Choosing a career is a big decision for every teenager and especially when the fields have become competent. Everyone wants to have a career that can save them from lifetime challenges. Health care is the solution. There are a variety of positions available for all education levels and experience, as well a number of hospitals are expected to open over the next years. The High School students should choose a career in Healthcare, signifying that they can save their future from any downfall, as well other human beings lives for better.

This position has put me on the path I want to be on, has given me experience and allowed me to pay for my education.

Medical Assistants help offices and clinics run smoothly. A Medical Assistant can work individually with a doctor. In a small office they tend to report directly to a physician, health practitioner or office manager. In a larger office they tend to specialized in a particular area and they report to department administrator or other operations management.

Aside from my love for animals, the position allows me to grow and gain valuable professional and personal experience that will help me in the long run of my veterinary career. I have been lucky enough to already have gained experience as veterinary assistant. As stated in my resume, I have worked at an animal clinic for the past two summers. When I think of my future, I can’t see myself in any other field besides medical. More specifically, I can not picture myself being anything other than a nurse. Many of my life experiences have began to prepare me to enter into the nursing field.

The purpose of this position is to handle medical data documentation responsibilities for physicians during patient encounters.

My previous employment has taught me that I am approachable, I can work efficiently within a team and that I communicate well with others. For example, my experience working within the NHS as a dental nurse, has taught me that I had the right skills necessary to be successful in a healthcare career. In this particular role, I had to work efficiently under pressure to ensure that patients were being cared for, and made to feel calm. I learned that I have a friendly and sympathetic approach towards patients, even during stressful times when we had to work quickly. I had a good relationship with all my work colleagues.

My fascination of both the biological and chemical elements of the human body has led to my aspiration of becoming a doctor. I have enjoyed the discovery of new elements in my AS syllabus, from learning about the cardiovascular system to the placebo effect in drug testing. Reading a book called Sick Notes by Tony Copperfield entails an account of his daily life in his profession as a General Practitioner. I was able to see how the science in the syllabus was used in the application of General Practice. Through my work experience I understood that the GP’s job was not just based on being a general specialist but also the lives of the people around him.

I am currently a Medical Technician at Recovery Unplugged, a local treatment center in Austin, Texas. Recovery Unplugged is based out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The original partial hospitalization program was started in Florida over two years ago. The owners decided to open another center, but the new center was to be a residential center and located in Austin. I connected with the director of operations for the Austin location and had the opportunity to help open the place for business. For about three months I did physical labor, including, painting, hanging sheetrock, moving furniture, and anything else that needed to be done in order to prepare the center for residents. When we were finally able to open, my boss promoted me to a medical technician because of my diligent work and dedication to the business. I have been in my current position for almost three months and they have been some of the best three months of my life. I have the privilege of working with other addicts and alcoholics every day to help

I was elected Employee of the Year in this department for my dedication, accountability, and teamwork. In 2009, I accepted a position in the Oncology Department at Memorial Hospital, where I worked as a Patient Care Technician for 3 years and received recognition from patients, their families, doctors, nurses and management for my work and dedication. In 2012, I accepted a job at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree Colorado, working as a Patient Care Technician/Multi skilled/CNA, in the Float Pool department where I am still working and I’ve learned new skills within the nursing scope of practice, such as removing peripheral IV, performing bladder scanning, discontinuation of indwelling catheter in addition of a regular CNA responsibilities. I believe I am a good fit for the nursing profession and have been told I am a good communicator and educator to patients and their families, as well as an excellent team player. The field of study I am particularly interested in is Medical Office Administration. Based on my own research this job involves sitting for long periods of time, requires extensive knowledge of computers and the ability of multitasking. The roles of this job include effectively managing an office. They work in a variety of fields ranging from a physician’s office to a rest home facility. There are particular skills needed to do well in this, which include being well-organized, good communication skills, and an understanding of medical terms. This job is more suitable to people who work well with computer technology. In addition, someone who is able to pay attention to details would succeed in this field. I am interested in this field based on the heavy use with computers and the fact that there is a variety of job options out there. In the Medical Office Administration field, these types of jobs will be in higher demand as the population continues to grow.

During my working experience I have maintained a versitle skill set in data entry, quality control, and communication. I have demonstrated strong communication and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner in a call center enviroment. My experience as a Data Entry Operator and QC Clerk have allowed me to utilize my ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The last two years of employment with FADV allowed me to work remote with limited to no supervision while remaining a highly productive member of my team.
