1) One of your classmates sincerely believes he/she has an undiagnosed learning disability. He has difficulty typing notes fast enough to keep up with the pace of the professor’s lecture. You noticed the student recording lectures in your psych/soc/cog class so he can go back and fill in the blanks in his notes later on. However, the professor of this course has specifically stated that no one, including students with accommodations, is allowed to record lectures in this course because of self-disclosure that often takes place during class. At first, you decide to overlook the issue because you feel sorry that the student is having trouble keeping up and do not want to make things more difficult for him.

The objective of this study is to examine an informal learning experience such as how someone might have a fear of height or how a particular food or smell moves the individual emotionally or why someone develops the fear of elevators. For the purpose of this study the reason an individual would fear public speaking is examined and the importance of informal learning for gaining experience and confidence in public speaking.
Process of Determining if a Student has a Disability and the Responsibilities of the Teacher
Susan is a freshman enrolled at your small private university. She hopes to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in visual arts and maybe someday attend graduate school for a master’s in fine arts. Although Susan is an art major, she is required to take two English courses that require a great deal of writing. Susan reveals to you that she has an Auditory Processing Disorder. You learned in your EDCEP 853 College Students with Special Needs course that a person with an auditory processing disorder periodically experiences an inability to process verbal information. This learning disability (LD) can make it difficult for students to understand and organize large amounts of spoken information presented in lectures or class
I walked into Mr. Buzard’s classroom today and visited with the students until the bell rang. Mr. Buzard arrived a few minutes after. Since he was absent on Tuesday, the students had their assignment to turn in. One particular student keep coming back to ask Mr. Buzard a question about it. I could tell he was trying to bug Mr. Buzard with questions. My cooperating teacher told him to just go sit down and he would tell the whole class instead of having to repeat himself.
If I were to have a five year old nephew and I were to have to teach him something I would mostly likely use a combination of reinforcers and observational learning. Both positive and negative punishment would be implemented in the teaching process, as well as the observational part so that they all compliment each other. Most likely I would begin to teach him to play baseball and basketball since most, including myself, start around that age. Although, I would not be as hard on him as my brothers were on me when it came to sports.
Describe briefly how any idea from the article relates to a specific learning-related event or experience you had last term.
Incidental learning is where children learn through viewing others, or experiences that take place within their environment. Being a visual learner; I depended on learning through viewing for a majority of skills that I acquired. I think it would be very difficult to live life as a blind person. For this reason, I do think that an expanded curriculum is a great idea.
Identify an experience where you had to assess the needs, interests, and goals of a patient with an ethnic background, different from yours, that resulted in a positive learning experience. How did you turn the situation into a positive learning experience? Did you personally have to deal with any stereotypical beliefs?
Reflection is the method of analysing an activity with a view of changing an existing approach or adopting a new perspective on an experience (Nguyen et al 2014). Boyd and Fales (1983) state “that this process is central to understanding the experiential learning process”. According to Trottier (2015) Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) is the process of an organisation gathering and analysing information that is available to anyone. Websites and applications dedicated to Social media is one of the most popular in OSINT for information generation and wide spread dissemination; security and intelligence agencies can capitalise on these opportunities to covertly study, things such as terrorist group behaviour, cultural contexts and recruiting platforms (Zeng et al, 2010). The British Army employs small investigative teams that conduct an OSINT capability to deliver a similar effect.
The modern classroom has many challenges that face it. Shrinking budgets, less parental involvement, higher expectations, and growing class sizes, just to name a few. If this list was not daunting enough you also have the special needs students that have an array problems in your classroom that need specialized attention, lessons and seating. There are many forms of diverse learners from students who suffer from ADHD to physical disabilities to students with autism to ones that are bullied in school. There are so many things going on in our students lives we sometimes forget they have lives, pressures and disabilities that affect their performance and attitude in our class that have a profound impact on how they learn. For this paper I
The intention of this paper is to provide a critical reflection on my learning experience within the subject Designing, Implementing and Improving Processes. Changes do not happen all of a sudden. Therefore the reflective view of various activities within the subject is going to be discussed. These activities throughout the 12 week program include involvement in various discussion forums, group activities, specific assignments aimed on business process management, business performance attributes and metrics, benchmarking and purpose of lean production. Furthermore, this reflection will provide an overview of the approach highlighting that it does not matter what type of activity is required to do because the most
Being involved in this multi-disciplinary study tour has provided me with the opportunity to have multiple educational and confronting experiences that would otherwise be difficult to experience in Australia through a textbook. Whilst being in Sri Lanka we were able to be involved, tested and challenged at the various organizations, institutes, schools and hospitals. Visiting a wide variety of health systems throughout Sri Lanka provided an insight to the development of the country and the issues they face. The healthcare professionals were very specific and concise when explaining the ongoing problems they encounter and how they plan to target them.
Before I entered the Freshman Inquiry, Work of Art, I had no idea what to expect. My assumptions were that the class is what its name is, a course that primarily focuses on the studies and works of art while providing a platform for freshman students to help their transition in college. Though I had some accuracy in my expectations, the class went above and beyond, which made my learning experience as a student and as an individual more impactful. It covered topics that related to all of the University Study goals and provided outlets for me to utilize around campus.
My first foreign language learning experiences go back to 1993 when I went to the English Institute. That was located in Benghazi, and run by professionals from Garyounis University. I learnt how to speak. I had to learn a short dialogue every day by heart. The students were given a short dialogue, as a home work, to read and learn by heart with learning the implication. No listening or writing skills. Only Reading and Speaking. Grammar points were pointed out by the teacher and explained. Also, the teacher would monitor our pronunciation and make correction when necessary. The learning process was mainly reading, memorizing and come the next day and practice what had been learnt with other learners.
Is school the only place where one can experience learning? While knowledge can be gained in school, often we also gain knowledge through our experiences. Which help us improve our skills and open our eyes to new ideas and perspectives. Notably, real life experiences are just as valuable as education. Personally, I have been able to experience this first hand by; being able to learn a new culture at young age, household responsibilities , and participate in sports.
