If the applicant has poor grammar, then the majority of employers would assume that the applicant is lazy. If the applicant’s grammar skills are good, then the employer will assume that the applicant will be an excellent employee. So, no standard English skills should not determine whether a person should be employed because certain jobs does not require good grammar, people sometimes have strengths in other areas, and the way people talk should not determine their work ethic.
