The voting age for the United States is set to eighteen years of age. The voting age being reduced to thirteen is childish. The votes would be set off of judgment. Instead of people researching and actually learning something about the canedit or the reason of voting then they should not be allowed vote. Thirteen year olds are immature and find the littlest of things to be upsetting. There should be no change in the voting age.
To vote in a country the voters should at least know more on the fact of the subject. They should know the history of that country. The fact that thirteen year olds are still in middle grade school is that it is a childish move to let them vote. Even at the age of eighteen we have immature voters who just take the topics

They would not know what paying bills is yet, how to make economic decisions. Based on the age difference and reducing the age from eighteen to thirteen there is a five year difference. Eighteen is the most average age that students graduate, buy a house, start their own business. Once thirteen year olds start doing stuff like that it is in no doubt a bad idea to make them eligible to vote.
At the age of eighteen the voter would be mature and well educated and more likely to know more information on the subject or able to relate to the situation. As a eighteen year old would relate to the subject is that it would address the voters. As in a thirteen year old would be caught up in sports, discipline, school, out of school activities, clubs. The voting age is set for many reasons. It is set to eighteen for educational, transportation, self reliance, independence purposes.
It is important that the voting age stays the same. People should care what decisions are made and by who. The main reasons why the voting age should stay the same are immaturity. The voters would not know what the topic is on. The voters would not be able to provide their own transportation. The voting age should stay the
Sixteen-year-olds have already taken on several adult-like responsibilities. They can be taxed, they can get a job, they can drive, and they can sign up to join the armed forces. If they can do all that, and even be sentenced to death, why can't they vote? It just doesn't make sense that they can't vote.
They do not know what is going on in the real world. They need to know that the voting decisions they may make can have a huge impact on how the real world functions. They do not know what they are voting for and what may be the difference between the parties. The 18-20 year old girls/ boys may be counted as a legal but they have never had the chance to be a mature and responsible adult because most live with their parents and do not have to pay a bill whatsoever. Eighteen year old girls/boys do not even know what is going on in the politics world. They need to get more educated and do more
In the United States, voting is one of the few ways citizens can make a stand for their opinions and attempt real change. With the overwhelming importance of voting, it is very crucial that there is a large voter turnout. A huge way to increase the number of participating voters, would be to lower the age of voting from 18, to 16.
The brains are still developing in a young adults mind. If the age of voting went down anymore it will only be changing the legal age, but most sixteen year olds aren’t having their minds set on politics. It’s better to keep the legal voting age to eighteen so it’s fully developed adults that have grown from graduating from high school can vote properly. Politicians need to remember that eighteen is suppose to be the age someone turns into a real adult in this world. It’s better to keep the legal age of eighteen for real adults that can make real choices like
After reading both passages about keeping or lowering the voting age, I have come to a conclusion to keep the voting age at 18. I agree that lowering the voting age would decrease the percentage of participation.
The voting age for president is set at the age of 18 which is the same age as becoming a legal adult of the United States. This age is set in the theory that at this age citizens have matured enough to make their own decisions on whom to vote for and not be influenced by other people. At the age of 13 on the other hand you are far too deceptable to what or who other people want you to vote for. When you turn 18 you have more of a sense of independence and when act on your own thoughts more so than of others. The voting age should not be lowered to the age of 13.
Voting age is a big subject when it comes to voting like 16 year olds. They have school and other stuff to focus on so they dont have time to read up on politcs and learn every speech are presidents say i think voting should stay at 18 so we have atleast a age that might know something.
Even if the voting age were to be changed it wouldn't change how many younger people show up to vote. The U.S. Census Bureau shows that only 38% of voters in the 18-24 age group had voted in 2012; while close to 70% of middle aged and elderly
First lets jump in to the reason that lowering the age will increase the amount of voters participating. Instead of having only have 18 years or older voting the range will expand and allow many more people 16 and up to vote. Another reason is if the children of the family go vote it will influence the parents to also go to the polls as stated in “Top Ten Reasons to lower the voting age.” Also said in the article is at 14 years or older if committed
The articles portray the benefits to allowing sixteen-year-olds to vote. One of the advantages of the voting age decreasing is the increase in votes which would have a huge impact on the voting system: not only will it show how more citizens are getting involved but how younger people are paying attention and are familiarising
I personally feel that 18 is the correct age for voting, as there are many legal rights that government has allowed at this age, be it license to drive or minimum legal age to get married.
Lowering the voting age won't do anything but cause damage to our government. Only fifty one percent of people voted in nineteen forty eight. In two thousand and twelve the rate increased to sixty two percent, as long as the rates are increasing we should not be worried about it. It's proven that only thirty eight percent of people from the eighteen
In Americas opinion, Voting is very imporntant today. At some points it is frowned upon if you don't vote. I believe the voting age should stay the same, because when you are younger, say the age of 16, you dont think that much of politics or what happens with the laws or things like that. You would most likely be at school worrying about getting your school work done. Students would be too worried about school to vote.
I personally think the voting age should remain the same. No change is needed. If we decided to lower it, teenagers wouldnt make the greatest of decisions or choices. It would cause alot of political conflict, Because teens just don't think alot before they make dicisions. They dont have very experienced outlooks on life let alone politics and law dicisions.
Disscussions of lowering the voting age has been a subject that most do not want to subject to, but let's face it. The issue at large is that voters in later years will be majority of older people, the youth of our country need's balance. Which in fact should influence young voters to step out there and have a voice, Since it will be our children and our grandchildren living in this country when we are dead and gone. So in turn another issue we will face is the category of what elder's think is right and how the youth feels is normal, time has changed and majority of young adults are doing things now that would be frowned on in a early day and age.
