I have an interest of being at a school where I want to be a vet tech. I would like to learn more about animals than I am now at the career center being in a animal care class. That would make my application complete trying to get into a school with vet tech classes. I would like to learn how to take care of sick animals and how the vet tech does x rays and all kinds of experience that I would like to see because i’m not getting that kind of experience at the medina county career center. Or to be a vet tech assistant because I love working with animals and it’s a type of career field I would really enjoy. One major part of all peoples’ lives is health care, without it society would have no way of staying healthy and happy, and people would also have no way of treatment in case of an emergency. This also applies to all the pets’ lives are shared with. A certain profession is also needed to provide this care service for all of the animals. The people responsible for this service are Veterinarians. There is a lot to learn about the career of a veterinarian, including all of the schooling required, what a vet does, all of the advantages as well as the disadvantages, and the future outlook for this career.

Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.

The career that I want to achieve is a Veterinarian. I want to become a Veterinarian after I graduate college. Want to become that, because I would like to help out animals that are sick and be able to make their owners happy. I would have to go to high school and go to classes to learn about health science. Then, go to college and learn more about science so I will be able to know what is need to become a veterinarian. I will get my degree in college and graduate.

For my subject I chose veterinary technician. I chose this job because I love animals. If you are a registered veterinary technician in Colorado springs, CO you get paid $40,000 as of November 20 ,2016. A certified veterinary technician is an individual who has met the minimum qualifications to be certified. Student loans is under 20,000 dollars. You have to have an associates degree to be a vet tech. It can begin right out of highschool. You have to take prerequisite courses in order to be a student. Some places will let you take these in highschool. Attending an accredited program would be good for your career.

The work environment in Vet Tech is stressful. In a Vet clinic, illnesses and injuries are more common in Vet Tech. One has to be able to handle being kicked, bitten, scratched, etc when holding, cleaning, or restraining an animal. Try to avoid getting injuries while working in a Vet. Watch for body language in an animal and have proper restraint techniques. To avoid illnesses, the Vet Tech should follow safety procedures. Illnesses can be caused by these things since they would be around them most of the time; Needles, bodily fluids, radiation and other potentially hazardous substances. (“How to Become a Vet Tech”).

I chose the career of a Vet Technician. This job is often confused with the veterinarian or veterinary technologist. These two fields are totally different than a vet technician. Veterinarian required eight years of schooling, where the Veterinary technologist requires a bachelor degree in applied science. The job of an veterinary technician is to provide nursing care and assist surgeries for animals. Think of it as a human nurse, and a doctor, the vet tech assist the veterinarian in diagnosing illness and injuries. Some other jobs a veterinary technician might have would be preparing an animal for a surgery like a scrub with germicidal soap, sterilizing the surgical utensils, setting up a room

Ever since I was little I was told that I was going to be a veterinarian. Well not quite I think vet tech is more of my area. I love animals they amaze me, and I love dogs the most.

It was a great opportunity for me to pull out information from what I learned in class and put it in practice. This helped me understand much more about what is going on under the recruiting process. When I was a child, I was always asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The answers ranged from musician, manager, doctor, and veterinarian. The last few years have helped me narrow down my career path and gave me passion to pursue a career in veterinary medicine—a veterinary technician in particular. This has been a result of the experiences and people I have encountered and a drive to better the profession.

All students are different. Some learn fast, some take their time. Some are extreme hard workers while some prefer to be a bit more laid back. Finally some, since it was in the directions, are brutally honest. My paper will try to resemble that honesty. It’s common knowledge that you, as the teacher reading this, have millions of other papers to read, and one cannot begin to truly elaborate on who they truly are without going way past the 2 page limit. I hope that you will still take me, my aspirations, values and opinions seriously even though I am ‘too young to know anything’. All students are different, but I can only do my work as a student to answer your questions with the best of my ability and give you a glimpse into who I am as a student.
