Members of United Nation, I am a student in LCS that has studied about water crisis and read A Long Walk to Water. A Long Walk to Water was based on a true story. It is about how this character named Salva and Nya and they were both different stories that were told in the book at the same time. It is basically about water crisis in both of their stories.
Recently, I went to a field trip to this place called Nima which is known as urban slum area. We went there to study about the water crisis there. When we went there what was so shocking is that people there are so desperate to get water that they start drinking water that is not clean. This is important because it affects their health, when they drink that water it is so dirty that it gets

They kept walking until they came across a barn in which they spent the night, when Salva awoke in the morning he was the only one there, the group had left him. He walked outside of the barn and found a lady rocking on a chair, she gives him some peanuts to eat
Linda Sue Park’s novel A long walk to water is about the lost boys of Sudan, Salva ,a real lost boy, Nya, a fictional character as they go through tough times. In the story Nya and Salva have very tough times like Salva and the Akoba desert and the Gilo river, Nya and go to get water every single day. They learn to face their challenges and get through it all.
Suffering is an important theme in A Long Walk to Water because not only does Salva suffer, but other’s as well. The first example of suffering is when Mariel, Salva’s friend, has been eaten by a lion. What happens is that Salva’s Uncle had been reunited with Salva, but then at night Uncle had told Salva to sleep so he did it, but when he was sleeping,Mariel had gotten eaten by a lion.So Mariel suffers the death while Salva is suffering with sadness that his friend died. The second example of suffering is when Salva is walking to the Ethiopian, and his toenail break’s off while walking the hot desert with less food and less water. “ Salva and his group of boys had walked for a year and half” It shows
The Second Sudanese Civil War was an intense battle between the central Sudanese government and the Sudan Liberation army. The extensive fight lasted 22 years, one of the longest civil wars in history. Many people in Sudan were affected during this hard time, including Nya and Salva. In the book A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, the theme is perseverance. Salva faces many bumps in the road becoming one of the “lost boys” of Sudan, but he works through all of his issues while trying to stay positive.
There's many factors that leads to one's survival. A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park is a creative non-fiction story about the life of one of the Lost Boys from South Sudan during the Second Sudanese Civil War; whose name is Salva. His journey wasn't the easiest in fact he was at risk for dying at any given second. There were multiple factors contributing to his survival, his uncle, determination, and physical resources. Salva's uncle was one of the main factors. He gave Salva the will to go on so he doesn't lose sight of what's important. Traveling across the hot dense desert isn't easy. Given the circumstances survival wasn't likely. But Salva proved that with willpower the toughest challenges can be overcome. While
3. Nya fetches water at the lake by digging a hole in the damp clay leaked untilll seeped through at the bottom of the hole.
In the book, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, there are two stories that converge. Salva is a boy from the Dinka tribe that is trying to run from the Sudan Civil War. Nya is a girl that must collect water for her family every day, so they can survive. One good theme that appears in A Long Walk to Water is to keep moving forward toward your goal even when things get rough.
Linda Sue Park is very famous for writing the book "A long walk to water ". Salva is our main character of this book . Salva went through very difficult times as a young 11 year old boy . Salva lived without his family . In the middle of the book Salva has an uncle who is there for him
Dear Mrs. Linda sue Park, the book you wrote “A Long Walk to Water” has spoke to me and opened my eyes to what is really going on outside our “bubble.” Your book has a real meaning unlike some of the books I have read. I loved how you had put Nya’s part at the beginning and showed how their stories ended up crossing paths; That was a really cool and interesting choice it kept me wanting to read more. That was a great story to be told and I can’t wait to read more of your books. I think there are plenty more great stories out there to be told by a great writer just like you.
The tone of the excerpt A Long Walk To Water written by Linda Sue Park is exhausted. On page 52, it says that it was the longest day of Salva’s life. Then it says, “Each minute walking in the arid heat felt like an hour.” If you don't understand why this is so exhausting is because you might not know what Salva has been through. There was a war in his village, and he had to run away from it. He lost his family and has little source of food and water. The only source of water provided are ponds and the only source of food is 1 bag of peanuts they were given in the beginning. This shows that he is exhausted because he is only a child that has to walk somewhere and he doesn't even know where he is going. He doesn't have any family to be with him.
"A Long Walk To Water" by Linda Sue Park shows that even though Salva left his family because of war he still moved on. Salva is 11 years old and he is a Dinka. When rebels attacked his school he ran into the bush, leavening his family behind. After that, Salva joined many groups of people walking to Ethiopia. Later, Salva met a new friend and also learned that his uncle was part of the group but, both of them died, Salva's friend waso eaten by a lion, and his uncle was shot, and killed. Salva later arrived at a refuge camp but everyone was forced to leave. After years of moving from camp to camp, Salva was given a chance to go to America but, after a few years of being there he learned that his dad was still alive but was sick from drinking
Theme is a general topic that teaches the reader a life lesson. The theme of acceptance is frequently used in books as a life lesson to let people know they can be different. Acceptance is a big part of life in the past, present and becoming even more important in our world nowadays. Friendships, relationships, etc rely on acceptance to keep their connection. The world depends on acceptance to keep the nations together and not disowning a nation because of their differences but, the world is not all this way. As Clay Aiken states “In my ideal world, no child would suffer. Charitable instincts would be prevail. There would be global acceptance of all different types of people.” This shows that acceptance is not used in enough in our plant.

Globally, over seven hundred and eighty-three million people do not have access to clean water (The Water Project, 2016). Millions of people have to struggle endlessly to fill up pails of water for themselves and their families; however, this does not happen in America. Water contamination and access, or lack thereof, is a third world issue. The United States is a global empire, wealthy, and the land of opportunity; Flint, Michigan became a local cesspool, impoverished, and without basic drinking water. The visual of desolate villagers walking miles for water is not the universal or unique image anymore. The ordinary town of Flint became a national icon for water scarcity and paranoia. Water contamination, disease outbreak and widespread panic
