The necessity of hunting has been doubted since a US dentist Walter Palmer killed Zimbabwe lion Cecil. Is hunting good or bad? Hunting is the practice of killing or trapping some animal, or pursuing or tracking it with the intent of doing so. In modern society, with the well-developed meat production industry, do we need hunting actually? However, in macro, maybe hunting is not as obnoxious as its look like.
Hunting can satisfy and alleviate human needs on meat while esteem animal rights in the same time. Comparing with the meat factory, hunting is able to satisfy human needs on meat, while animals can live in wild instead of a cage. It is a humane method to obtain meats. Animals can live freely in wild, and human can obtain meats likewise through hunting. Also animals in wild will not be treated and perceived as a product, a capital, but a living creature, which is more humane than staying in factory. Although killing is brutal, and without a doubt that hunting cannot be separated from bleeding, but its benefit still outstrips its cruel image. It offers a quicker and painless death to animals. Just one shot, and the animal is down. In contrast, meat factory will prolong animals’ suffer since they know the death is coming when they being transferred from the farm to slaughter. Hunting will kill an animal for an instant while skipping the process of transferring animals to slaughter, which is a more humane way to obtain meats. In addition, hunting can alleviate the rising demand of meat when people experience the process of getting meat is not easy, and knowing what they have got is from a living creature that will bleed and has feelings as human. It is an opportunity to educate the next generation about the precious value of food, since they know where food comes from and cherish what we got.
