Have you ever wondered what weapons were like back in WWII compared to present time or when the computer and the atm were created and why they were created or even how major medical inventions like penicillin were made and how they were used? All these inventions were made in WWII but adapted to everyday life. It is amazing to see how inventions that may have been made for bad things have been changed throughout time and become used for better things.
In World War Two, one of the weapons they used to use was the MP40. The MP40 was one of the favorite weapons in WWII for its fast firing and large ammo capacity which would longer firing rate. Another weapon that was used during WWII was the M1 Carbine which was light for its size and could be accessed quickly if needed to. The M1 had some minor flaws and one of which was its small ammo capacity but it could fire really fast. The AA gun was a weapon made for shooting planes out of the sky but it lacked accuracy and it often took thousands of rounds to actually hit the plane. The AA gun or the Anti-Aircraft gun had to

The well-known theory of the Berlin aesthetic theorist Friedrich Kittler was necessary for the development of the computer. The first computer was called “Colossus” and was used for military purposes. Another technological invention was the “ATM” and it was set out during the 1960’s but invented in the 1940’s. The computer when it was originally invented was used for deciphering Nazi enigma codes to try and figure out what the codes were trying to get out to the other Nazis. The computer worked very well with the enigma codes and it was one of the reasons that we won the war; the fact that we could basically listen in on the Nazi’s communications. The maker of the computer, Konrad Zuse, had intended the computer to be made for civilian use at first, but then the first computer ended up being used for the military
The weapons during this time includes guns, such as, rifles, machine guns, artillery and weapons on tanks. Speaking of tanks, when ww1 started the first tank was introduced and was used as a weapon and still is being used as a weapons. Some other weapons of this time period were Mortars that were pressurized guns that pushed out little bombs. There were also gasses, but they weren't very successful because they would blow up unexpectedly. Flamethrowers were also very big for germans, they used them against the french and it definitely worked. One of the main things that was used was aircraft. They took new ideas and turned them into weapons and new ways to get around.
During the Revolutionary War we do not see much advancement in weaponry, but we do see a wide array of weapons such as Artillery, Rifles and Muskets, Pistols, Swords and Sabres, Ship classes, and even Submarines. Although there was not a huge technological leap in weaponry, the weapons were very interesting and effective at the time.
Another very powerful gun that was used in World War II was the Submarine guns. The submarine guns are much stronger and better than normal guns due to the fact that they have better firing distances (Military History 7). The submarine gun was built mainly for endurance and for accuracy. This gun had the accuracy to fire from 800 to at least 1,000 yards away and delivers a powerful blow to its victims. One problem which the gun had was the fact that it could dislocate a soldiers arm whenever it was fired. But finally the submarine gun was improved and is now less powerful which makes it easier for firing full automatic rounds along with pistol rounds (8).
During the Civil War, there were many weapons used, that played a big role in the civil war and how it shaped America. The war brought great trials and tribulations as it came to the development of new war weapons and blockades that gave each side a higher rank as it came to the deciding of the civil war. During this war, both sides had an upper hand when it come to the weapons they used and the several tactics they used to ambush and attack the enemy. There were many essential weapons such as in the civil war that played a huge real in shaping the way the war would turn The weapons in the civil war were essential in making the war the bloodiest in America history.
Different weapons used in the war are, atomic bombs, aircrafts, tanks, bombs, bazookas and battleships. These weapons were very useful in the war because it helped the allies defeat the axis and get rid of the Holocaust. The aircraft's would fly over and can drop hundreds of bombs. The B-24 liberators had four engines and they could travel three thousand miles, with 10 soldiers, 10 machine guns and many bombs. Another weapon used in the war was grenades, bombs and atomic bombs. These explosives can cause lots of damage to a village. When the americans created the atomic bombs it cost lots of money and years to fully complete it. A third type of weapon used are the tanks, these powerful vehicles were covered in armor and had very powerful guns,
rifles used a new kind of ammunition that is very close to what we use today.
My paper is going to be about WW1 and some of the rifles that were used during that time. There were many rifles that the armies used. There was also some cool technology that happened during WW1 when it comes to its rifles and weapons. I’m also going to talk about the casualties of WWI. So much destruction and devastation happened that sometimes it makes you think whether war is ever worth it. So, by the time you finish reading this you will have learned about some rifles that were used, some cool technology that got introduced and some of the casualties that happened during the war.
is not certain. However what is certain is that it was thought of as a
Innovations of World War II World War II was a horrific event. Millions of people lost their lives. During this difficult time, there were also many technological breakthroughs. These breakthroughs could be used for civilian or military purposes. Many of these incredible devices were invented by either the United States of America or Nazi Germany during the war.
A 19th century technology, these rifles were powerful and very accurate weapons, effective to a long range of over half a mile, but since they required manual reloading after each shot, they were never suitable for combat situations which demanded a rapid rate of fire, and were therefore replaced during the war by newer weapons. The only combat role where bolt-action rifles are the best even today, are sniper rifles, where their long effective range and high accuracy are the only things that count. These are bolt-action rifles which are adapted with magnifying telescopic sights, and often also with additional enhancements such as bipods, cushions, and higher standard production, all in order to maximize the sniper's ability to deliver the few selective shots that can sometimes affect the battlefield more than a hail of less accurate bullets. Semi-Automatic Rifles were the natural development from the bolt-action rifle. By simply adding an automatic reloading mechanism, these guns provided the soldier with a significantly faster rate of fire, not just technically, but also because he could keep his aiming eye on the sights and on the target between shots, making continuous aiming and firing possible.
The guns were famous during world war II. The .45” cailber M1911 was considered the best pistol carried. The .38” cailber was considered more reliable then the .45”. And a gun called the Luger Model 1908 was most senior. The only gun he used was the .45” caliber.
Machine guns had a extreme impact on World War One, being able to shoot up to 600 small caliber rounds per minute,(Vickers Machine Gun). Machine guns in World War One allowed for soldiers to fire hundreds of bullets per minute while still remaining within the trenches. While machine guns were a powerful weapon, the required lots of development before they were perfect. Machine guns in World War One changed how it was fought, offensively and defensively. In World War One many new strategies were developed for the use of machine guns.
There were many unique weapons used in WWII. The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter built by the Germans. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII was the heaviest tank used in WWII. The Russian Katyusha Rocket is a weapon that could be mounted on tanks, trains, and boats. They could have up to 4 dozen rockets. The Germans called it “Stalin’s Organ.” In the end of WWII, the Japanese Air Force built a rocket powered, pilot guided, suicide fighter called the MXY-7 Ohka “Cherry
American army officer Omar Bradley once said,“If we continue to develop our technology without wisdom or prudence, our servant may prove to be our executioner.” The meaning of this quote lies in the destruction and devastation of humanity and geography during war. If we do not stop advancing in ways of killing and causing suffering, we will soon face the consequences of these technologies. Throughout World War I and World War II, there was a ginormous technological boom in which countries were competing to invent new weapons or vehicles used in warfare. Specifically, World War I could be blamed for the start of the creating of new technologies used in warfare even today. These technologies were often invented or created during World War I,
“The Ohio class is a class of nuclear-powered submarines used by the United States Navy.” (Ohio-class submarine, Wikipedia) Ohio-Class Ballistic Missile Submarines were the core of America’s strategic deterrent. Each SSBN stretched 560 feet with a beam of 42 feet and a weight of 18,750 tons when submerged. Powered by a pressurized water reactor (PWR) and a single propeller shaft, the Ohio-class could travel over 25 knots at depths exceeding 800 feet. With its “most survivable and enduring nuclear strike capability”, each submarine was at sea 68% of the time, seventy-seven days at sea followed by thirty-five days of in-port maintenance.
