What do you do when someone that's armed and breaks in and you have no way to defend yourself
you have not gun or weapon? The government shouldn't make laws or rules to take or restrict guns
from citizens of the USA. The government should not be able to restrict a citizens right to bare arms
because of personal safety, people will be able to get guns not matter what laws you set, and also
we can check on the government. Gun control is big issue in America today! Many people want
guns but also there are many people that want gun control and think that it is what we need. Today
we see shootings and acts of terror mainly guns are used to kill and harm people.(Bennet). There
are people will that will still get guns no matter what

There is a long list of national tragedies that were prevented by men who were armed. If these men had not had the right to carry their guns
then the list of dead or injured men, women, and children would be even longer, the tragedies in
American would be greater than they already.
In conclusion I think that we need gun restrictions but not completely gun laws. If we make gun
laws or let the government completely take our guns then we will lose rights and not be able to
have rights like we use too. The restrictions we can put on are like age requirements and have a
back ground check before someone sells the gun. No matter what type of laws you put on criminals
will still get there hands and guns and maybe still get there hands on military weapons.(Rosen). This
is where we get the huge acts of terrorism. We also need guns to so the government meant can't
do whatever they want. The people can revolt or do whatever. But they have no weapons or
anything that the government will not worry about people just walking around the street.(Schatz).
With all of this I think that the USA government needs to be more strong on there points to gun laws
and control crime rates. They should make laws on military guns. No type of military grade
As the technology, build, and practicality of the hand gun changed over the past couple of hundred years, so has the increased want and demand. Of course, as more people started owning guns, the crime rate and deaths by gun shot up. Basically, it used to be every man for himself. As the government started worrying farther than just setting the rules but actually having people abide by the rules, laws and restrictions were set to try to regulate who owned guns and why they would use them. In 1934, Congress first started regulating the sale of automatic firearms. Not until four years later did the government think to make it federal law to require gun sellers to be licensed and to prohibit felons from purchasing them (Policy Issue p1). Even with rules that shops were supposed to follow, there are loopholes. The problem with some people in the U.S. is they will go buy guns because they have no criminal record, and then sell it to someone who is willing to pay them for the gun. Different laws over the years, still standing and also withdrawn, have spelled out different ideas of regulations, “The Gun Control Act of 1968 regulated imported guns, expanded gun-dealer licensing requirements, and expanded the list of persons not eligible to buy guns to include person convicted of any non-business related felony, minors, persons found to be mentally incompetent, and users of illegal drugs,” (Policy Issue p1). Gun
The studies and research on gun control has opened up many ideas on how weak the current laws really are. Crime rates consist of high numbers. “Since 1982, there have been at least 62 mass shootings across the country, with the killings unfolding in 30 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii”
Suppose you are at home late at night when an intruder enters your home and threatens
In today's society there is the question ‘Should there be more gun laws?’. The advancements in military weaponry is nothing short of astounding. With these advancements though, come the ramifications of their inventions. More and more, the nation is seeing these weapons in actions. People are fearful and demand more laws, but that is not the answer to this dilemma. More gun laws would not resolve this problem for numerous reasons; more gun laws would lead to more violence, the United States alwardy have an excessive amount on gun laws, and the nation looks at the object not the person. The United States have to address these issues before a change will happen.
Because of the almost non-existing rules and regulations, it is very easy for someone to illegally acquire a gun. These people get guns either from a corrupt dealer, private gun sales or a method these criminals call-‘straw purchasing’, the most common way a criminal obtain firearms. This is when someone
There are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the United States mustn't be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be enforced and harsher penalties for those who don't follow the laws. If the country would agree on certain legislation for gun control, than The United States could be a much safer
Over the past couple of years, being able to access a gun has been too easy for criminals. They have been able to easily pass background checks. This is why there needs to be stronger background checks to protect people from criminals. Also, gun laws do not need to be too strong so that no one can protect themselves. “In 2002 at the Appalachian School of Law [in Grundy, Virginia]. Hearing shots, two students went to their cars, got their guns and restrained the shooter until police arrested him”(Guns Save Lives). This is an example of why having guns could help. If there were laws that prevented these 2 students to own guns, the whole situation could have been worse. There could have been more deaths but instead, since they had guns, they were able to control the situation and protect themselves. Lastly, Americans have always had the right to bear arms. “The right to bear arms has been a long American tradition. From the time the colonists settled on North American soil, Americans have held weapons to protect themselves”(The History of the Right to Bear Arms). If there were always laws then America would not have been America. Changing this would just lead more people to be mad and cause more problems. It will be better off if the laws remain the same. Limiting the amount of gun laws will allow people to own a gun and protect themselves and having stricter background checks will make it harder for a criminal to acquire a
The United States of America has a problem that is growing worse every day. American laws are not protecting its citizens from injury or death. You may think the mass shootings in America the guns used were bought illegally, but “since 1982, there have been at least 62 mass shooter carried out with firearms across the country, with the killings unfolding in 30 states from Massachusetts to Hawaii. Of the 139 guns possessed by the killers, more than three quarters were obtained legally. The arsenal included dozens of assault weapons and semiautomatic handguns.” (Follman). Times have changed and so should our gun laws. The federal government should enact more control on all personal guns in order to reduce
In the year 2016 alone, there have been 145 mass shootings around the United States, while there have been only 173 days in the years so far. In order to prevent these atrocities from occurring so frequently gun ownership should be regulated by both the federal and state governments through a background check for all sales of firearms. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System has prevented more than two million convicted felons and other prohibited purchasers from buying guns. The law also has a deterrent effect since the prohibited purchasers are less likely to try to buy guns when they know comprehensive background check requirements are in place. However, currently the federal law requires criminal background checks only for guns sold through licensed firearm dealers, which counts for only sixty percent of the total gun sales. The U.S. Congress needs to regulate the obtainment of guns with a background check for all sales of firearms in order to protect the lives of citizens in this country while not violating the Second Amendment and the rights of the state.
buying and selling guns cannot make this situation any worse of what it is now because criminals will
Some say that guns should be banned, but people like hunters or gun owners disagree. Instead of banning them completely, the government can just strengthen the gun laws. Guns should be a privilege and not a right for people who use them incorrectly. People should prove that they would be responsible with guns by undergoing mandatory training, knowing how to safely keep them locked away, and practice gun ownership properly.
Gun laws of the United States are found in a number of federal statutes. These laws are put in place to regulate the manufacture, trade, possession, transfer, record keeping, transport, and destruction of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition. The right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. However, you have to be eligible to possess and own firearms within the United Sates. I feel that it is good to have laws in place when it comes to firearms. You don’t want just anyone to be able to purchase a firearm. For example children ages below 18, people with mental illness, felons, etc.… It is a privilege to be able to protect yourself but there are laws in this world and they are there for a reason; the protection of all
That’s why I believe the United States government should have the authority to restrict and regulate American citizens from buying or owning firearms. Gun Control laws are necessary in a state because they decrease violence and increase government protection in the state.
Over two hundred years ago our forefathers wrote the constitution of the United States and made our right to bear arms in the second amendment. However, many things have changed over the years and what seemed to be a great idea then, it doesn’t work now. I strongly believe that the government should make gun laws tougher and make it hard to own weapons. Certain laws should be in place to make it harder to obtain weapons. Stricter gun control laws will ensure drop in violent crimes, prevent household firearm accidents, and create a more peaceful society.
A criminal or “bad guy” will be able to get his/her hands on a gun no matter how much gun control there really is. In states like Louisiana,
