Who Am I?
Who am I? Truth is, I have no clue. That is the beauty within the madness of this journey i’d like to call life. I will never know who I am, until it hits me. Only then I will truly know my purpose. My spirit name, my clan and my colours are here to guide me through this intense journey of self-discovery, to help me answer the long and complex question of ‘who am I?’. It is through reading Life of Pi, that I started to reflect on the ideologies of other religions and spiritualities, which then, sparked an essence of wanting to figure out the meaning of several sacred teachings. To begin my story, we have to go back to September 1, the catalyst the day of my naming ceremony. This ceremony began with helping me find my name, my clan, and my colours. I was taught the importance of a spirit name which is that all of Creation has a name, so why shouldn’t I? As simple as this sounds, it is an intense ceremony, it brings you together with your spirit as one, which is a feeling that is indescribable. During this ceremony, I was meant to receive my name, my colours and my clan likewise, but that wasn’t the case for me. I was told that I have a gift, my gift is the power to heal myself and others around me. It became my new mission to find my clan, my family, as well as my colours, my protectors. Colours are probably one of the most important aspects of an Anishinaabe person’s life, colours represent power, they are equally as important as your name. When I say my name, my colours follow along. When I started asking The Creator for my colours, they came to me in a dream. I held my tobacco pouch close, I spoke to him, asked to receive my colours, explained that I want to figure out who I am. That same night, it felt as though it was a lucid dream, I saw orbs of magenta, sunset yellow and a beautiful burnt orange. When I woke up I thought to myself ‘these are all colours that are featured in my murals, maybe I wanted this to happen?’. But here’s the weird thing, The Creator works in mysterious ways, it is taught to us that there is always a balance in life, dark comes with light, good comes with bad and to give is to receive. I was given my colours, and in exchange, The Creator took my tobacco pouch.
Who am I as a Writer? Many have influential ways of writing, but my writing is based on my point of views on topics. I would describe myself as a hands on person when writing. I always like to write somewhere where my head can be clear, or out in nature. I connect with the lake where I live at the most which is, South Holston. I live about four miles from the lake and I always love to go there to think of writing topics.
Colors are apart of our everyday lives. They help us on dreaming, creating and increasing youthfulness. The author used colors to illustrate an importance behind objects, emotions, and characters. The various colors symbolize location, character traits and appearances.
As we all know, color is the voice for the artist 's sentiment. It makes up the appearance of a picture. Color is the decisive factor in depths of the two-dimensional plane of the artwork, making the viewer feel physically and mentally attracted, or the context of things - the phenomenon the author wants to present. Colors have been around for a long time, but there is not a common definition for colors. And perhaps humans are one of the luckiest creatures that can identify colors. Often, the recipient 's eye knows a myriad of colors and colors that always change based on the relationship between light and perspective. In art, color creates a sense of
You want to know what shaped/molded me as student. Wow, that's a funny qurstion! I believed I didn't know what made me who I am, but as I look back and forth, I realized, it was me. I am my own motivation. I don't look up to anyone, I just look forward to something. I am a believer, dreamer, achiever, and wonderer. As I look around me and see how my family and others of a different and same ethnicity living their whole life on a budget, barely making ends meet, I tell myself I will be better and become better. I will not let my surroundings select or change the way I am. When I was younger, I believed everything would just come and fall into my arms. I wanted to be all of the occupations I seen on TV. I planted in my head that I would be a
Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright red and golden-yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive.
In certain cultures, colors are considered sacred. Colors can also be considered symbolic ,especially in art. In the ,Adoption of the Human Race, the main colors are a muted blue , a shading of yellow to dark brown ,black ,white and a secondary coloring of vibrant yellows and reds. The painting is that of Native Americans. In the Native American culture the color blue signifies wisdom and confidence. The chief is depicted in all blue. The color blue correlates with the role that is personified by the chief in the painting. The sky backdrop is black , black means strength. The black sky encases both the eclipsed moon and bolt of lightning. Creation and chaos can each be infused by power. The color of the people as brown in two different shades identifies the difference in one race, male or female. The yellow ,in the Native American culture, does not embody happiness, yellow symbolizes death. In the painting, the yellow object emits a feeling of detriment. First glance, you automatically think it is the sun, but you never get a feeling of warmth . A closer look, the object depicts an explosion, doom. The yellow explosion then brings solidarity to all the components in the painting .
A human being is described as being a creature capable of questioning concepts such as “who am I” and “why am I here” in order to give meaning to their existence. (Creech Ph.D., 2015)
On the Holland Code Quiz it told me i would be more successful at coaching, a fitness trainer, and a physical therapist. However, on the Who Am I test it just wanted to know my personality. It told me i’d be good at helping, teaching, treating, counseling or serving others thru personal interactions. I feel like the things both test told me are possibly correct. Let's summarize by saying this, there is only one "I" in the universe. This universal "I" is one-and-same to that which you identify as you as an individual, when you introspect upon your own existence, although from the perspective of your individual, you are unaware of the universality of your own being. It is to be understood that when I say that there is only one "I" in the universe, I am implying that there is some significant sense in which the matter of which I am composed is identical to the matter of which you are composed. Since our own being is driven by the search for purpose, it is this, the search for the meaning within meaning, which drives all of us. If you haven't got meaning in your life, then you haven't a reason to live at
Who are you? What defines who you are? Why makes you who you are? What is your personal identity? Have you ever sat around pondering the meaning of life, or maybe just your life? Have you asked yourself any of these questions? What were your answers? These are questions that people have been trying to answer since the beginning of time, before me and you were ever born or thought of. People live their whole lives trying to figure out exactly who they are and what their purpose is in life. In the field of philosophy, many philosophers have had theories on personal identity and a person’s “self.” These people have gone down in history books for their theories on a person’s identity: John Locke and Rene’ Descartes. These are two of the most
