On May 31, 2017, an immensely enthusiastic Devan woke me from my slumber for our first Cardinals game as a couple. Devan, running frantically, jumped onto my bed, waking me up from the best night’s sleep that I’ve ever had in my life. I was well rested and ready for the day ahead. He ripped open the curtains, allowing the blinding sunlight to bleed into the bedroom. In an attempt to keep me awake, he tickled me for minutes on end. The only thing it did was to annoy me. After having Devan tickle me so much, it was time to take on the journey ahead. After rolling out of my cocoon of warmth, I got ready for the day. While getting out of bed to get ready for the baseball game, the temperature in the room dropped below freezing point because of …show more content…
We were seated quickly, but our waiter was nowhere to be seen. It seemed unusual because the restaurant was not swamped with customers, with the exception of a few not being served by our waiter. The waiter finally asked us what we wanted to drink. After twenty minutes, he showed up with our drinks and bread sticks which tasted like it was a day old. While he was still there, we decided to order our meals, that way it would not take all day to get our food. Before that day, Devan had never been to an Olive Garden, so he took forever to pick out the type of tomato sauce he would want on his gigantic amount of spaghetti. The waiter then left to take the order for the other workers to make the spaghetti. We received a salad to eat before our actual food came out, but we had to order it with no sauce because of how picky I am when eating a salad. Waiting for our server to bring our food seemed as long as waiting for the bell to ring at school. The waiter was unfriendly, especially when he brought our food and filled our drinks. After finishing our food, we had to wait twenty minutes for the waiter to bring our check to us, since without it we couldn’t pay the very overpriced bill. The baseball game was impeccable compared to Olive Garden. As Devan parked the car in the parking lot, it was easy to see the Arch stretching as tall as the other buildings around. Busch Stadium was a spectacle to see. The glistening of the red makes it impossible to
After several weeks of 100 degree weather, the forecast is for temperatures in the low 90’s. The weather forecaster says, “We’re expecting temperatures in the low 90s. I might have to wear my coat tomorrow!”
I was freezing and shaking and too hot at the same time. I asked the guards if they could turn up the heat. They laughed and instead told me to go use an extra blanket. They know we only get one blanket. (King 2018)
When I arrived there, there were 3 people in front of me. It took 1 minute 56 seconds to get to Pepper, who took my order. She asked if I've been here before and I told her yes, she said ,she asked me my name, asked what kind of pizza, and then asked what toppings and what kind of pizza I was ordering. I told her 1 and she moved my pizza over, telling me Charlotte will add my sauce. However, Charlotte was finishing up with another pizza so Pepper decided she'll add the sauce. I told her "White", even repeating it, but she put red sauce on. Before I could correct her she added the sauce but I decided red sauce was fine. She then gave the pizza to Charlotte who asked what kind of cheese I wanted. I told her mozzarella and she put the cheese on
The restaurant had two drive-thru lanes, both opened. There were seven cars between my car and the point where the order was placed and I placed my order through a speaker box. I spent 12 minutes and 33 seconds in line before I reached the Order Point to place my order. Within 13 seconds of arriving at the speaker box to place my order, I was greeted in an enthusiastic tone. The Order Taker received my order in a friendly and professional manner, repeated my order back, and provided the price. After saying "thank you" she cheerfully responded, "My Pleasure!" The associate at the window and that handed me my order smiled, made good eye contact, and asked, "Welcome to Chick-fil-A! How are you?" After saying "thank you" to the Cashier, he responded
I pulled my sweater tighter trying to lock out the cold weather; I should have listened to my mom about this. “Wear your jacket, Farah, It’s going to be a cold one!” Her words echoed in the back of my head like an endless loop; I knew something like this would happen. I started power walking in attempt to get to my warm, cozy bed as fast as I could, almost there.
On Wednesday September 14, 2016 I went to your store to order a Hero sandwich; turkey with Muenster cheese, lettuce, mayonnaise, and tomato. It is a night special so the order is $2 off the regular price after 9 pm. I was in line and the man who was taking orders didn’t really seem up to his job sarcastically asking me “what do I want?” I placed my order. When my order came I saw the turkey still had some blood on it, and the cheese had hair on it. This was not alright with me. He observed me watching him and added sauce to the sandwich to cover up the blood and hair. I did not order or want the sauce. When he handed the bag to me he was very rude. I did not take the order or ask for my money back. I was very upset because I felt like he didn’t
I had just gotten out of the shower and felt as fresh as an ice cube, then later realized it was the beginning of October with cold weather. I changed into my light gray pajamas and walked to the kitchen to get a snack. Before reaching for the delicious strawberry poptarts that had just came out of the toaster, the house phone rang. I ran to i fast because I didn’t want my poptarts to get cold.
One day last week I decided to take a trip over to Chick-Fil-A in Ridley, PA. It was about five minutes away from my house and I was craving some type of chicken. The two deciding factors which helped my decision is that it was fast and easy. I went with a friend and we decided to sit down to eat as opposed to going through the drive thru. The employee who took my order was very polite and after ordering she had said “my pleasure”. I noticed this was the norm after numerous employees said the same to my friend. Although they are likely told to say this, it was a sincere gesture. I ordered a 12 piece chicken nugget meal which came with fries and a drink, and a chicken sandwich. After my first bite I was immediately amazed by the food and enjoyed my meal.
During one busy Friday night on a shift at Bella Italian I was faced with an incident of miscommunication between me and some customers I was called over to the table to take an order for four people , The restaurant was fully booked out and was very loud and noisy due to the surrounding people. As I noted down the order I found it hard to hear what the customers were saying and went off what I could hear clearly , trying to clarify with the customer when needed. After noting down the order I was a bit concern to see that there was only Three main meals for four people so I re read out the order to the customers to make sure I had noted it down right , They told me it was fine . I continued on , and waited on other tables. after about half an hour I was called over by the table four to ask where there entree was I politely told them you did not order an entree but they still insisted they did. Once I had organised the entree and their main meals were up I took them to the table and they insisted to tell me they had order two of one meal I told them I had read over the order and they had agreed to only one they continued to tell me it was to loud in here and they said they had ordered two and I had repeated the order saying I had taken down two which I had not. This incident that I experienced was caused by the concept of Noise.
Whenever we go to restaurants we don't really think about how much influence our waitress have on our experience in the restaurant. We subconsciously expect them to treat us well, even though we don't realize that they have the power to determine whether we have a good time or not. This story challenges the idea and importance of giving a tip, often time we don't realize the hard work the waiters put in to make sure our experience is pleasant. A server can do the bare minimum of taking orders and bringing food to the table, but it is the ones who actually put a little extra effort into their work that really connect to people and make them want to come back.
Ready player one is about a video game that has taken over everyones life. The holocaust and ready player one is simular because it takes over peoples lives, kills people, and in the end stops. The oasis was just a video game, and then it turned out to be killing people in real life. In the holocaust Hitler blamed the jewish people for all there troubles as a country.
There’s a fine line between an obnoxious, superfluous server, and a thoughtful, attentive one. Furthermore, a dining experience shouldn’t be impersonal or terribly intimate. The Spaghetti Warehouse offers a haimish environment that is good for large parties and small dinners out. The unique restaurant features a train car running through the middle of the dining room where guests can eat their food. The Spaghetti Warehouse also features two unique party rooms upstairs, and an entire downstairs area fit for parties and live music. The eatery is equipped with the latest technology but uses it wisely and in good taste. Olive Garden’s environment is family friendly, however, the visit can easily become boring and impersonal. When the guest is seated at their table, they are given the option to use a small computer sitting on their table. This small computer enables the guest to order all of their food without even making contact with the server. This misuse of technology can easily make the dining experience flop, and quickly puts Olive Garden in second place for good, humble
At the Southern Steakhouse, Hamilton location, two employees - Barbra Taber and Michelle Rhodes - have had three distinct, unreported drink conflicts throughout the month of July 2002 due to internal competition. Each one of these conflicts resulted in unhappy customers which is not ideal since the Southern Steakhouse is seeking to raise revenue. On Saturday July 13th, Michelle Rhodes had drinks, taking on average, 10 minutes to be made by Barbra Taber. On the same evening, Rhodes noticed that all other tables were served drinks before hers even though she entered her orders into the computer before the other servers. As Michelle Rhodes attempted to talk with Barbra Taber about the situation, Taber unprofessionally remarked, “I
Our server had a great smile and a beautiful personality. He came over soon after we were seated and asked if we wanted something to drink before he asked if we were ready to order. Once we had placed our drink order he left to get our drinks, when he came back he asked if we were ready to order. We were not quite ready but he told us to take our time and he would be back when we were ready. When the Ephraim came back we were ready to order, my guest ordered baby back ribs with Cole slaw, my other guest ordered the Norms Classic Cheeseburger and I ordered the T Bone steak with baked potato. He took our orders and said that he would be right back with our soup and salads. He arrived with our soup and salads in record time, served us and told
So, perhaps too many experiences like this have left you thinking “I should so telephone that place next time and get my order in, then go pick it up.” Great idea. Very responsible and forward thinking of you. Congratulations on your most excellent and superior adulting. Go ahead and order that extra appetizer. You’re worth it. Everything is going well, and you are still optimistic...right up until you call the number of your favorite spot and discover their Magical Land of Hold. The Magical Land of Hold is an inescapable limbo-esque nether-realm where you can wait any amount of time for a rushed and hurried kitchen or wait staff member to hastily scrawl down your order, and then pray everything is right and to your taste when you drop by to pick up your order. Worst of all,
