Ethics has several definitions, but according to dictionary.com, is defined as “the rules or standards governing the conduct of a person or the members of a profession” (Ethics). Ethics is essential in nursing, in all practices, specialties, and in all settings. The patients place their confidence in nurses to practice ethically since their life is technically in their hands. Ethics is so essential in nursing, they even wrote a code of ethics to use as a guideline for practice (Payne 2015).
