Teambuilding Comparison
Teambuilding videos are easy to find on the internet. There are numerous different techniques and opinions on training and teambuilding throughout the web. I found three videos to be the most interesting and will explain the different ideas throughout this paper.
Mull (2016) has a video that creates a theory that there are four main concepts to make the team stronger. These concepts include, not tolerating disrespect, overworking employees, having people with bad or toxic personalities, and not having enough interaction between staff members. Getting to know one another is important and it builds stronger relationships.
It addresses team dysfunctions of employees not getting along and having a negative environment.

He uses a care anywhere, care networking, and care customization approach. He states that humans invented hospitals in 1980’s and we need to re imagine it. His theory shows that hospitals and offices are full of infections and too expensive. The more sick and expensive healthcare becomes when staying in a hospital. He believes that care should be done at home first. Technology can be used to do vital signs and behavior monitoring even bloodwork done at home and online coaches can help you though the steps.
Networking is already everywhere and we need to eliminate the uncoordinated care and have staff who know more instead one piece of the puzzle. From cardiologists to gastroenterologists, to primary care. The lack of communication is awful. Doctors are not communicated and prescribing medications that interact with others and not knowing the next steps.
The third video from ehowfinance promotes creativity and working together to solve a solution. She mentions putting marshmallows and toothpicks and instructions with some details left out so the team have to use teamwork to get to the end goal. Another activity she suggests is just leaving them out and seeing what it’s done with them. This creates idea sharing, getting to know one another, and seeing who is a leader and a

I am currently interviewing with other opportunities. If management watched this video I think they may learn some things that could help keep the good staff in place. I think it would work tremendously in my organization. The teamwork is lacking and everyone wants to finger point all day instead of helping the patients out. Time is wasted by sending messages back and forth when someone could be taking care of the problems at hand and moving on.
I have not experienced any team work activities outside of our daily duties. Our phones are never allowed to be turned off for training or meetings so there is no focus on teamwork but more on not missing one call for the company. There is more of an importance on numbers and trying to make sure that work is getting done with no time for staff appreciation or networking. I think it would be very beneficial in order to stop and have some teambuilding activities and staff appreciation days to stop the burn out of staff.
Team work means that a shared sense of purpose is felt and a common purpose is identified. This bonds individuals into a team and creates the ideal scenario for success and achievement.
One of the more important skills students will learn outside the classroom is teamwork. This quality can not be taught it must be learned by experience. Members will be on teams to compete in competitions. Students must learn the limits and strengths of their team member if they wish to succeed. This skill prepares students for the team work assignments which will be required in classes, as well as in everyday
Team building exercises were engaged in to bring the team members together on a personal level. The exercises and the time together engendered greater loyalty, personal connections, appreciation for team mates, and common purpose. Genuinely caring for team members or co-workers should compel team members to always give their best in the interest of the
According to my viewpoint, the strength of our team is that we all work collaboratively and together and not only that we also listen to each other opinions
The team should then have frequent meetings to assess the team’s strengths and weakness; and how they can continue to utilize their strengths and strive to improve their weaknesses. The team should discuss a plan, as a whole, that can be used to achieve their goal, furthermore a plan for each individual to work towards the team goal or goals should also be established. A discussion about acceptable behaviors and actions needs to be addressed so members are aware of their responsibilities. Systematic evaluation should be put in place by the team to be able to review goals, see if they were reached, and how the plans to reach the goal were involved and if the plans they worked. I plan on teaching these skills by giving a power point presentation on the importance of cohesion and the effects it can have on a team’s performance, along with a guideline that helps them improve cohesion. I will give them areas to focus on improving, along with behaviors to avoid. Establishing an effective team goal and an evaluation of said goal will be included in the presentation. The reason for doing a presentation on cohesion is that the team needs to be aware of the impact cohesion has on their performance and how to improve their cohesion in order to be
Teamwork and collaboration definitely go hand in hand in the field of nursing. I believe that successful collaboration requires relationships that are respectful and mutual when making joint decisions about patient centered care and other disciplines. This week, me and another student were partnered together to embark on our journey of community health at the Keene Senior Center. Our assigned task was to interview two or more people with a set of questions in order to get a better sense of what this community setting was all about. In order to do this, we had to have a good sense of teamwork in order to smoothly feed off each other during the interview. Before going in and introducing ourselves, we decided to collaborate and decide how to carry
Having played a variety of team sports throughout my life, I saw a lot of parallels throughout the class work on team building between positive teamwork and success. Reading Five Dysfunctions of a Team and then applying what we learned from the reading into several team building exercise gave me a unique perspective on how to create and identify key team building skills.
Although a group consists of many talented individuals, team cohesion is the way these individuals work together to better the team and not just themselves. Team cohesion is essential for the fate of a group, and the videos watched all show similar themes of how team cohesion is formed and maintained. The initial source of team cohesion is the coaches and leaders that teach it to their teams, as well as the individual motivations to stay committed to their teams. Team homogeneity is important for team cohesion as it makes sure all members have similar attitudes towards their common goal, and finally one stage of the four-stage team-building model displays the need for teammates to become friends outside of the field in order to strengthen their
By integrating fish bowl discussions and Socratic seminars into curricular areas, it fosters cooperation and group work. I also like jigsaw projects, where each participant is responsible for a certain part of the task. Simulations and inquiry-based learning also work well, too, for promoting collaboration.
Communication is the key to success. A team without communication could never be successful. Communication is important because the group needs a clear goal and also they need to have shared objectives. For example, in football a defense needs to be on the same page; if two players on the defense are on different pages then the defense will not be successful. You need everyone to share the same objective in order to succeed, not just a few people but all as one. To ensure a team’s success, everyone on the team has to be accountable. Everyone has a job on the team to contribute to becoming successful as a whole. Also you need trust in order to become successful; you have to be able to trust in your team that they will give their all for the team.
Truly, in the United States many teams building company offer training to enhance work environment and performance. After, I reviewed many excellent team building businesses, I selected, The Corporate Teams. This company provides team building retreats and explorations to managers and teams. The Corporate Team’s purpose is to increase a higher level of job’s performance and leadership. The Corporate Teams combines a person’s mind, enthusiasm and skills, this way, employees grow trust and team commitment. In fact, the organization offers customized trainings, which integrate the specific business preferences and culture, including work place language and expectations. Indeed, the training event is generated in collaboration with the
The comparison video begin in each video with an introduction of myself and then introducing the clients. During this time I help everyone to get acquainted as I attempted to set the positive tone in my voice. I felt like I mastered that as I have several years of experience within the field of social work. It is very easy to change the tone of the group depending on the topic and the group leader. If the group is about loss or grief the leader has to come into group with a mono tone so it does not affect the group. A loud talking and over excited leader will not fit well into the groups. I made sure to the let the clients’ know my role in the group as I stated that I was a counselor. Throughout each video I set up rules with the group on how to respect to each one by in the graded video by announcing the rules. In the other video, I let them pass around my cellphone as a tool to indicate on who could talk in the group. I did encourage each member in the group for their issues by trying to deepen the purpose of how they were affected by the title of the group. Both groups were conducted in a safe environment for

The science of team building is an art. The uncontrollable variables are people. Just putting a group of talented individuals together for the sole purpose of goal achievement can be met with disastrous results. It can leave individuals left feeling unfulfilled and lead to costly mistakes in the long run. While team building can be considered an art, there are some methods and approaches that can assist with successful builds. While no approach is full proof, taking time to acclimate oneself with human
Also I would provide a big-picture conversation to both clinicians and Q1 staff in order to know the kind of environment they are working in. This will enable them to know that the change must happen whether they like it or not.
