stress. Colleges across the country need to implement a program of required exercise classes to promote the well being of students.
These best workouts help in the burning of calories and also in the strengthening of the bones. It also helps in the increasing of the chemical changes that take place in the body system. It has so many advantages, and one of them is it increases the heart beat rate, and also the strengthening of the muscles in the circulatory system.
This mix of workouts make the training more varied and fun, while it is optimal for you to do with lots of calories and burn
When I first started movement class in January, I already had a good connection with my body. However, I knew there was still a lot of work to be done. The most valuable lessons I learned during the course, though there were many, were to not work so hard with my body, to be more aware of my day-to-day, and the power of understanding yourself.
I have definitely learned quite a lot when it comes to getting your body into proper condition. This fitness class taught me what it is like to be in shape and acquire the workouts I need to continue
When I came to college I never knew how difficult it would be to exercise on a regular basis. I was a high school athlete who had always found physical activity important and figured that would continue during my college career, but I was mistaken. I quickly became overwhelmed, and my time at the gym was quickly cut out of the schedule. I gained weight like most college students and looking back now I realized I had irregular eating habits, extreme levels of stress, and lack of sleep which is typical in most college students. When thinking of a personal self-care activity I found that exercise helped improve all of these problems in some way. When I realized exercise was the personal self-care
