The mandala I made represents many aspects of my life. Not only does it represent me, but the people around me. I used many symbols to represent all the specific parts of my life of my life, well most. The mandala is represented in levels, the first level is the best and the last level is not the best. The symbols that represent what's most important to me are at the top and the least are at the bottom. The first level is God because it represents my religion and what I believe in. The second level represents my family because I love them and it reminds me of the summer days we spend together. The third level represents my friends and the bond we have together. The fourth level represents money because it makes me and the world go round. The …show more content…
I love nature and traveling because not only can i enjoy this with my family but with my friends. Traveling has and will forever hold a special place in my heart. Sometimes i'm forced to go somewhere far with my family when i really don't want to but seeing them happy and enjoying themselves makes me happy. Whether it a road trip sitting in the car talking with my family laughing having a good time and looking at the things buildings and statues out the window to sitting in a plane alone because your parents can't travel to mexico, i still enjoy it. I love traveling but i also love nature like camping with my family by the beach watching the fire blaze to the sound of the roaring waves and smell of the cloudy sea, being the last one to sleep i usually have to turn off the fire which leaves that silent dark time period where all you see are the stars and clouds and the sound of the wind through the trees. I also enjoy doing these thing with my friends and seeing the way they react to certain things and ask you questions about what things are, telling stories and jokes all the way up until our destination, like the avid trip. I love doing these things with friends and family because i have to enjoy my time on this horrible world and make it worth it, we all have to go sooner or
Forests, lakes, and rivers are the places I love to spend my time. No matter what I am doing outside I will always be happy. My favorite part about being an outdoorsman has to be dressing for the weather. Living in Minnesota I learned the weather can change overnight, and I am always prepared. My eagerness to be outside was influenced by my family at a young age. I enjoy hiking through beautiful forests and cross country skiing over frozen snow covered lakes. I spend so much time in nature I learn to appreciate things on a whole different level. Nature has so much beauty and mystery it cannot be
The symbol at the top of the mandala is an army medal, which symbolizes one of Clary’s
While drawing my mandala, I felt it would be easiest to incorporate the feeling of desire and sadness through drawing. I chose certain symbols to incorporate a moment of my life where it was only filled with sorrow and sadness. The colors chosen were red and black to show red as a sign of pain, and black as isolation and sadness. The symbols used were; an eye with a red pupil, cracks surrounding the eye, falling red petals, broken shards, and a black surrounding. Each symbol representing something different, but connects with all the other symbols.
My first picture I chose under the symbol of God is life. This picture of life from God is very important because I believe that everything happens in God’s creation. Without God, there would not be humans or any living things. Without that there would not be any earth. Life is a major symbol for me because
Another important symbol in Buddhism is Buddha’s footprints. Followers believe that the footprints symbolize his presence in their lives. This is important because it is a reminder to them why they are following the teachings of Buddhism. According to the article Brief History of Symbolism in Buddhism, it states "Footprints of the Buddha traditionally symbolize the physical presence of the Enlightened One. This image was reproduced from a rubbing of an ancient stone imprint at Bodh Gaya, India, site of the Buddha's enlightenment." These footprints date all the way back to when Siddhartha was alive and was enlightened, and
As quoted in Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, “The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure.” Adventure is what takes you outside of your comfort zone. It’s what sets us apart from every other species. Unlike any other animal, we can enjoy partaking in adrenaline-inducing activities that no other animal has the consciousness for. Adventure is exhilarating and spirit-magnifying. It’s is the essence of what it means to feel alive. Adventure to me is about finding excitement and giving our lives flavor. Without adventure, I think my life would be rather mundane. There is little thrill in safety and conformity. I think it’s extremely healthy and even necessary for the human spirit to not always feel assured
For example it’s in Movies, Books, Music, Tvshows, Paintings, Pictures. Nature is really a peaceful and beautiful place to be in because it can relax you and it’s fresh. The sounds of the birds with a nice view is really somewhere you can relax and take your stress out.My personal experience is when i went to Mexico and there was a hill and we climbed over it and there was so many trees and an a little river it was nice and peaceful. The nature now is better and then at times bad because so many people pollute the world and it gets dirty like the waters and rivers get really dirty. But other than that the view is really nice.Just imagining it gets me happy and peaceful because you can just relax there and not
For me, reconnecting with nature is a part of the human experience and being in touch with nature can add to the realms of creativity and meditative stillness in one's life. I hope the future people will be able
The mandala provides a religious experience through visualization and are often employed to dissociate a human from their ego and the egotistic perceptions humans tend to cling to. Creating a mandala takes a lot of time and
Being able to travel with my family is a privilege and a lot of people can't do this because of many reasons. Freedom of traveling shows the greatness of what it means to be an American. To be able to have the opportunity to just hit the road and discover what's out there in our vast big nation.
My first experience with nature was hiking at Monrovia Canyon Park. I’ve never really been too fond of nature, mainly for the unsanitary conditions and my fear of vicious animals. I honestly never went hiking because unlike some of my friends, I never felt the need to be near nature and I never understood the beauty that everyone saw in it; I always had more of a negativistic approach towards the environment. In the end, I was surprised to actually enjoy the short three mile hike. I hiked alone with my friend, N___, and we were both very energized and excited to begin hiking, even though it was way too early to be up on a Saturday morning. We were doing great until about half of the trail, where we had to walk up steep and narrow dirt hills.
Since I was young, I have always had a busy schedule. With school and two sports, I rarely have quality time with my family. But all that changes when summer break rolls around, and my family goes on adventurous trips. On every single trip my family and I have had a great bonding experience and it gets better each year. Every summer has been exciting and has led me to travel to all 50 states. All of these experiences have helped me to appreciate and bond with my family.
I had really wanted to try and draw concentric circles on the paper, and believed it would only look visually appealing if I had perfect circles, so I purchased a protractor on my way home from school that day to try in this Mandala. I initially drew the larger outer circle, then drew smaller and smaller circles until I made it to the middle. I noticed that the tip of the protractor had actually pierced a hole through the paper and as I looked though the tiny hole I was inspired to turn the entire Mandala into somewhat of an eye, so I drew a pupil in the middle. I then chose to work with colored pencil and fill the rest of the page with colors. I used a brown color in the middle to go along with the eye theme, but then I decided to make the entry more intricate and drew squiggly lines in the next circle, followed by a complex kaleidoscope pattern. I wanted to progressively return the patterns back to a simpler and calmer design, and ended up with a yellow star near the outer edge, almost looking as if it is the setting in which the eye had been mounted, like a stone in a ring. For me, this gave the Mandala a very stable feeling, I feel as though without it, the image may begin to swirl. I also chose to set the Mandala into a softly swirling background. I found that I really enjoy making Mandalas and that it does not have to be geometrically perfect to still be visually
The labyrinth is a symbol that represents our spiritual journey. It is a path, a tool used for meditation and prayer. It is a suitable representation for a spiritual journey due to as in the labyrinth we make a journey to the center and back; in our spiritual journey we make an expedition to the center of our personality, our deepest soul, using our heart to guide us and seeking wisdom, clarity for our soul, looking for love and God.
Walking through the trail full of mud and leaves always made me think about my life. It was always there when I needed to walk and get things off my mind. Looking around watching the leaves fall off tree after tree flying like butterflies, all different colors. When they stopped, they immediately died and they were not coming back alive again. Piled leaves filled up under trees and children ran and jumped on them like they were pillows. These trees tripled the height of humans with numerous branches holding hundreds of leaves. While walking the river flows and it is such a beautiful view with the sun shining right off of it. The ducks and little birds chirping and floating through the smooth water puts a joy to my face.
