Who is more valuable, the woman or the man? Men are strong and are critical thinkers
who know how to organize and take charge. But wait, that just describes one individual, for not
every male holds those qualities. Let’s look to the woman, then. Women are gentle and meek,
the child bearers of the world, who know how to cook a scrumptious meal. Oh but, not every
female fits this character description. Could it be then, that every living soul is equal to one
another and that neither one is more dear than the other? Perhaps we all have a purpose to serve
and that each personal purpose is just as important as the next. Feminism is destructive for
society because it promotes partiality, dissension, and degradation.
Instead of wanting unity, the feminist screams, “EQUALITY!” Many view feminism as
simply women who want fairness in all aspects alongside men. On the contrary, feminists want
to be valued over men. They would like their accomplishments to be seen as more precious than
that of a man’s because they did something while being a woman. Not only do they have a
narcissistic view, but it feels as though feminists have a strong dislike for men, and even go to
great lengths to tear them down and magnify and prey on their weaknesses. Feminists insist they
are stronger than any man, and can do anything better than a male can. A truly strong woman
understands that roles have been given to men that women can not fill, and roles to
“The Declarations of Sentiments and Resolutions” by Elizabeth Cady Stanton is an interesting and persuasive essay on women's rights and equality. The essay uses pathos, logos, and ethos to capture the reader's attention and draw them in into this argumentative piece. Each appeal deeply exercises the importance of equality for both men and women. Throughout her essay, Stanton uses pathos, logos, and ethos to draw the reader's attention and persuade them to stand up for women inequality.
There are many different types of feminists, there are Radical Feminists who are the most extreme in voicing their opinion about gender and the rights of women. There are Conservative Feminists, who adopt and appreciate the male need for a career and public achievement as female goals, thereby denying women 's need for intimacy, family, and children. There are Liberal Feminists, they see everyone as equal. They believe sexism as a dysfunction in society. There are also Social Feminists, who link gender differences to class as well. They see it as sexism rewards the working class male and allows them control
Feminists today are viewed as raging, man-hating bitches, but feminism in its true sense simply advocates women’s rights. While there are extremes on either side of the scale, most feminists fight
What does it mean to be a Feminist? Does it automatically mean you hate men or does it mean you're an activist for women's rights? Contrary to popular belief, feminism is not about establishing a superior gender. It is about fighting for equality and destroying the social, cultural and historical norms set upon women throughout the world. The Twenty-first century has brought change and growth to female empowerment. Although, in many parts of the world women are given the same rights as men, they are still treated and viewed inferior to men. G.I. Jane perfectly illustrates the struggle women have gone through, even when given “identical” opportunities as men.
Feminist, I think love to hide behind the word equality, for the purposes of hiding their true nature and/or agendas. These kinds of Women I believe hate men and would rather be the more dominant species.
The commonly held theories that women are inferior to men, because they lack the strength of character, mind, and body that men are attributed to having, are misleading for many reasons. To assume that men are superior in these three aspects is to assume that all men and women equally share the same strengths and weaknesses of their entire sex. To do this one must accept the fact that all
of the expectations of women and how each woman has to fit a certain role as a
Another type of Feminist are radical feminist they also thing that society is controlled my men and that men are the only ones who benefit from the inequalities in societies. The believe that women are dominated by men due to biology and that women gave birth to them and they are more aggressive, stronger and violent and us this or Ideology (distorted beliefs) to control women. Radical Feminist believe that it has been built into the way society is structured that men are allowed to exploit and oppress women. They call this patriarchy they believe that abuse
The media portrays feminists in unflattering ways. Largely because of the media portrayal, the word 'feminist' usually evokes images of crass, butch, men-hating, very masculine women. Many women believe in the feminist doctrine, but they would never consider themselves as a feminist because they cannot relate to the images of crass, butch, men-hating, masculine women. In fact, it has only been within the past year that I've been able to accept the fact that I am a feminist and that my preconceived images of feminists are merely media stereotypes.
“Men are thought to be physically tougher, more aggressive, more rational, better able to handle sex without love, and more likely to be successful at work by virtue of their greater will to win.” (Nicholson, 1993, 2)
Feminists believe that women are unequal to men, and the different groups think it is down to different reasons. Liberal feminists think it is because it is down to gender role socialisation. Marxist feminists believe it is down to capitalism. Radical feminists think women are not equal to men because of relationships within the home, and black feminist think they are unequal not just because they are women, but also because of their skin colour. All groups of feminists also believe that women are subordinated due to patriarchy, (the idea that males are dominant).
Attention Getter: With a show of hands how many of you all think feminists believe that men are evil and that females are the superior gender?
In today’s society, the imagery of men and women are portrayed in their different personalities. The ideal male is always characterized as being competent, stable, tough,
women superior to men. They may say that those who claim to be a feminist are ones who hate
Throughout the last century, women have had to fight to have the same opportunities as men. Women have had to earn the right to vote, the right to have a career, and the right to autonomy. However, these are all rights that men have simply been given, which is why today’s feminists work to promote equality. Despite these efforts, feminism is often misunderstood and is interpreted with a negative connotation. According to a study conducted by Precopio and Ramsey (2017), “feminism is commonly recognized as a movement driven to grant social, political, and economic equality to both women and men.” The participation of others besides women is crucial to the spread of equality among the genders. Furthermore, the stigma and negative feelings surrounding feminism must be reduced in order for the ideals of feminism to have a greater impact.
