After thoughtful analysis of the mission statement for USF, I realized that the same values were instilled in me from my time in the military. As stated in the USF mission statement, I see myself as a person that wants to help the community as a nurse, and partner to make the world we live in more humane. I am applying to USF because I feel that I embody all the characteristics a future nursing should have in order to become a healthcare professional. My dream as a child was to become a nurse, to help people. As a young child, I enjoyed helping my grandmother change my grandfather’s bed and diaper. Also I made sure he took his medications. Even though I loved playing his nurse, it caused me pain view my hero in pain. In my young childhood
For me nursing was not something that I initially intended to do as a career. During elementary school and into high school I contemplated many different career paths such as cosmetology, teaching, psychology, and forensics. It was not till the later years of high school that I started to notice my desire to help other individuals and love of science, health, and different disease processes. My desire to help people has originated from the admiration of my grandfather’s
I want to do when I finish school. My mother always told me that I would be a babysitter, because I like to take care of kids. On the other hand, I thought that I wanted to be a teacher However, being a student for twelve long years I noticed how children behaved in school. In my mind, I knew that wasn’t the future job for me. When I was in the third grade, my grandmother had a stroke. Since she had gotten sick, I had to take care of her .This is what persuaded me to become a Registered Nurse.
Joining sides with the nurse, my family drilled the idea of nursing into my brain. Nursing and forfeiting my plan seemed to become a necessity for a successful life. After hearing people tell me what I should do, I eventually started to agree with them. The actions of my family along with the way it affected me could compare to when someone tells a lie enough times, they'll believe it to be true. I never believed I wanted to be something more than I did at that
I have always wanted to be a nurse: I do not think there is any task that is as satisfying as treating a patient physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. I first pursued my LPN, and immediately I knew I had chosen the right career path. Every day, no matter how tired and weary I felt at the end of the day, I was invigorated by the sense that I had made a positive change in the lives of my patients. To build upon my capabilities to help others, I then pursued my RN. I am currently in an RN-BSN program and hope to begin a graduate program subsequently to become a family nurse practitioner.

My dream is to become a neonatal nurse so I can directly aid in the treatment of infants born with a life-threatening illness, birth defects, and those put at risk from premature births. This is a cause close to my heart as my mother has worked with children who suffer from a plethora of birth defects for many years at Spring Creek Elementary School where I have had the pleasure to volunteer on many occasions. These children have their own personal battles that they fight every single day, they do it with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts and it's with the help of the medical staff that fought for them at birth that they are here today to share their love with the rest of the world. This is the nurse I intend to be.
The FFA mission statement reads “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve”. The Columbia City FFA Chapter worked to fulfill this mission statement by embarking in a new community service project called Read to Feed with the Indiana FFA Association and Heifer International. Through this program, FFA members were provided the opportunity to impact first grade elementary students by heightening their awareness of international agricultural issues through service and literacy. The chapter partnered with first grade classes from Little Turtle and Coesse Elementary Schools. The first grade students read and recorded their reading minutes, while FFA members were out advocating the event to local businesses to gain their support
Growing up my dream was to become a nurse because I have always loved to take care of people. I also just knew when I finally started my nursing career I could save the world, While in nursing school, I quickly learned
I want to become a nurse because as a baby I had many difficulties in coming to this world. From being eight months premature and breech, my mother had a hard time giving birth to me. She had to fly from the island of Kauai to Oahu to give birth to me and because I was eight months premature I almost didn't survive. I would not be here today if it weren't for the nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center who took care of me and nursed me into a healthy little baby. These nurses helped me fight for my life and when I was discharged, they gave me a little green doll that I still hold onto until this very day. For this reason, I have the desire to work hard and become the neonatal nurse that I always wanted to be. Being a neonatal nurse will give me the opportunity to
From my toddler years to my young adult years I could always see myself in the future being in the medical field, wearing white scrubs with my hair tied back, being one hundred percent focused on my duties. To have successfully completed my Medical Assisting certification makes me one step closer to my dream of being a neonatal nurse. This success has shaped me into the individual I am today whether its taking care of patients ill or well in a loud hospital setting or in a medical office. Being a Medical Assistant is a career filled with compassion and a career you will be proud of.
I have always wanted a career in which I can touch lives, that is when I discovered my love for nursing. In nursing, I could probably even help to save lives. I enjoy helping people in their times of need. I think it is the most fulfilling thing in the world, and nursing will allow me to do this for the rest of my life. I believe that the cure for many of the people's illnesses is not just in medicine, it is in the care and love that they receive as patients from nurses and the medical team. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people's lives.
This Mission Statement would affect me in different ways such as that it will open new opportunities for me to learn more and achieve the goals I have for myself
As a child growing up, all I wanted to be was a medical Doctor or a Nurse practitioner, I usaully visualize myself with the white lab coat and stethoscope around my neck, and whenever I visited the hospital with my Dad who was a medical practitioner at that time, I never wanted to go back home. Even though I was young and did not know the scope of practice of the profession, I was very sure that I was going to be a doctor or a nurse when I become an adult. Actually, it was all about the uniform and the medical equipment that really intrigued me as a child.
Even as a child, I never doubted that my “calling” was to become a nurse, to help and to heal.
I knew that I wanted to become a nurse when my Grandma was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Seeing all the people who cared for her and helped her through the rough times started turning the gears in my mind. I knew I wanted to help people in the medical field, but at first I was not sure how. Before I decided that I wanted to become a nurse, I wanted to become a physical therapist. After further investigation into the field of physical therapy and nursing I realized that I didn't just want to help those who are hurt. I want to help those who are on their deathbed, those who just broke a bone, those who are dehydrated and in need of serious help, those who just had surgery and are in major pain, those who have cancer, and anything else my
