Wedding Speech Delivered by the Groom
I’d like to start by thanking Alan for his kind words and also to thank him on behalf of everyone for footing the bill for today’s festivities………
Having had a wonderful spread and knowing what we have to look forward to tonight, I now understand why he had the heating turned off all last winter!
I was going to begin with ladies and gentlemen but on looking around I'm glad I didn't. So here goes.
Distinguished guests, those of lesser distinction, and those of no distinction at all……
Family, relatives, (new and old), in-laws and outlaws, friends, friends of friends, and freeloaders
Welcome to our wedding reception.
I would particularly like to extend a warm welcome to all our

I can honestly say I was overwhelmed when I first saw Peggy today. The word beautiful is just not adequate to describe how you look today.
Peggy as most of you will know, is indeed beautiful, she is also hardworking, intelligent………
And I’m sorry love, I can’t read the rest of your handwriting…..
I believe we make a perfect team.
I mess up, she tidies…….
She washes, I iron. (But if she thinks I’m ironing that dress, she can think again!)
I would like to offer my congratulations to Peggy for planning today’s event almost single handedly.
Wedding planning has never been an equal opportunities business, but she did let me sign the occasional cheque……
There are a number of people I would like to thank today.
First of all, to my wife……… Peggy.
Thank you for agreeing to marry me. I realise I’m getting the best of this deal, because all you get is me.
I know that today is the result of the best decision I have ever made, and I’ll try my best make sure you can say the same thing.
My mum and dad.
Thank you for supporting me over the years. We’ve seen some good times and some bad but I’ve always known that you would be there for me in either event.
Alan and Maureen
Thank you for making me so welcome in your family.
I now won’t be able to use the excuse that I’m a guest to get out of making a cup of tea!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank you for
She is a lovely girl and deserves a good husband. You're very lucky that she's married you, before she found one. Seriously though, the groom is a great guy and a real man. You come round to my house, turn on the sports channel and settle down, you even raid the fridge for my chocolate. You are also partially deaf which is a great male attribute.
When I look at the bride and groom, I feel such a kaleidoscope of emotions. I know that Kari has found her true match and I know that theirs will be a marriage of long standing. My heart is bursting with love for you two today. I know you have a wonderful adventure ahead of you, and with God?s blessing your marriage will last for decades to come.
Ceremonies and honeymoons would be inexpensive compared to the cost of the bachelor party. The cost of strippers and liquor really do add up.
I am both honored and flattered to have been asked to speak for this wonderful occasion. As I started to draft this speech, I thought, “What is the world am I possibly going to say?” (The majority of you listen to me speak enough during the day.) The word SUCCESS came to mind.
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen - I am the groom's father, Ken, and I have the great privilege of being best man. I have recently found out there are two reasons why J W asked me to do this job. 1) To make him look younger and slimmer in the photos. 2) Because he didn't want to burden any of his friends with the terrible prospect of having to give this speech.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the bridesmaids, I must thank Donald for his kind words. I must also thank all of you for coming today - I know how hard it is to get a day release.
But I would especially like to thank BRIDES NAME?s dad for his kind words and everyone involved for organising what I am sure we will all agree has been a wonderful day and really got GROOMS NAME and BRIDES NAME?s marriage off to a perfect start...
“It’s a great day to be here and thanks to everyone who has been involved.”
I want to take the time to acknowledge some team members that went above and beyond their designated daily duties this past Friday 12/02/2016 to ensure that the Men’s building stayed systematized, safe, and operating at its optimal level – amid the rush of Incident Reports, Missed Bed Checks, Missed Bathroom Chores, Intakes, and just an overall busy day! These individuals stayed calm, kept their composure, were attentive, and promptly handled the situations in a professional and customer service oriented fashion!
Andy Swenson: Thank you very much Mr. Fitzgerald it’s an honor to finally meet you, have a great day
Firstly, on behalf of the bridesmaids, I'd like to thank Mike for his kind words and reiterate how wonderful they look and what a fantastic job they have done today. I would also like to say that Sallie looks stunning - as I'm sure you'll all agree. Which really isn't that much of a surprise given we are related.
Victorian women hosting, the easier life was at home it was the easier job. The ability to earn contributed to Victorian women's independence, but at what cost? By Professor Pat Hudson. Victorian’s planned their party and their menu and prepared shopping list one week in advance. They also at the time, would wash and iron their tablecloth and napkins. To give tea party a true victorian flavor, use a lace tablecloth if possible.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the bridesmaids, I would like to thank Scott for his kind words. For once in my life, I find myself agreeing with him - they look stunning and did an excellent job today.
Lastly, a very particular thank you is expressed to my mum for her love, support as well as
Thank you for speaking so complimentary of me to others; when you do this, you place such value on me that makes me only want to be an even better person and you have helped me to find my drive again.
