You have probably already heard all about the Walmart stores that are going out of buisness. Not all Walmarts are closing but a nice amount of them are. I have to be honest, thought, I'm not really surprised. Walmart has never been my favorite store. It's the store I go to when no other place has what I'm looking for, and there is just not enough time to order it online. Or when I need to re-stock on my camping gear. Yes, that's right, most of my Walmart shopping is done out of desperation for something I need. I know your probably wondering why do I feel that way? It's simple, when you think about it. It's all about the lack of quality. Not to mention the stores in my area are always a complete mess. If you actually do find what you are looking for the boxes are damaged, or open. The shelves are always a mess, and you can never be sure of the price without trying to find one of those price checker things. Which by the way are usually broken at my store. What seems to really draw people to the store are the cheap prices. Sometimes the products are good, and sometimes not so good. For example, several months ago I purchased some T-shirts …show more content…
However after doing a price comparison in my area they are not cheaper in the food department. I save a lot more money buying bulk at Costco or even at the local Shoprite without any coupons. Which brings me to the next point, coupons. They do accept coupons but they make it so difficult to use them at Walmart you end up not wanting to be bothered at all. The few times I went and used a manufacture coupon they inspected it for a few minutes (it was a coupon I received in the mail, so it was not even a printed coupon), like it was fake. Then after they had scanned it they inspected the item, even though the computer had already accepted it. The whole ordeal took way to long. Although this may be a lot easier now that they have the self check out
From a functionalist perspective, Walmart offers low prices on many everyday items, all under one roof, which our convenience first society makes a top priority. We know that a trip to Walmart will also, many times, offer us the opportunity to socialize with one we seldom see or talk to; everyone shops at Walmart after all. Unfortunately, this bigger is better mentality often times means small business owners can no longer compete and local businesses close; they simply cannot compete with selection or volume buying power. Let us not forget the guilty
Wal-Mart has opened Neighborhood Stores in several communities and the prices are higher than Dollar General and the regular Wal-Mart stores. Sometimes bigger is not better. You get what you pay for and convenience is the main product for me. Unless I am looking to purchase a high dollar item or a major appliance, Dollar General Store in the first place that cross my mind. I cannot remember what item I last purchased at Wal-Mart or
Wal-Mart’s variety of over 120,000 items, size and convenience makes it a severe competitor to any business. It’s unbeatable low prices are so unbearable even the social status of many cities or towns don’t matter and can’t even compete with Wal-Mart therefore they are forced to be terminated. This may be an example of “survival of the fittest” but this process is hurting the economy majorly and there needs to be something done about this.
Walmart is the go-to shopping center for most Americans, but are they fully aware of the negative impact Walmart has caused America? Many people shop where they can find everything at once and is in a decent distance from their home, but most shoppers don’t realize what they are really purchasing or the truth about the stores they buy from. If more Americans knew what they were really getting out of their shopping trips at Walmart they probably wouldn’t come back. Walmart has a privative effect on America more than people realize. The people they hurt in the process of trying to “Save money” and “Live Better” are the backbone of the business, the products they sell might as well be used, and their crime rate escalates more and more, and
I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Therefore, I am standing here in front all of you to make you change your perspective. I am strongly confident that I have found the evidence of their real existence to convince all of you.
Wal-Marts only good point is that it is a convenience. Wal-Mart is everywhere and is always open. Wal-Mart abuses their employees without their knowledge at all. Because of their prices being low, wage is even lower to make an over decent profit. Wal-Mart is a growing competitor to those who have enough trouble just surviving. It is easier for everyone just to back-off and let them do what they want, but they have taken advantage of that and the people do not like that.
once needs at a better price that local stores do not have but not so many are needed. Target would be a good example, they make good money, they pay better,

Ultimately, the value of Wal-Mart comes down to the community it is in. Many small towns have thrived after the arrival of Wal-Mart, and many have degraded. It is no question that Wal-Mart is one of the most popular and controversial stores in the United States. However, if it is right for your town must be a matter of great debate and consideration.

Being such a large company with many stores and employees Wal-Mart faces many issues. Some of the issues the retail giant faces are; wages, gender discrimination, and health benefits. It seems too many that Wal-Marts has lost its way. When the recession hit Wal-Mart laid off many of its employees and because of that consumers feel the shelves are not being restock and they can’t find what they are looking for. According to Bloomberg Business Week Wal-Mart went from having 343 employees in a store in 2008 to 301 employees in a store in 2013. Even though the employee cut seems logical it is costing the retail giant business. There is no man power to keep the shelves stock and give customers the great customer service that Sam Walton envisioned. (Bloomberbusinessweek)
Let’s say that you’re buying a Honda CRV for your family. You like the design, the color choice, and the texture. But the salesman tells you, “You’ll definitely need the remote startup. It can start the engine from 400 feet away!” Its only $399 more and you’ve already bought a car worth $23,445. That seems so insignificant to most people. But I’m not done yet. Let’s fast forward a few weeks. You’re out buying an Xbox One Halo bundle. Sound’s quite pricey. With the Xbox you can watch movies, play games(even with your friends), listen to music, use your favorite apps. There’s so much to it! On Best Buy , its around $349.00. You get it, and you’re satisfied. But wait, remember the car? You just paid $399 for a remote that starts a car, and roughly the same price for a console with such high computer graphics and computer processing? Nope. Either you’re really rich, or your being fooled in the economy, and I’m sure we can all agree that most of us aren’t rich.
by taking actions other than reducing consumer transaction costs and through devising new products and services. Wal-Mart.com will offer products from all 25 categories you can find in a regular Wal-Mart store. To create additional value, it will offer a richer choice of high quality products, for example DVD players and cameras. But not only will it offer these higher-priced items, it will also offer them as complements, which means that Wal-Mart.com for example will sell DVD players with a set of the latest DVDs.
Walmart strives to bring good value to its customers under one roof. They provide a wide variety of goods and brands at competitive prices.
