Humphrey1 “Describe how Worcester State fits into your educational plans and how you will contribute to campus life” Ever since I was a child I've wanted a career in the medical field. To be surrounded by medicine and the endless opportunities that come with nursing would be a dream come true. I've done my research and Worcester State is the University for me. I know Worcester State University can benefit by having me as a student because I’m fully confident I will excel. I am currently a full time EMT, and in the National Guard. I can bring an atmosphere of safety, maturity, and confidence to the campus and help all who attend. I feel that I've had an opportunity to be a student of life. I've been lucky enough to hear stories from my patients about their trials and triumphs, their setbacks and how they've overcome them, and how to have a remarkable outlook on life in the bleakest of moments. I’ve dealt with patients who have stabbed themselves in an attempt to commit suicide. I’ve been in scenarios where my squad had been hit by indirect enemy fire and I was the only medic to deal with the situation. I’ve responded intelligently in an ambulance to emergencies numerous times. These experiences have molded me into the man I am today. I’m empathetic and nonjudgmental. I challenge myself to look at the …show more content…
After getting a respectable amount of experience in a hospital environment, I'd like to become a traveling nurse with the agency, Nurses Without Borders. I would love to help those who are truly in need. Every day I count my blessings and I realize that I am one of few whom have a strong family I can depend on and a stable life. I feel that my life would be meaningless unless I can use it to do good for those who are less fortunate. Being exposed to various cultures, walks of life, and regions, while still being able to care for patients is a dream that I know will come
In the McWhorter School of Building Science in the College of Architecture, students have had a 100% employment rate in the two previous semesters (Nobles). This statistic alone shows one perk Auburn University has over many other colleges. Auburn University is the best college because it has the best job opportunities, the best major, and the best traditions.
One time, I was taken aback and saddened by a patient yelling a plea to God as she was suffering through tremendous pain. As I walked into the room, the first thing this patient did was stop yelling and attempt to put on a calm face. It was a sobering moment, but I proceeded to ask her if I could do anything to help. What struck me most about this moment, was how much fight this lady could conjure up to hide her pain and yet still remain compassionate towards me. I hadn't expected anything, but this experience was a brilliant reminder of why I wanted so badly to improve the conditions of patients across the medical spectrum. I couldn't fathom the extent of this patient's pain, but I could fathom the idea of pain itself. In the patient, I saw a little bit of myself. I wanted to help this patient greatly and desired the means to do so. In this patient, I saw the nature of humanity. Human beings, for the most part, are inherently good and strive to be selfless even at their weakest moments. In fact, most people I know tend to be more worried about others than themselves, whether it be from a positive or negative perspective. As I got to know this patient, I realized how much she wanted to be with her family and see her grandchildren grow up. Though she was aware of the pain and suffering, she was also aware of what could be once she got through this struggle. Once I become a medical doctor, I can give back
In conclusion, as a smart, responsible, and courageous woman I would love to attend UAB. However, I know that it will take a lot of hard work to become a registered Nurse. Being a part of your college would give me the opportunity to help others in the future. On the other hand, I know there may be some obstacles but I am willing to overcome them. Also, I know that it will take hard work and patience and hard work to become a Registered Nurse. Remaining focused throughout the years I am willing to do whatever it takes to
The walking tour of Elizabeth City State University is a study of the university’s history from the perspective of student education landmarks, dorm landmarks, and attraction landmarks.
Please tell us about the particular life experiences, talents, commitments and/or interests you will bring to our campus that will enrich our community.
I’m sitting in my first class of the day. I skipped breakfast because traffic was going to be horrible. Now, I’m here, stuck with an empty stomach. When we are starving, we usually crave the first food item we can find. I figure someone who hates, I mean, completely loathes broccoli would eat it if it meant the broccoli would stop their starvation. I’m not stuck on a deserted island with limited resources. I’m a college student who is very hungry. Isn’t that the same thing?
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work in the medical field. From performing imaginary check ups on my community of dolls as a child to watching medical television shows, being able to enter the workforce with the skills to start a nursing career has been my most desired goal from a young age. When it comes to achieving that goal, hard work, dedication, and my lifelong passion for pursuing nursing will get me where I need to be in order to successfully complete Davenport University’s Nursing Program.
My name is Randi Duguay and I am a sophomore in the nursing program. After graduating from Husson, I plan on becoming a traveling nurse after gaining some experience working. I want to be able to travel the world and be able to help people at the same time. I am from Jay, Maine and currently work as a CNA.
In a school called Noble Street College Prep they have decided to go with a policy that punishes students for bad behavior. I would prefer this way of discipline. I would like to argue that this is a better policy to use. While the reward policy my work, I believe that KMS should use the punishment policy because it helps with the students academics, helps students concentrate in class, and lastly it teaches kids to have manners.
I have always had a passion for traveling, as well as people who are impoverished and do not have access to things that I and many other may take for granted, such as healthcare. My major career goal is to become a midwife and be able to visit countries where women do not have access to the best healthcare. I want to be able to assist them in their deliveries and health and make sure their those women and their babies are healthy and happy. Many women and newborns die in underdeveloped countries because of exposure to unsanitary conditions and the idea that I can save lives is a major key in my
Duke University’s sports programs have been outstanding in the past few years. In my opinion, the basketball program has stood out the most. This school has an extraordinary history that dates back many years. The Blue Devils have won five national championships in their years as a university. They have won a championship in: 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, and 2015. This ranks them fourth all-time, trailing only: UCLA, who had Hall-of-Famer Lew Alcindor, known today as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; Kentucky; and North Carolina. The 2015 NCAA Championship winning Duke team is arguably most memorable team in the university’s legendary history. During this season, the Blue Devils finished with a record of thirty-five wins and four losses, the fifth best
Eastern Illinois University, also known as EIU, is a state college based in Charleston IL. Eastern Illinois University was founded in the year 1895 as a teaching school that focused on making educators out of the students. However, the school did not open to students until 1899. According to Eastern Illinois University 2017 the college now has over 150 majors and minors offered to the students that who attend the university. Eastern also has plenty of scholarship opportunities for the students, a whopping 600 is available to the entirety of the school. Eastern is a good option for students that want to be able to pursue education as well as many others programs.
As Albert Einstein famously quoted “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile,” my decision to pursue medicine was driven by such an inspiration. But that was not the only force driving me. Not only the continuous intellectual challenge and personal satisfaction of helping someone, but also the respect that is generally associated with this profession have always been key factors motivating me.
St Catharine’s is universally referred to as ‘Catz’ and is just a two-minute walk from the market place. Facing Trumpington Street to the east, it has Corpus Christi directly opposite. To the north it joins King’s College and sits in front of Queens’ to the west. Indeed, in the past it rented land from Queens’, which it finally purchased when both parties got fed up of renegotiating the lease.
I feel as if any other profession would not be using my strength as efficiently as nursing, I feel as if nursing was made for people like me who enjoy science, but also people equally as much. Michigan State 's Nursing school is special because not only do we conduct our studies by helping at Sparrow Hospital, but we take value in community service. We embody in other things besides academics, because a nurse is more than just a health professional. I see this by being involved in NSA as a pre-nursing student. I saw how the nursing students in College of Nursing take on many roles in the community. Whether it be the organizing or donations to the Lansing Food Bank, or contributing to the Willows or even visiting nursing homes. This makes me feel as if Michigan State cares equally about academics as they do about the patient care aspect. I feel as if learning how to be a nurse is not difficult, but being a good nurse is hard to come by. Michigan State’s Nursing School cares about building connections with people, especially those who are sick and in need. I feel this builds compassions and respect for others in this way. I feel as if anyone comes across a Spartan nurse, they know that everything that can be possibly done, will be done.
