The event was made because the Capitol wants to punish all 12 districts, so that they could be reminded of the the Dark Days and how District 13 went against the tyrannical and cruel Capitol.

Violence is started when someone feels emotionally disrupted or when an unexpected natural occurrence form, but all violence ends up hurting the victims and causing major injuries. To me, violence is when we are unsure of what’s around us and we let our desires consume us. This is very for youth violence since we act based on whether we feel angry or excited. When we feel depressed or hatred, we tend to let it out our system and towards someone else. Violence never really occurred to me but it’s all around me, from schools to neighborhoods, there is violence surrounding me everywhere. Although violence might not be direct or intentional, it happens and when it does, there are always casualties. Youth violence might start out small but momentarily, it would lead up to the victim suiciding, starting drugs, or possibly even go mental. Although this might seem really negative, there is always a way to resolve a conflict and helping to stop youth violence is a countermeasure.

Second, Singer noted that “violent programs can provide indications for the most functional behaviors in a particular situation” (70). If people have the wrong motives, then they are punished, but if people have the right motives, they are rewarded. Another form is drawing attention, “Aggressive children are more inclined to watch violent programs” (Van Der Voort 46). Once children watch a violent program, children are led to be more aggressive and therefore want to keep watching aggressive shows. Finally, the change in attitude towards violence in children are as researchers say that the “attitudes of violence decreases as the child gets more and more involved in violent shows” (Gunter 48). As children get older and older, their views of violence change for the worse; they no longer see how hurting someone on purpose is wrong. Over time, children not only become even more violent but also are increasingly getting more attached to the violence portrayed on television.

During the past decade, America has witnessed an alarming increase in the incidence of violence in the lives of children. On a daily basis, children in America are victims of violence, as witnesses to violent acts in their homes or communities, or as victims of abuse, neglect, or personal assault. The causes of violent behavior in society are complex and interrelated. Among the significant contributors are poverty, racism, unemployment, illegal drugs, inadequate or abusive parenting practices, and real-life adult models of violent problem-solving behavior.

Children are exposed to violence everywhere. They see fights at school, they see it on the news at home, they even see it on social media. In addition to desensitization children exposed to television, violence assumes that it is acceptable to use brutality to solve issues. Children mimic what they have seen in the media and apply it to a situation. Children often disregard the proper way to resolve a conflict and find their violent response okay and justifiable. In these circumstances, children are aroused by their actions and could desire to inflict more pain.
