If we understand values as ideas and beliefs about how people we behave and act depends on our personal backgrounds (family culture, religion, and relationships), we can find out which are the principles that guide all the care workers to understand wrong from right and also, what is important when we are caring and supporting our patients. For us, health and social care workers they are six principles which helps us to deliver a person-centred care. This are:
· Care: having in mind what is in the best interest for our patients and doing all the best we can to keep and improve their wellbeing.
· Commitment: understanding
In this task, I will look at the seven principles of the Care Value Base. The Care Value Base is a Code of Practice which care workers follow and must apply a level of care to service users according to the Care Value Base. I will look at one particular care setting, which will be a hospital, to investigate how they provide a high quality of care according to the Care Value Base. While on work placement at a hospital, I learnt valuable information on how a hospital follows the guidelines of the Care Value Base when caring for service users.
There are four core values, which are influencing my nursing practice and interaction with others, such as caring, integrity, diversity and excellence. First of all, a culture of caring is not only the main principle of the nursing profession, but also the ability to recognize the necessities of others, while a culture of integrity manifests administrative ethics of vulnerable communication, ethical decision-making, also humility are stimulated, anticipated, and verified constantly. In addition, a culture of diversity contains influenced by the connections with, such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, religious and political beliefs, etc. Also, a culture of excellence reproduces a commitment to constant development, enhancement, and understanding
For this I will treat people in my care with equity and respect their dignity at all times. I will make the care of people my first concern. I will work with others to protect and ensure safe health and wellbeing of those in my care, their families and the wider community. I will provide a high standard of practice and care at all times. I will always be open and honest, act with integrity and always will uphold the reputation of my profession.
A nursing career and caring for the sick intertwine inseparably. It requires a tremendous amount of compassion and empathy to care for those who are in need. My philosophy of care is to treat others with dignity, respect and compassion regardless of their race, ethnicity or cultural background. It’s about treating people the way you want to be treated and to understand that sometimes the best medicine of all is kindness. In addition, not only is it important to provide effective and competent care to all patients, it’s extremely crucial to provide care that is genuine and compassionate. All health care consumers should be receiving care that reflects their values and beliefs.
dignity. Caring is present in all aspects of nursing and encompasses being fully present to meet
- Providing individualized care.Standards are set to ensure everyone is treated in an equal way. How we care for ourselves might be different to the way another person cares for themselves.
Person centred care is defined as health care professionals work together for people who use the health care services. Person centred care also helps to support the patient’s knowledge and also helps the patient to develop an understanding of their health condition and also gives them the confidence to effectively manage and make educated decisions about their own health and also the health care in which they receive. (Health Foundation 2014). This suggests that each individual needs to be treated with the same amount of respect and they also need to be treat equally. Furthermore, the RCN (2015) argue that important principles of Person Centred Care are respect, dignity and compassion. As professional it is important that we have respect for the patient as by doing this it will allow our patients to have respect for us and it will allow them to trust us as to undertake their care, also it will allow us as nurses to develop a threptic relationship with the patient, also the NMC (2015) state that we as professionals need to “treat people with kindness, respect and compassion” by upholding these standards it will allow us as professional to be person centred and also it will allow us to upload the person centred principles of being respectful, having dignity and also it will show us as being compassionate. Firstly within this essay it will include the four example and it will include information on how the four main principles patient centred care and how
My philosophy of nursing incorporates the knowledge, compassionate, competent with respect to the dignity of each patient. This philosophy is based on my personal and professional experiences which help me contribute to patient’s recovery and wellness. It is these attributes that gives me a sense of pride that strengthens my commitment to this profession. This paper explores my values and beliefs in relating to the patient care, as well as health professionals responsibilities.
The care values are a set of rules and guidelines that every care practitioner has to follow in order to provide services to their clients. The overall aim of the standards is to improve client’s quality of life by ensuring that each person gets the care that is most appropriate for them as an individual. The three main care values are Confidentiality, Equality and Diversity and Individual rights and beliefs. By achieving these care values we can improve the quality of care and allow all patients to be treated as an individual with respect.
Within Health and social care organisations service providers have a legal duty of care to every individual ensuring their care is a priority. There are many different key priorities which are essential within healthcare settings and to the provision of services for those individuals with diseases, illnesses or conditions. For example an individual’s safety and security, mobility, hygiene, intellectual, social and emotional needs are all priorities within a healthcare setting to ensure service users and service providers feel comfortable and confident in providing and receiving high quality care which results in good health outcomes. There are many approaches which can be taken to ensure these priorities are maintained within health and social care organisations. This is to ensure every individuals safety and quality care is of a high standard, for example approaches can be taken such as preventative measures, understanding that there are different treatments available, and having an awareness of palliative care and remedial care. Within my placement these priorities and approaches are of a huge importance to the provision of services for people with diseases or illness, care and treatment must be provided to suit each individual’s needs.
All health and social care workers have a moral as well as legal duty to protect vulnerable patients from harm or any risk, and always act in their best interest.
Caring - by delivering a high standard of Care a nurse can help their patient
Three values I think are important for the Health Care and all other seminars are zeal, openness, and compassion. All these are important values to have for the seminar because they will allow me to truly appreciate and learn from the experience. Zeal is important to have for any task or for a journey one will embark on because it enhances the overall experience. If one were to enter a task with apathy and boredom, then the encounter will suffer as a result of the disinterest, which may arise negatives feelings. Being passionate about what one does makes the work and effort much more rewarding, pleasurable, and even boost the quality of work. However, if one does not have such strong feelings for what they are doing, openness can help in transforming
of the most important values to up hold and promote in carrying out person entered care. All health
Values involve one's own reasonings and feelings about a fact. Lets take the first example, I have seen the person hitting a dog with stones and the dog which is bleeding because of him. I may feel that hitting the dog is wrong, but if I know that the dog has killed that person's son, then I may feel that hitting the dog is correct. Here, I am going through a kind of reasoning that is the dog has done a wrong thing to the person, so,the person can do a wrong
