I’ve been living my whole life with internet and mobile cell phone. I can’t imagine how she got her work done without them! I guess that means she used the library a lot because she told me that she worked in a lot of study groups. “I interacted with a lot of people face to face and this helped me to make a lot of friends.” I am also amazed that she got a $4,000 scholarship after graduating from high school to help her pay for college. Being from a poor family, no one could help her pay for school, but this did not stop her from achieving her goals. “The biggest struggle was making sure I had enough money to pay for school every semester.” Her good grades helped her to earn a lot scholarships and she qualified for financial aid help. Born in Vietnam she moved to California when she was three. She lives in a family of four including her parents and older brother. She’s moved houses several times, in which three were rent. When she moved in 2014, she had to switch schools for the first time. She attended Bryant Elementary where she discovered her love of reading and writing and that really opened her mind to new ideas. She also passed the gate so she had to move to Patton Elementary, where she got a better education. She says that nothing too exciting or serious happened in her life because her parents have always tried to protect her from danger. However, she loves traveling and recently she went to Arizona.
