Sirhonda Phillips Unit 6 Assignment Kaplan University CJ499 Bachelors Capstone August 15, 2017 2 Unit 6 Assignment This week we are asked to compare and contrast the justice system of a foreign country with that of the United States. That being said I have chosen a country I believe to be similar without doing any research prior. I am looking forward to see if my initial thoughts are true or if my research shows there to be a difference. We are asked to compare the two countries using 3 of the following five topics: Substantive Law Procedural Law Judicial Review Policing Systems 5.International Police Cooperation The three topics I am choosing to compare and contrast are the first 3, substantive law, procedural law, and judicial law. I feel that it will be a simple way of finding international law. In the United States “Substantive law consists of written statutory rules passed by legislature that govern how people behave. These rules, or laws, define crimes and set forth punishment. They also define our rights and responsibilities as citizens. There are elements of substantive law in both criminal and civil law” (Kadian-Baumeyer, p.1). How is this applicable? If a person is arrested for drunk driving there has to be things proven for it to work. They would need: The person was in fact driving the vehicle There was a reason the police pulled them over They are over the legal limit through a Breathalyzer or field sobriety test Comparing the United States
Unit 4 is the last unit for this class and for the last one; we were given the option to present our work to the class instead of writing an essay. We were allowed to choose the topic of our project which allowed the students to work on a subject to their interest. I partnered up with Giovannie (Gio) Legaspi for this project. It took a couple days to find out the topic of our project. We were looking through different commercials to see what they were trying to argue. We were thinking about the pro life and pro choice debate to be our subject but found it difficult so, we eventually decided to do immigration.
Two of these barriers are lack of interoperability (the ability to exchange information) among computer systems and privacy issues. The Markle Foundation fosters collaboration in both private and public sectors through an initiative called Connecting to Health, which seeks to improve patient care by promoting standards for electronic medical information. In addition, the Markle Foundation has provided information and promoted meaningful use and the development of HIEs
I’m always fascinated by the stories of successful entrepreneurs such as Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba and Elon Musk the founder of Tesla and Space X. It is not only because of they are famous but also because they found their investors who contribute to their success and have the right to take part of it. The curiosity of finance drags me into the field of commerce and investment. Finance, a comprehensive study, requires the ability of mathematics and understanding of the economic environments which are my two favorite subjects since I was in year 11. I got my first chance to access to the field of finance in 2017 through two internships: at China Everbright Bank and Nuoyuan Holdings, a subsidiary of Hanfor Holdings. Getting to
I have made some progress regarding my action plan. I haven’t attended any open days as yet but planning to do so in June so far and completed my personal statement. My first action plan regarding higher education was to get distinctions in all my assignments. So
Stress, we all have it in our lives and for some of us it affects us in ways we do not even realise it. This causes me great discomfort as this leads me to not even have the ability to begin my tasks as I am concerned about how I will be able to complete it on time. Once I am able to resolve this predicament I will be confident enough about accomplishing all my tasks and concluding these tasks to my best effort.
There are two legal terms “search” and “seizure”. The legal term search means to examine another's premises to look for evidence of criminal activity. Under the 4th and 14th Amendments it is unconstitutional for law enforcement officers to conduct a search without a "search warrant" issued by a judge or without facts which give the officer "probable cause" to believe evidence of a specific crime is on the premises if there is not enough time to obtain a search warrant. The legal term seizure means the taking by law enforcement officers of potential evidence in a criminal case. The constitutional limitations on seizure are the same as for search. Thus, evidence
On July 11, 2015 at approximately 1140 hrs I dispatched to Police Headquarters for a report of domestic violence.

Compare and contrast the California and US federal judicial systems in as many ways as you can.
The internal factors to be considered when planning the human resource requirements for an organisation are the internal planning force, demands for products/services, technological change, skill requirements, workforce profiles (age, gender, ethnicity, ability) and new markets. Internal planning factors are within the business to help the organisation change to cope with new methods of work or new demands; it may be the business is being introduced to new technology or new product lines. Also it maybe developing new skill so that the workforce can work more efficiently.
Just like everything else, women had to fight in order to be part of the jury. In 1870, Wyoming was the first to allow women to be juries. It was in 1957, when all women in the United States were able to be part of the jury. However only with federal court cases not state court, but this still did not stop clerks from refusing to call on women to be part of the jury. Women were still unable to be part of the jury during this time because of their gender. There was research conducted in the 1990’s that found women less aggressive than men and women tended to be more influenced by evidence than men.
In this week’s seminar assignment Professor Robinson discussed the requirements for the unit team assignment entailing the Peggy Hettrick case, as well as the due date.
It can be said that maybe this reasoning has some merit to it, when comparing the differences and likeness of both legal systems, which in the end is the same, an outcome, hopefully a fair and just one.
