This weeks assignment covered a specific drum magazine and the Ruger 10/22 rotary magazine. Granted, they both are tried and tested feeding mechanisms, they both serve a particular role and share many similarities. At one point(first video) he mentioned the ergonomic characteristics for the X91 skeletonized drum opposed to the Beta drum. I found this portion somewhat insightful. I’ve personally used a Beta drum and it does bring the benefit of having a high capacity but is also cumbersome. The Beta drum takes away from the fluidity and speed from the shooter. I honestly have nothing against high capacity magazines, I just don’t see the benefits or value in having a drum. Most drums are used in fully automatic rifles for suppressive roles in …show more content…
The fact that it performed with inconsistent ammo, and a boat load of variables that could damper the performance of the rifle, it shows the user it’s a quality built product and will perform regardless of what’s being “fed” through it. In hindsight, I also found the second video had a lot to offer in the terms of general application and information. The second video consisted of the Rotary Magazine of a 10/22(Ruger). It demonstrated how to properly test/troubleshoot the magazine to see if it was functioning and how to remedy it.
The fact that it covered the proper approach for maintaining the feeding source is amazing to see. With all the general guidelines out there, I feel this one is almost always overlooked. If you’re firearm(s) is well kept and properly lubricated, why take a shortcut on doing preventative maintenance on those magazines? After all, it consequences could be as innocent as a simple failure to feed, but on the opposite side of the spectrum, this type of negligence could cost the user there life in a combative scenario. The two videos offered some valuable information, so at this point i’m going to
There was a point in the videos pertaining to discipline, which I found to be very important. The video stated that when learning disabled students get in trouble, they often do not understand why because of their perception of the event or issue. It is important that teachers take the time to get a better understanding of how a student may have perceived a task.
In my opinion, this discussion was probably one of the most thought provoking discussion we have had thus far in this course for several reasons. I have very strong views on gun rights and control prior to the dialogue. Therefore, I spent more time listening to other people opinions and perspective.
The purpose of these stories are all different, but in some ways the same. The two articles are more alike than different, but the video is not like them. The video is more of an experiment you can try out at home or to explain how electricity is fairly simple. The passages are used to explain how electricity works or how it happens. Everything I have read has helped me understand the concept of what electricity is and how it is relevant to the life we live every day.
Pros:High-capacity magazines should be banned because they too often turn murder into mass murder. A Mother Jones investigation found that high-capacity magazines were used in at least 50% of the 62 mass shootings between 1982 and 2012. [7] When high-capacity magazines were used in mass shootings, the death rate rose 63% and the injury rate rose 156%. David H. Chipman, Senior Vice President of Public Safety for Shot-spotter and former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) agent, stated that a high-capacity magazine "turns a killer into a killing machine."Some gang members use high-capacity magazines, such as 30 rounds or even 90 rounds, to compensate for lack of accuracy and maximize
this video has impacted me and what I will take away from this video. Also, what will be
What is the tone of this video? What is the purpose? Who is the audience? Did you like the video, or not? Why?
In response to this article, I think I chose this mostly due to the Pathos argument made by Adam Plantinga. His story is very compelling and pursuasive given his background on the issue. Also Platinga had some truly captivating insights into the field of gun violence, and how gun control can effect it. He stated that yes, many gun control advocates like Pheobe Maltz who think that simply banning guns will get rid of the problem. When the truth is, if someone wants to aquire a gun enough. They will always be able to get one. But he counters that we should still try to make it as inconvenient for mass shooters to get their hands on those weapons as possible. And I found that to be a very relatable and reasonable statement. It really does make
“Guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” This is typically the rhetoric that is used by gun owners, and gun associations, to distinguish the danger of the weapon from the danger of the owner. One significant factor that plays into this discussion is the ownership and use of large-capacity magazines. Those who posses these high-volume magazines now have the ability to shoot large numbers of ammunition before having to stop and reload. Not only is the ownership of large capacity magazines unjustified for our modern society, but it also allows for tragic shootings and continued street crime to be much more severe.
After reading this message, it is hopeful that the audience’s response would be to step back and take a safety training course if one owns a gun. I feel it should be
Having this view and I think seeing it from this perspective really makes people feel the reason why some cops might shoot someone because these kinds of things happens. He shows video of cops getting shot to show "How bad it can really get."
Franken was also able to downplay the usefulness of a firearm by including a series of sarcastic tips for tragedy in a home. For example, “1. Keep the gun loaded… 2. Put the gun in an unlocked drawer... 3. Rest assured.”1 Where Franken’s article comes up short is the use of hypothetical numbers to exaggerate and intensify the deadliness of guns. His sarcasm adds diversity to his piece, but should be used sparingly. Franken’s conclusion causes his argument to lose its effectiveness, after building his case it just seems ridiculous and out of place.
This product will also include a cumulative video. This video will show my growth of my skeet shooting skills throughout this time period. It will also include videos of me completing my skills and competing in the skeet shooting competitions. Throughout this time period I will work and learn a lot about my topic through my mentor.
The original video Murphy’s Law Firm created was seen as a little confusing and choppy by our original focus group, there for we added info and improved the transitions. The firm resolved to add more information on Sen. Murphys fifteen hour filibuster in the Senate in support of stricter gun control law, change the transition in a second video not end on such a hard note, and show more of what he can bring to the table on this issue. Text was changed to further integrate our slogan of “we all stand together”, as requested by the second focus group, to show he stands with the rest of American and he is devotion to the country. The attack ad was by far the favorite for both focus groups.
The video is to show us how we make bad decisions. In the video it shows how a scenario can change and you see how bad a decision was. For example, in the video when Mr. Gilbert talked about losing a movie ticket verses losing $20.00 when going to the movies. If a person does not want to replace the ticket because they do not want to spend more money it is the same as losing money and still spending more money once you get to the
In this short paper I will go over my thoughts on this week’s assigned course reading. This week we were instructed to read Chapter Four of the FTA 215 course text. This chapter covered Tools, Maintenance, and Repair of the AR-15 platform rifle.
