On the evening of Friday, October 14th at the Anderson Redskins stadium, a barbarous game of football left the Turpin Spartans 8-0 after beating hometown rivals, Anderson Redskins, 38-21. A kick from Anderson started the game, not long after, QB Lucas Smith runs a 18yd touchdown, starting the game out with a 7-0 Turpin lead. The Redskins’ Kyle Blaha soon persevered through the unforgiving Turpin defense and ran a 2 yd touchdown, evening out the score out 7-7. “Our offense and defense did well, but there’s always room for improvement.” Coach Kenter explained after Turpin gave up 21 points in the first half. “But I think this was one of better games of the entire season, the team really brought it.” Second quarter brought both the Spartans and Redskins 2 new touchdowns each and an exciting 65 yard pass Turpin touchdown, Smith to Will Hausfeld. Halftime stopped the intense game at a suspenseful score of 21-21. Into the third quarter, Linebacker Lang Evans came up with the biggest play of the game, an interception leaving Turpin at the Redskin six yard line. On the next snap, Turpin’s Nathan Hooper scores a 6 yd run touchdown, breaking the tie. But Lucas Smith, with his 2nd touchdown of the game, ran the ball 1 yd into the endzone, leaving the game at 38-21 and 51 seconds left in the 4th quarter. By the end of the night, the Turpin Spartans were the only undefeated team in the ECC. It was homecoming night against the powerhouse Taylorville, it was cold, rainy, and the field turned into a swamp of mud, sweat, and blood. It was time for the game to start. Taylorville came out on offense and on the very first play of the game, Parker Stokes ran a 63 yard touchdown. It was one of the many spirit breakers of the night. It was time for us to return the favor, we came out on offense on the 20 yard line. We had 80 yards to go, and it felt more like 1,000. With all the rain we couldn't pass the ball, so we handed the ball off to our all-star running back Terrence Hill, we drove the ball 56 yards on 6 plays. During the annual Ely Tigers v. Dilard Panthers football game, the game was decided at the end of the 4th quarter during a touchdown scoring catch. The wide receiver, Donnell Wilson, caught the ball in the end zone to score. It was a clean catch in the right place at the right time that resulted in the game-winning touchdown.
After a Northridge penalty moved the ball to the two-yard-line, Gibson would go the final two-yards for another Newark Catholic score.The point after kick was missed. leaving this a,27-12 Newark Catholic lead.Gibson finished with 136 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries. He looked like a man playing against boys in the the second half. A large part was because of the work of his offensive line, who seemed to play much better then they did in the opening half.

The Memphis Tigers scored their final touchdown to take a 34-14 lead with 14:51 left on the clock in the fourth quarter and the Houston Cougars started to mount their comeback with their back up quarterback in the game. Sophomore quarterback Kyle Postma came into the game late in the second quarter after senior QB Greg Ward went down with an apparent left ankle injury. Postma started the scoring as he drove down field after Ward exited the game and scored the teams first touchdown.
Things got start with a bang, when Dawson Martin took off for a sixteen-yard run, showing speed and nice field vision. Martin would close out the drive on a 2-yard run to make this a,6-0 game. A two point conversion run by,Elijah Malcolm made the score,8-0, with 9:05 left in the quarter.
It seemed as though hope had been revived in the fourth quarter when an 80-yard run by Baldiviez put some points up on Dana’s end of the board. With 49 seconds remaining, Junior Corey Cisowski found Senior Ryder Lynch who finished off the game with a 6-yard touchdown.
