When I was very young, my science teacher taught me Charles Darwin’s evolution theory, and I never doubted that theory since Darwin is a well-known scientist and the authority in the field of biology. Until one day, I became a Christian; I need to accept another theory which is that human beings are created by God. My knowledge had a crash. I have never seen neither earlier species develop to human beings nor God creates human beings by using mud. That is when I started to question the knowledge that I have acquired from all the areas of knowledge. Why I am convinced by the theories? What do I or should I really believe?

As he has been right for a long time ergo I assumed there is enough reason to believe he is right for this time as well. Since there are not many potions and are not many theories that I known of are competing with Hawking’s. I am sometimes convinced by one natural science theory simply because that the scientist who came up with the theory is the authority and there are not any other theories to believe.

This means that when we are investigating something we can look at a theory and that can direct the direction that the investigation goes. Some would believe that evolution is a theory that scientist made up to convince us that there is no God. To be a scientist does not necessarily mean that you cannot believe in God. Author Karl Giberson backs this by stating “…the majority of scientists are not hostile to religion and many of them are actually quite religious.” (Giberson, Say It Ain't So 359). Thus, believing that living creatures have evolved over time does not mean that you cannot also have religious beliefs. One theory does not necessarily have to be completely separate from the other.

The title of said book is Assholes* A Theory. The ideas covered in this book are all about what makes a person an asshole and the concepts surrounding the different possible types of assholes. However, the question stands, does this book present a legitimate theory?? The answer to that is no; the book Assholes* A Theory by Aaron James does not demonstrate a theory as it lacks qualities that are essential to theories.

Karl Popper was critical of inductive methods used in science. He argued that there is a chain of justifying arguments that could never be complete, therefore an original statement that is made can never receives the justification that it needs (Popper 505-506). He was a firm believer in the concept of falsification, emphasizing that we can never be sure that a theory is true but we can be sure that a theory is false. He continues to explain that all inductive evidence is limited: we do not observe the universe at all times and in all places. Popper identifies that no matter how many observations are made which confirm a theory there is always potential for future observations to refute the claim (Popper 426). The scope of Natural Sciences is to create principles, theories and laws about the natural world. Natural Sciences theories and laws are based on a scientific methodology (hypothetico-deductive method ). The scientific method always tries to connect theory and observation, this is one manner to consistently organize our observation of the natural world . Experiments are often used in order to replicate aspects of the world in which we are interested. In fact, following this method before stating something to be true scientists needs first to arrange an hypothesis then make some tests in order to prove the theory and finally make up the law.
