“Low self ‒ esteem is like driving through life with your hand ‒ break on.” (Maxwell Maltz) This quote is absolutely right. The quote is right because without self ‒ confidence you will constantly stop yourself from doing the things that you want to. If you have low self ‒confidence then the only thing that is stopping you from your goals is you. Self ‒ confidence is very important when you are going through life. Without self ‒ confidence then you are nothing. I will admit it I have low self ‒ confidence, but after watching the video that change my perspective on confidence as a whole. Before watching the video I thought self ‒ confidence was something that you either have it or you don’t and that it is hard to get. I was half way wrong. Self – confidence is something that you have to work at, it is not something that you can get over night, but everyone can get it.
The reason why I have low self – confidence is because when I am playing soccer I see all of these girls that are so much better than me and I always tell myself I can never be like that. I can sit and work my butt off at every practice and yet I am not as good as the others, but I want to be as good as they are so I keep working at it. So when a game is going on I am excited because I think this is my chance to show them what I can do, to show them how much I improved, but the coach never puts me in or even looks my way. That is a stab in the heart because when we are losing badly it’s because something is
There comes a time when you have to grow up or are forced to. You learn from past experiences and base your recent scenarios from it. Since the age of five, soccer has been part of my life. From having practice twice a week, to having practice every day of the week not including games. I felt like soccer was my pathway to success. I felt like I could do big things from it and I had all the confidence in the world but never would show it when others asked me if I was good. I’m the shy quiet girl that shows you what I’m capable of without saying a single word.
Many experts feel that self-esteem is at the core of everything you do in your life. While people with high self-esteem are willing to go after the life they want, people with low self-esteem tend to make choices that don't
The real question is, does it matter if someone has high or low self esteem? Does high self esteem lead to better relationships, work, and health? Is self esteem a reflection of success in those areas? If so, improving self esteem will be beneficial in life. The general pattern found in studies proved that high self esteem is a predictor of life success.
A person with a strong sense of self esteem will have a more positive outlook on life and will be strong enough to handle difficult situations through life.
Not having a strong sense of confidence can cause problems such as being easily influenced, having trouble making the right decisions, and getting involved in unhealthy relationships. Developing a strong sense of identity and self esteem is important because we must first learn how to understand and love ourselves before we can allow anyone else to. I am confident because I know who I am and what I want in live. I am driven and goal oriented and I will stop at literally nothing to get what I want. Being confident in myself has allowed me to express myself in a variety of ways without worrying whether or not people are going to judge me. I’m a big believer in “look good, feel good, do good” so I always try to look my best even if I’m feeling not-so-confident on that particular
Base on the self confidence survey, we can realize that a person’s level of self confidence recognizes that she/he is responsible for the decisions that she/he makes. If a person believes they can achieve something, then they will. But low esteem will pull them down and it will be
I have been playing soccer for seven years and every game is different. Being a goalie the team depends on me to keep the goal safe. I am one of the most important players on the field, but I am also one of the most ridiculed and sometimes most hated player on the field. The whole team counts on me to save every goal, when I can not I know they are disappointed in me as I am disappointed in myself. The ball hitting the back of the net behind me has always been my biggest downfall because I blame myself not my team, and I feel they blame me too.
Andrew Coleman, the author of the article “ Confidence Can Help You Achieve Anything”, points out how important to have self- confidence to achieve a goal and be successful in our lives. In the beginning of the article, Andrew illustrates about one of his precious life lessons that he experienced in his young age. After that, the school counselor gave him a lesson about “ Self- Confidence”. The author got to know what is the self- confidence and why it is so important: Self- Confidence means that you have a strong definite view to yourself, so even others attack you by spreading ridiculous rumors behind you, you do not
I realized that just because I wasn’t playing as much didn't mean I wasn't good enough, it meant I wasn't working hard enough. This failure made me realize it was no longer good enough to be just average. This failure caused me to work harder, be stronger, and to have more confident.I did extra workouts, read books on self confidence, and prayed every night. I never failed to thank God for guiding me everyday. I carry the following with me everyday. After I started doing extra work and believing in myself, I began playing more. Nothing felt more rewarding than knowing I had overcome a failure that once felt like it was going to break me. Not only did I grow as a soccer player, but I grew as a person,
Confidence has always been a part of my soccer, but it really came into effect 2 years ago when I left my team of four years to join a much better one and

The author gives some excellent life experiences to demonstrate that self-confidence is one of the most important elements to be successful.
During 8th grade soccer tryouts, I would talk to myself again, try to think positive. I remember having a positive attitude and knowing that I will make it, and I did. I was so happy I made the LeyVa soccer team. During that LeyVa’s soccer season I had my first boyfriend, he played soccer, he was really good at it, and it would lowkey make me feel insecure and even more shy. I remember when we would have practices together and I would make an excuse about not feeling good just so he won’t see me play. I love soccer but it still made me feel insecure(during that time). Something good that happened during 8th grade soccer season, a lady invited me to tryout with her husband's team, it was a gold competitive team. On the first day of their tryouts, it was easy, I think I did good on the first time. I just didn’t like the coach, he was rude. He made me dislike soccer, I had a bad experience with him. I felt like I didn’t fit in. I didn’t really talk to any of the girls, I felt like they didn’t trust me during the game, like giving me passes, I just felt like they were doubting me. The coach didn’t even call me by my proper name, he didn’t even know my name, he called me LeyVa because I wore my

Self-acceptance is an extremely prevalent issue that numerous people struggle with. It is one of the hardest to surmount, for it is something I still struggle with to this day. Overall, my journey is a working progress as it will perpetuate to have its downfalls to test me. Like many of my generation, social media has played an excessively paramount role in our lives, both negatively and positively. Sources of harmless entertainment have also unintentionally encouraged self-judgment. Self-acceptance of all insecurities and doubts is paramount since every individual has a unique beauty that should be cherished in order to pursue a life full of love and jubilance.
