After a successful first season in the English Premier League, AFC Bournemouth would be looking to finish even higher than last season's 9th place. There was even talk of European qualification amongst the supporters, but the Premier League has become even more competitive in recent season's, with more clubs fighting it out for the EPL title and even more teams with aspirations to qualify for European competitions. But the Premier League can throw up the odd surprise (as in Leicester City), so who knows maybe this could be the Cherries year.

Defoe came into the fray to try and improve things, but it was Ryan Fraser and Josh King that provided Bournemouth with their best chances.
First game at the Vitality Stadium saw AFC Bournemouth host a Watford side who were also looking to bounce back from an opening day defeat. It was the visitors that wanted it more, with both their goals coming in the second half to get the 0-2 win. Once again as with the opening day, Bournemouth struggled to create chances in front of goal with just 2 shots on target, as opposed to the Hornets 7. Again Defoe came into the game to make a difference, but Watford appeared the more comfortable on the ball and looked the more likely to score.

A key performer for Glace Bay was Fred Courtney, originally from Donkin. In spite of playing for the cellar-dwelling Junior Miners, Courtney won the league scoring crown and did so in fine fashion. In the last round of the season, Churchie played an internal match at Brisbane Grammar’s fields at Northgate. The E / F teams were reduced to just one team due to unavailability, illness and injury. Parents and supporters witnesses a free flowing match which brought credit to both teams. The D team did however defeat the E, F team 45-17 in a hard-fought contest.
In the second half the Zips looked positive coming out very physical fighting for midair balls, but the Falcons counter was just too much for the Zips. In just six minutes into the second half the away team found the back of the net again, this time it was a shot from the Falcons forward Sam Howshar. The Zips found themselves in a deeper hole after that second goal, but this didn’t stop them from fighting back to close the Falcons big lead. Later in the second half, the Zips stepped up their defense and lead on threatening counter attacks from Ashley Amato which eventually lead her on another break away to score and put the Zips back in a close game. In the last seven minutes, the Zips were attacking desperately looking to tie and send the game to overtime but the Falcons goalkeeper found a way to shut the Zips from evening the game.
The next game was early in the morning against region 3 who is known to have some of the best players around nut after the end of the 2nd period we were tied 3-3. “Lets rush the the nat and try to score”, Matt our top scorer said. “No, let's just stay in our own zone and just play defence and not then them score. after we see a weakness we just rush ahead and attack!” said Joe, another player on the team. Coach Majors states that, “These guys just played with a lot of confidence and a lot of heart the entire season,”. He also states that Kamara, the late teen Liberian native who came to the United States three years ago, was the team’s top scorer of the season with 22 goals. On Saturday afternoon, 11,076 fans arrived at the Valley Parade stadium to watch Bradford City versus Lincoln City.
