I am currently a sophomore at Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio. So far I have two years of varsity experience in both lacrosse and wrestling. I am a captain of the wrestling team and my goal is to be voted a captain for the lacrosse team next year. My biggest goal as of now is trying to get in both an academically and athletically prestigious school. I would be a different candidate from most others because of two main characteristics I have; work ethic and toughness. My biggest advantage over others is knowing that I can out-work them no matter who they are and have the mental toughness to carry me through it. Thank you for looking at my profile and feel free to contact
The strengths that I, Evia Neuman, have acquired and will bring to the Marion High School’s NHS program are the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. I am currently in the 11th grade and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.8. During my high school career I have participated in volleyball, grades 9th-11th, basketball, and sideline cheer both in 9th grade. While on these teams I have learned what it means to be a team to strategize with other people to come up with a solution that works in the end. As captain of the volleyball team in 10th grade I learned how to be more of a leader. However when I was not a captain doesn’t mean I didn’t still try to lead and keep the team up to persevere through obstacles.
was raised by my parents to never lose sight of my goals and to always have a positive work ethic. My parents were born in India and they moved to Canada in hopes that their children could have a better life. They work hard everyday so that my siblings and I do not have to quit school like they did. My greatest eye opening experience was when I started working with my mother as a general factory worker in grade ten. The working conditions were very tough in which we stood for long hours and we had to be constantly working quickly. I met many great women and men who were new immigrants and heard their struggles in their birth country. However, despite all of the pressure they were thankful for their job and to be living in Canada. At the young
I believe in the principle of working hard, and I believe sports are the reason I am who I am today. My whole life my parents pounded into my head the importance of hard work. I had heard this idea so many times, I never really understood what it meant, I just knew it must be important. As I grew up, I realized how many amazing things sports have taught me, and I am thankful for the work ethic I have now, because of sports.
My hopes for the future is being able to use the knowledge I gain on this class and being able to apply it on my daily work ethic. In addition., that I can used this project and use it as a recommendation on one of my meeting and do a presentation about it so my employer see the importance in making an action to help that the issues of retaining nurses need a change as soon as possible .
I grew up with a strong work ethic. My family was in the farming and dairy business, they worked hard and saved, so I was taught to be frugal. I married young, out of high school. The marriage didn’t work and I was left with three children to support and raise. I did so by starting a cleaning service, eventually it grew to the point I had six employees, however I did not have enough education to know how to expand and make it really successful. Because I had sole responsibility of raising a young family, I had no time to further my education and in those days, there were no online courses. LOL, now I’m telling you my age. After the children were grown and moved away from home, I decided to slow down and not work as hard as it had begun to take
I am a hard worker always doing the best I can with the abilities I have. I am a mother of four beautiful children. I live in Michigan where I have been all my life. These family values have shaped me into respecting others and treat others like the way you want to be treated. I value hard work, honest and never be a quitter. My strengths are being kind hearted and a good listener. My weaknesses are being too critical on myself and taking things personal.
A recent graduate from the Criminal Justice program at California State University, Fullerton. Goal oriented with a strong work ethic— made the dean’s honor list multiple times. I’m ready to fervently dedicate myself in making an impacting difference in our communities. Furthermore, I’m dependable, a team player, a fast learner, and someone who works well under pressure and high stress situations.
Edison once said, “Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they came to success and gave up." The quote demonstrates that many people could have been the next big thing if they had tried even harder rather than just quitting. I believe that grit and perseverance are major components of a person’s success because that's what makes that person different from a quitter. Grit and perseverance should be part of curriculums for teachers and should be a divine part of the American Education. Many may believe that talent is necessary in order to acquire your goals, in order to succeed talent may be a helpful skill, but not a necessity to succeed.
I have acquired effective learning and personal habits through my dedication and hard work, which have allowed me to reach new heights and have assisted me in accomplishing my own goals. Work ethic has helped me develop a high level of learning habits. My dreams and goals have been accomplished by employing the skill of work ethic in my daily life. I practice this skill when a new lesson is taught in class, I make it my priority to understand the lesson and increase my understanding to the fullest in order to explain it simpler. Thus showing my comprehension on the subject and how I use my work ethic.

competitive advantage. Hence, it is essential to study mental toughness and other psychological characteristics of the athletes.
To be a hard worker, this requires zero laziness, no complaining, and no excuses. If I allow the negative influence affect my work, I will lose my money,my reputation, or a very stable business. To be a hard worker, strength and endurance is a trait that is instilled in every hard worker. Whether the worker works at an office job or outside cutting grass, strength and endurance always prevails.
Endurance by Alfred Lansing is an astonishing true story of how a group of twenty-eight men survived in the Antarctic for two years, thanks primarily to one man’s leadership, attitude, and perseverance. The Imperial Trans-Atlantic Expedition was headed by Ernest Shackleton, an explorer and consummate leader of men. Shackleton used his gut-feeling to hand-pick his crew, ensuring they knew that success would be rewarded but also aware that a safe return home is not guaranteed. Shackleton chose men with a mixture of skill sets and was sure to consider how each member would fit in with the team. As a leader he understood when to allow individuals to utilize their strengths while still leading a holistic team. Shackleton was gifted with an uncanny ability to overcome conflict, communicate with his followers, as well as remain flexible during any situation. The following briefly recounts the story with my thoughts weaved in…
Why is hard work important? Well what is hard work? Hard work is putting in your all, applying yourself, and giving it your best effort. Hard work is persisting when others have given up. Hard work is continuing to strive for your best even through temporary failure. It means enduring through hard times. Hard work is something that you can control, and it is up to you to do hard work.
Organizations are human systems. As such, each member of the system brings to bear the full range of psychological and emotional behavior while also applying themselves to their work which is highly prescriptive and presumably rational. Because of this, human systems experience high levels of inefficiency as emotions, personality, and unconscious impulses interfere with the objectivity and logical processes at work (cite). This study emphasizes to understand the extent at which habits can interfere with individual expectations of their performance. It focuses also to see any managerial tools to ease such forces among employees while at workplace.
