Whether one believes that Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, the Mafia, or the US government, it remains one of the greatest controversial mysteries of our time, yet in the minds of some people, his assassination was justified. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated by a joint effort of both the Mafia and the U.S. government. Both of these groups had good reason to assassinate him. On one hand, one group wanted revenge while the other group wanted to stop his progressive involvement in helping the African American community advance. The Mafia wanted revenge. In the documentary “The Kennedy’s” it is stated that Robert Kennedy, “made a lot of enemies in Washington” (The American Experience, 97th minute). The …show more content…

Robert Kennedy had concluded that the way American society treated it citizens of color was simply wrong. Many people, mainly those that hated African Americans saw him as a threat to their normal way of living and their normal way of treating African Americans. This too was a move that would give people, mainly racists and people full of hatred toward African Americans motivation to assassinate Robert Kennedy. The final report aimed to prove that the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy on June 5, 1968 was performed by one man, Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. He had just finished addressing a ballroom full of his supporters. The Biographical Directory of the US Congress says Robert F. Kennedy, “died from the effects of an assassin’s bullet at Los Angeles, California, June 6, 1968, while campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.” On the www.history.com website, it is stated that, “In 1969, Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (1944-), a Palestinian immigrant, was convicted of Kennedy’s murder and sentenced to death.
