The results of the four personality tests all agree that I value relationships and ideas that can be seen, touched, and felt. I identify strongly with these core characteristics. However, because of the high emotional scores, the tests tend to lean towards a humanitarian personality. While I care about others and do hold convictions on certain matters, the activist theme is not accurate. In my early career, because of my emotional intelligence, I was encouraged to engage in studies involving social work, counseling, and teaching. My first two years of college were focused on education until I realized my brand of emotional intelligence would fit better in a business organization, specifically human resources. The relational and emotional characteristics come from my Type A personality. The need to be accepted by my peers will be an ongoing challenge in my career. I do think relationships are extremely important to achieving goals. I have experienced that it takes time and effort to develop and maintain relationships with my staff, but it has enabled my team to buy-in to our recruitment initiatives.
The Myers Briggs test indicated that I have a slight preference for introversion over extraversion. This result surprised me as I feel a strong pull towards introversion. As a faculty recruiter it is highly important to be an

I learn by using all senses. Although, I do prefer hands-on activities and a variety of real-world examples. The MSHA program will be my first experience with online classes. It will take some time to adjust but my multimodal learning will be beneficial. The Vark scores hit the nail on the head in regard to note taking. My notes are all over the place with no real flow. My auditory score is low which does not bode well for graduate studies, at least according to the Baylor MHA/MBA study. However, as the textbook suggests, leaders must be scholars and always learning and adjusting their styles to achieve
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Personality (MBTI) was developed by Briggs Myers and her mother Katharine Cook Briggs in 1943 during the onset of World War II (Ham, 2016). Briggs recognized the need for psychological instruments that would value human differences and utilized the C G Jungs theory in creating the MBTI (The Story of Isabel Briggs Myers, n.d). According to The Myers & Briggs Foundation (2014) Myers and Briggs initially tested a group of 20 relatives and friends. They utilized such sample, because they thought they could predict their personality solemnly on observation which by observation. The initial random sample did not truly represent a whole population, but merely were used due to availability.
In the TypeFocus Assessment online worksheet my four-letter personality type was ESFP. This meant that I was friendly and outgoing and I also live for the moment. I am fun to be around, help others enjoy life with taking the best out of some situations, and interested in meeting new people. Making my own rules and bending them are also descriptions of me according to the survey, which I have to agree with. In the interests, it said that I was Realistic, which means I have an athletic or mechanical ability, prefer to work with objects, machines, outdoors, and prefer to work with things other than people. Another interest I had was Social; this meant that I like to work with people and help, train, or help live up to their potential. I did not
The Myers and Briggs Personality Type Inventory test assessed my personality type as an ENTJ, with an extravert of 72%, intuitive 38%, thinking 25%, and judging 44% (Humanmetrics Inc., 1998). A person with an ENTJ personality type is honest and has a preference for leadership. He or she is very constructive and will always follow the guidelines. Because, ENTJs enjoy order, if there is a flaw in a system, the ENTJ will implement a way to resolve that shortcoming. Additionally, ENTJs are very goal oriented, which leads them to develop long-term plans (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, 2014).
The personality-based assessment by TypeCoach determined my personality type to be ISTP, Introvert, Sensor, Thinker and Perceiver. A few of the traits of an ISTP consisted of the individual “living in the moment”, “Down to earth”, Logic driven”, “unflappable”, “level headed”, “realistic”, “private”, and “quiet”. The personality assessment described me pretty well with a percentage of 80. However, there were some aspects of the assessment I did not agree with wholeheartedly. For Instance, I did not believe that I was a Sensor, but after reading the bio, I came to the conclusion that I could be. My profile explained my personality in five category types, the first being Economy of Speech and/ Motion Efficiency. This section described me as a
The first subset of my personality is Extraversion, as opposed to Introversion. As an extrovert, I would describe myself as social, external and gregarious. This characteristic helps me communicate and reach out to others. However, there are cons that go along
According to the interview for the internship above, it shows that the individual personality has definitely an impact on the managers’ decisions whether or not to hire someone to be an intern or to take a new position in their companies. This applicant Susanna’s personality profile indicates that she fails in the projection errors because she does not trust people. This distrust sometimes blocks her not to accept others’ ideas or opinions. In addition, based on Susanna’s orderliness and dutifulness, they show that she has a high level of organizational commitment because she has a strong sense of an obligation and thinks that all tasks must be done perfectly and professionally as well. However, they identify her as a Type A personality because
Though the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Personality Test endures constant scrutiny from the field of Psychology, I believe that the test, while not always getting everything correct, does a good job at pinpointing certain aspects of one’s personality and tendencies. Upon taking the test in class, I was classified as ENTP, meaning Extroverted, Intuitive, Prospecting, and Turbulent; this personality type is nicknamed “The Debater.” While the site’s description of the category as a whole does a very good job of describing me, I believe that its description became more lacking as it tries to describe the individual components of the type.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an assessment that measures someone's psychological preferences, and how we use these preferences to make a decision. Upon finishing the assessment, I have been classified as an extroverted sensing thinking judging (ESTJ). Which, to me, make perfect sense because according to www.humanmetrics.com/personality/estj, it explains that ESTJ's are joiners, outspoken, and "thrive on order and continuity". All these aspects outline how I think, how I view most subjects, and points out most of my biases. This assessment made me realize why I write in the way I do, because I write logically, objectively, and write more quickly because of it. I don't appeal to the audience and tend to brush
The study of personalities is often a complex and daunting task. Trying to determine why people are the way they are, why they do what they do, and how they will react to certain situations has been the focus of many personality assessments. One of the most popular personality assessments being the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or the MBTI. The core idea of this assessment when being created was to help individuals gain more insight into their personalities. In the words of the creators, Katherine and Isabel Briggs Myers, this assessment was created to "enable individuals to grow through an understanding and appreciation of individual differences in healthy personality and to enhance harmony and productivity among diverse groups” (History,
I think I have managed to improve or eliminate some factors, but still, some factors have sustained the health issue. Though I was able to improve my financial solvency after completing my medical school, unfortunately since I moved here it turned back to the previous situation. For me, it is a luxury now to buy food from a restaurant. So sometimes I can not follow the advice of my physician to eat every 3 hourly. Also, I was not able to completely get rid of the tradition of eating oily food. Still, I have no control over my type A personality. I become stressed with a minor issue and stress is a major aggravating factor for chronic
Today in class we discussed Type A Personality. People with Type A personality generally are obsessed with being on time, competitive, impatient, and may be easily angered and hostile. These traits may become dangerous as they can lead to heart problems because of the anger these people possess.
This criticism is made based on generalization, and only conveys a single story. Personally, I decided to apply for the honors program since I possess Type A personality. I am inherently attracted to challenges and adventures, which progressively enhance my self-discovery. I also grew up in a collectivistic culture, therefore, I fully comprehend the importance of standardization and essential disciplines in educational institutions. Additionally, humbleness and selflessness have become indispensable parts of me. Having lived in both collectivistic if and individualistic environments, I am opportunely able to realize my particular abilities and limitations. Therefore, I tend to accept failures easier than others once I can explain and justify
Through this assessment I have found that I have more of a Type B personality. I have also found that there are three different Types, A, B, C. Upon further research I have found that there is a lot more to it and it could be a bit confusing. The test I took says that Type B is a cross between C and A. When reading more about them it seams they are completely different. Type A personalities are known to be a bit high strung and stressed often. They try to do to many things at once along with setting un-realistic goals. This would cause higher blood pressures and over time could lead to serious health issues. Type B personalities are a go with the flow, and more laid back type. They are more likely to adapt to their social surroundings making
Also, extroverted people tend to act impulsively without thinking of consequences. An introverted person will think about his or her actions before committing to them (Extroversion). After taking the Myers-Briggs test, I discovered that I had an extroverted personality (Flynn). This is very prevalent in my job, as well as school. While I benefit from some time to myself, I enjoy working with groups of people. If I must choose between conducting a project on my own or with a group, I will usually pick the group. I also have a job that requires working with large groups of children. While some individuals may find such a large group overwhelming, I find it easy and comfortable. Another indicator of my extroverted personality is my tendency to act on impulse. Many times, I will enroll in classes before I take the time to see if I need them or will do well in them. I also make choices without considering consequences. Last semester, I chose to skip class to attend other events. While friends thought it made me a fun, flexible person, I ended up failing my class due to absences. Being introverted and extroverted both have their positive and negative qualities, but I typically benefit from my outgoing personality.
Many characteristics make up both Type A and Type B personalities. Type A and Type B personalities traits are usually the exact opposite of each other.
