No. 2 Discuss 4 or 5 most memorable events from the year 2017 1/10/18 Chuck Tepe The year 2017 was a very exciting and life changing year for me. There were a lot of ups and downs during the year, however for the most part it was the best year yet. From getting two new additions to my family, to getting a fun job, to even building a stronger relationship with God, 2017 has been a wonderful year for me. The first event from 2017 that I remember being memorable was when a got two new cats. Around freshman year my old cat died. So when my mom told me at the start of 2017 that we would be getting two new cats I was filled with joy. Cats are my favorite type of pet so when I learned we were getting two I was happy. We got the cats from a friend when they were just a few weeks old, and we have had them ever since. This was a very memorable moment to me, because ever since my old cat died I have always wanted to get another cat as I liked them more than dogs, and when we got two my joy was increased even more than just getting one. This, however is not the only memorable moment from my 2017. …show more content…
Throughout my years in high school, I have had a few jobs here and there, but for the most part I did not enjoy working at those jobs. However, when I received the job at the place I currently work at I was extremely happy. Some of the things I enjoy about this job more than other jobs is that it’s close to my house, I have a good boss, the people I work with are awesome, and the job itself isn’t that hard. This was very memorable for me, because I finally enjoy going to work every day whereas at my old jobs I never enjoyed going to work. However, this is not the last event from my 2017 that was
The most memorable thing that happened to me would have to be when I got to see my favorite sports team play, the Detroit Tigers. This was my first time ever watching them play and I was excited to see what I was about to encounter. It was a hot summer day when we went to Comerica Park, when we went to go see them play. Our seats we right on the first base line, a perfect spot for a foul ball to come my way. The Tigers were winning throughout the whole game up on the last inning Miguel Cabrera hit a walk off home run that won them the game. Going to the game was a great opportunity for me to get to see the skills and work that they put into the game. This helped me see just how important it is to work as a team and support each other on and
I realized after being able to handle an angry customer positively, I have matured working at Wendy’s. To be able to not step out of character when someone you don’t know is yelling at you because of tomatoes is huge. Having a job helped me practice professional skills. I also had to learn to save money because the same weekend I got my check I spent half of it. My first job made me feel like a complete adult, and although it was stressful, maturing is a step in life I knew I was going to face soon
2016, the year of change. My life suddenly turned upside down, inside out, and thrown all around. Over the whole year, I went through a multitude of events which helped me define myself.
The most memorable event in my life was when we moved out from Russia to a country that changes lives and is known as a dream land called the United States of America. When we sat on the airplane that was going toward the United States in August of 2004, we knew our lives are going to be changed in the way we always wanted them to. After twelve years of not going to school and being discriminated by Russian citizens, this moving to a new country was the most amazing, not just in my life generally, but for my entire family as well.
There are a lot of reasons 2017 will be great. I get to play hockey, have great friends I can trust, and have time for everything else! There are honestly too many reasons for just one essay, so there will only be a few.
This year has been one of the most significant of my life so far. I feel that about every year, but I think that 2016 is a record breaker. I’ve gotten my anxiety more under control, and I feel confident and comfortable in my skin. School-wise I’m still a mess. I’m still trying my best but not doing as well as I hoped, but soon all these grades will be meaningless and I can finally be free.
I got my very first animal in September of 2009. It was a dog and we named him Buddy. I walking into shelter trying to find the right dog to bring home. I was so excited to get my first dog! Thinking which one is going to be the one. When we walked in all we could here was barking. Walking by cages of cute puppies, then we found just the right one, Buddy!
There are three events that made me who made me happy with, my weird life, which are when I hit my first softball. When I did my first Sounds Choir play, you feel like the people who came to see the play came just to see you and only you. The day I became a big sister was the best day of my life. Doing activities with family is amazing and you feel like you can do thing. Playing softball, doing a play, and being a big sister makes half of my life.
In “Why 2017 was the Best Year in Human History” Nicholas Kristof argues that, despite anything negative that happened, 2017 was the best year for humans as a species. More specifically, Kristof argues that it is better to live in 2017 than any other time period in history. He writes “A smaller share of the world’s people were hungry, impoverished or illiterate than at any time before. A smaller proportion of children died than ever before. The proportion disfigured by leprosy, blinded by diseases like trachoma or suffering from other ailments also fell.” Kristof is suggesting that 2017 was a year of increase for the human species. In conclusion, Kristof’s belief is that 2017 was a exceptionally great year.
A long time ago, someone must have blessed me with the curse of, "May you live in interesting times". I have never really had a boring time, even when I tried. I helped run our family jewelry business for 30 very good years, had the bonus of living with both my parents and grandparents in one house for many years, and I know I can turn this 2-3 page essay into 10-13 pages, easily. Out of all my craziness, the best memory, other than my daughter, would be when my husband brought home our two “foster” dogs from Alabama. Which gave us five dogs in total, Pink (she is a Dutch Shepherd and Randall’s service dog), Gibson (my male German Shepherd puppy, he was very protective of me and maybe training for k-9), Telsa (our other German Shepherd female, she was training for search and rescue) and then Chance and Tyson.
In James 4:14 (NIV) God says “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and vanishes”. Even as a 28 year old I can see the reality of these words. My life is short, and it is important to make the years I have on earth count. In order to make sure I am spending my time on earth wisely, it can be beneficial to reflect on past events from my life. In this essay I will discuss some positive events from my timeline, key transitions that changed my life in a positive way, negative events in my life, and key transitions that changed my life in a negative way, and finally I will discuss what I discovered about myself through this mapping exercise. In addition I will also explain how I feel, and give a short summary of my life.
Last year in December was the best month ever. After my first dog died, I always begged my parents for a dog. I was sure at one point we will have a dog. My parents always thought about getting another dog, but never decided. I became mournful about the situation. Until one day we were at Pets Smart to look of cat food. We bumped into a lady who my mom works with. My mother who is certainly very outgoing started to talk to her for a long time. She asked us what we would think about adopting a dog. On that day, I did not know that a few years later that dog will make me the responsible person I am today.
It was my birthday. Two things that I never thought would happen. One was me getting a chocolate lab I named Hazel, the second was losing a loved one. These two thing happened on one day that I will love and hate for the rest of my life.
My most memorable childhood event was when I was 15 years old. It was the Fourth of July. A big family vacation a barbeque, over night stay and out of town trip to six flags, and I had a blast the night before me, my mom, sisters and brother packed our bags to stay the night over my cousin house in Goodlettsville ,Tennessee. She had the biggest house ever I thought it was a mansion; six bedrooms two an half bath, a swimming pool, a game/movie room with a nice big kitchen. It was something that I was not use, knowing that we stayed in a three bedroom based on an income apartment on the East side of Nashville.
Throughout life I have had many memorable events. The memorable times in my life vary from being the worst times in my life and some being the best, either way they have become milestones that will be remembered forever. The best day of my life was definitely the day that I received my drivers' license. This day is one of the most memorable because of the feelings I had when I received it, the opportunities that were opened up for me and the long lasting benefits that I received from it that still exist today.
