I plan to attend the Kansas State University in Italy Faculty led program so I can gain more knowledge and creativity as I continue working towards my degree in graphic design. I have always wanted to visit Italy as well. I think this would be the perfect experience for me since it is held through the Art department and led by my very own professors, who I will continue to work with after traveling abroad. Personally, I have always loved the idea of traveling to other countries to be able to learn and appreciate their cultures first hand. I believe the breathtaking architecture and landscape in Italy will greatly inspire and impact my graphic design and photography abilities the most. This experience will truly help me to grow as an artist. Therefore, I know when I come back for the fall semester that I will be bursting with ideas and inspiration for my art projects. In my future professional career, I would love to be able to work internationally with foreign companies. This program will greatly improve my chances of having that opportunity and give me the skills and knowledge I would need to succeed in doing so. …show more content…
Therefore, upon my return from studying abroad I would love to volunteer my time for the Education Abroad Office to talk to other students about my experience abroad and answer any questions they may have. Hopefully in doing so, my passion for this great program will inspire others to want to go abroad as well. I also intend to share my experience in Italy through my artwork. I want to take everything that I learn and experience abroad and make art inspired by the beauty of Italy. I know my creativity will be flowing from all the inspiration around me and I want to use that inspiration to create beautiful works of
I would like to be considered for an additional scholarship due to not only financial reasons but because I believe I can become a model Honors College student. I'm actively involved in multiple organizations on campus, I work part-time as a student assistant with the Honors College along with making sure I get good grades.
I would use this scholarship to further my education and dream of becoming a surgeon. I have volunteered at St. Anthony Hospital since October 2016 in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and the OR (Operating Room). I have over 500+ hours volunteering and in conjunction with that I have done a 100-hour internship over the summer. In the PACU, I work with nurses and I get to observe patients waking up from surgery. I help the nurses with anything they need like monitoring a patient, getting family members, cleaning bays, and answering phones. I help out in the OR by cleaning and stocking. It is fulfilling not only because I help the nurses out a lot, but also because I have a passion for the medical field. I started volunteering because of my interest in the medical field
My scholarship allowed me to be awarded with an on campus job. Due to my dual-enrollment credit hours and my ACT score, I was given the opportunity to become an athletic study hall worker. I served as a mentor and personal tutor for the incoming freshmen athletes of the university and supervised their academic study hours. All of the athletes were required to attend study hall 8 hours a week. Just like my first class of freshmen athletes, I was also new to the university. This experience was very beneficial for me in that I was given a very important duty at such a young age. I had to learn to keep control of my students as well as ensure a conductive, comfortable learning
The reason I want this Scholarship is to take the burden off my mother and to achieve an education that will allow me to take both my mother and I out of poverty. My mother has worked her entire life to do the best for me and it hasn’t been the easiest situation. My mother has multiple auto-immune deficiencies and frequents the hospital. I can remember all those nights
I believe I should be considered for these scholarships as I’m hardworking, passionate, and altruistic. These scholarships will help in my endeavours of attending college debt-free, while learning skills to assist me afterwards.
I am interested in this scholarship for a variety of reasons both personally and financially. I currently live in a single parent home that won't be able to help me financially when I pursue my future career. The career I want to pursue in the future is in honor of my grandpa, Chuck Storing, who was never able to become the doctor he hoped to become due to financial and family issues that followed him after high school. I have worked two jobs simultaneously throughout high school to save up money for myself. Along with constantly putting school first no matter how hectic or busy my life got. My whole life I have always set goals for myself and never gave up on them until they were fully achieved. I strive each and everyday to make my family
I'd like to get this scholarship because i'm a very hard worker once I get my mind set on it, I work at the Roseau Hospital in food service and I absolutely love it! I get to see the residents that's always the best part of my day.
I wish to be considered for the scholarship as an undergraduate student in Cameron University, majoring in English Language.
It would be an honor to be awarded this scholarship, because like many others I have worked hard and pushed myself for the place where I am at present day. It has always been my goal to be successful in life, to be able to be financially stable, put dinner on the table and provide not just for myself but for those who have provided for me. I want to be able to travel the world and experience as much as I can in my lifetime.
I should be considered for this scholarship due to that as a result of my personal goals and qualities I seek to improve my campus and community and in ten years I hope to have radically improve my campus and self. This scholarship will assist me in affording an institution that will grow my mind and achieve my goals of inclusion and diversity.
“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure” (Bill Cosby). Reflecting back on my life I have dealt with numerous downfalls but I always bounce back. I was born in India and moved here when I was six years old. As I grew up in California I was not a bright student at first. I was enrolled in Carmichael Elementary in which I was the only one with Turban on my head, which caused me to get into a lot of fights with other students who were making fun of turban. Not knowing how to speak English at the time affected the way interacted with teachers and students. On the other hand my family always had a tight budget at home. Both of my parents worked at the store we owned which was the only source money. At school kids were always talking about their new shoes and the iPod which his or her parents got them. I didn’t get everything I wanted as a kid but as I got older I understand if did I could be a spoiled brat. When I moved from Carmichael to Sacramento and I was enrolled at Maeola R. Beitzel elementary. Going to this new school I already learned English so I made marvelous friends and was surrounded by positive people. Going from a chaos environment to this harmonious environment in part because I was speaking English, made me have unique personality .I was playing sports and growing as a student. Those years went by in no time. Now I am in high school and my family’s income has been growing. My mom changed her work to now at Jack in
Attending a study abroad program will be critical in achieving my professional goals because I
I look forward to the experience of living abroad and interacting with people of a variety of culture and backgrounds.
Both of my grandparents grew up in Italy, my grandpa being from a very petite farm town named Alberona, consisting of a population of about 1,000 people. My grandma was from Naples, a vastly populated city on the coast of Italy, which now serves as a major port. However, through all of these years, my grandpa managed to keep hold of the house he grew up in, and the house he dreamed in. My grandpa always had an American dream, for he moved to the United States when he was eighteen years old, and dedicated his life to work, his family, and establishing traditions within our current family. As part of this tradition, my grandpa brings my brothers and I to Italy when we each graduate high school to experience a new social environment as a young adult, just as he did when he traveled to the United States to better his life.
The culture, landmarks, history and the customs that have established that country and still live on to the present day, is what has made a country what it is. It is very important to see for themselves while students are studying abroad. Studying abroad also comes with the opportunity to see other parts of the world, through excursions, and visiting neighboring countries.
