Why I want to go California
By Joshua Tipton
You guys don’t agree or think we can go to California this year. I keep trying to convince you that going to California would be a great, relaxing vacation with many things to do. This would be a great, new, and exciting place to visit. One reason you say you won’t allow us to go to California this year is because my sister plays travel volleyball. Travel volleyball, however, does allow us to take many trips, these trips are majority of the time in a gymnasium watching, my sister play volleyball. Watching my sister is very cool, but after a while it does get boring. So, going to California without having to deal with volleyball would be great and fun. There is also another reason you say we probably

When gold was discovered in 1848, people entered California to prospect the "golden mountains." At the climax of the gold rush the attitude in the mining country was of anticipation and greed. The effect of the gold rush, however, went much deeper than soil of the Sierra Mountains. Many miners did become rich from the mining of gold.
California has been known for it 's beautiful golden coast, stunning mountain ranges, and the always wonderful sunny weather. The state houses the largest and second most diverse population of people in the United States. The large diversity of the people could be contributed by the vast differing landscapes that stretch across the state. Northern California in particular, is home to a variety of enormous mountains, mountain ranges, beautiful lakes, and forever flowing rivers. People come from all over to witness these breathtaking views. As for Southern California the alluring beaches, rolling grass valleys, and various other attractions make for a significant difference to northern California. The difference in environments has a great impact on the type of people that live in each region. An individual 's race, ethnicity, hobbies, political views, job, etc. all can have an impact on what area of California they live in. Some people, including myself enjoy a lot of outdoor activities that fit well in Northern California areas such as hunting, hiking, snowboarding, etc. Meanwhile, people that live in southern California may have much different outdoor hobbies due to the change in climate. The contrast between north and south almost creates a split in the state. In 1941, the proposal of a new state, named the State of Jefferson would take the very upper most part of California and the southern most part of Oregon to create a 51st state. Today, that proposal has
Summer vacation. A time to relax, kick back and sleep. Well, at least for most people. My summer vacation was packed. I ended up going to five states in a total of three weeks. One whole week was spent in D.C., but that is a story for another time. Today, I want to tell you about my excursion down south with my dad’s side of the family. The trip was crazy, hectic, and full of a lot of driving; it was really fun at the same time. I hope my explanation of this trip will come close to the amount of joy this summer trip brought me.
The part of United States of America that I want to move will be California, because I wanted to go to California for a long time and I can see my grandparents. If I do go to California I want see how my grandma and her parents live before they move to Michigan. But see why they did move from California to Michigan. But also why I want to go to California so that I can go to disneyland, because I have not been there for 9 years. And I can see what school did my mom go to and what college is went. I want to go to California to see how the house and the grandparents are doing, if they need help with something or we can just spend time with them. Also in California I can help my grandpa and my great grandpa work on a shed if they want to. Or if
In conclusion, you found out why i want you to move to california even though there is not much to do down here it's better than living back in the old cabin away from everybody and doing the same old things
Going to college, is where your journey in life really begins. Choosing the right college for you is one of the biggest decisions you make in life. I choose California Baptist University to enhance my studies, meet people pursuing the same passion as I am, and become closer to God.
One of the great attractions of California is its natural beauty. We have lakes, mountains, deserts and sunsets.
Imagine getting away from the monotony of your everyday life. You can lie on the beach sipping a cool drink miles away from your worries of getting a paper done or helping a customer at work. You can be on top of a mountain overlooking beautiful lands that are different from your own backyard. Half of the class has taken a vacation less than five times in their lifetimes, but let’s face that most of those probably included those little family vacations to Disneyland. But, all of you said that you planned to travel someday. So, why not do it sooner than later? One of the reasons for not traveling that many of you put is not having time because of school or work. Also, one of your major concerns is
There are endless green pastures. There are dirt roads, secretive and rocky, that lead to hidden watering holes with old rickety bridges connecting the land. The river water under the bridges is cool, clean and refreshing. It feels like it runs just for you. There are famous calico leaves that hang loosely from every tree branch in the fall that bring photographers from far away places. Later, the leaves fall in delicate, colorful piles. As children we 'd rake them into bigger piles and flop our little bodies on top.
It is the year 1850 and the west is just starting to populate. The west has so many goods to offer like gold, land, and jobs. My family and I are farmers and we are poor. We are doing everything we can to live, but we are not going west. We are not going west because we are not willing to risk our lives and many people are leaving so there's more opportunities where we are.
(Anecdote) Growing up in Cathedral City, California was quite different compared to living in Palm Desert, California. To say the least, danger seemed to be a popular subject in that town. Soon enough, my siblings, Laura and Daniel, and I had grown accustom to hearing gunshots and the sirens of emergency services being repeated as much as the songs on the radio. As clearly shown, our community was not exactly what my family expected when we moved there. Not only was gunfire a regular background noise, but on multiple occasions, strangers decided it would be acceptable to sneak into our backyard and steal our belongings, which in reality did not have much value. Although most times they would quickly come and go, once there was a man who
“Maybe we could go sightseeing or ziplining through the woods!” I exclaimed. Just from that alone, my face lit up even more and a big smile was on my face. Soon after that though, I felt like a kid that was grounded. I think my excitement had overridden my boredom because my eyes would close, then a bolt of energy, or excitement, surged through my body, keeping me awake. The honks of the cars kept me awake as well. I love California for the waves and the beaches, but the traffic and the busy streets are what get me. After the long hour, we finally found a spot where we can park our rental. Then, we checked in through security and boarded the plane. The service people were one of the nicest people in the world. Since I

Vacations are a time where people tend to make memories. One vacation I have a lot of memories of is when I went to the lake with my friends family. Over the summer, my friends Matt and Zack asked me if I wanted to go to Clark Hill Lake near Augusta with them. They are twins. We have been friends for seven years, and every time we are together we always make memories. When they asked me, all I could think about was all the memories we could make, so I said, “yes I would love to go”. I had no idea of what memories were to come.
