Significance of the study
Most of the teenagers are suffering from pimples, acnes and bumpy skin.
To hasten the healing of wounds and other skin infections
Avocado fruit ( Persea Gratissima ) and guava plant ( Psidium guajava Linn ) is
abundant everywhere.
Scope and Limitations
This study discusses about the effectivity of avocado and and guava plant extract as a herbal soap. Furthermore, it also discusses about how we conducted the research at Juan G Macaraeg National High school. It focus on the efficacy of from avocado fruit ( Persea Gratissima ) and guava plant ( Psidium guajava Linn ) soap.
This study will be focused in the use of guava leaves and the avocado fruit without it’s peel and seed only and is concerned in producing soap that is applicable for acne and pimples.

To tested the effects of this plant, a research study was conducted through an online survey among college students. A group of undergrad college student was randomly selected through email from a large university in southwestern Unites States to participate. The study procedure was an online survey, with based questionnaire on college student’s achievement, lifestyle, alcohol, and other drugs behavior if a user of drugs. The data was base on the usage of drugs within the two semesters of fall 2006 and spring 2007. To get respondents to participate, rewards were offered for anyone who

Natural products used to treat many diseases for a long time. Natural products derived from many sources such as fungus like Piptoporus betulinus, which is used as an antiseptic and disinfectant and plants like Alhagi maurorum, which is used to treat anorexia, constipation, dermatosis, epistaxis, fever, leprosy, and obesity. (1) In this research, we will focus on one natural product derived from a plant called Serenoa repens. Serenoa repens also called Saw palmetto, is a plant grows up to 1m in width and 3m in height. Each part of it has different uses, for example, its leaves are used to make thatching, baskets, fans, brushes, brooms, rope, fire kindling, fish traps and dolls and its berries are used as food and as medicine. Avocado is originated in southern Mexico before coming to California in 19th century. In the past Avocado was introduced by Judge RB, Ord of Santa Barbara when he brought a tree from Mexico. Moreover, “Avocados were unfamiliar to most Americans until the mid-1900s, when growers of the subtropical fruit successfully convinced many Americans to try it”. More and more farmers as well as growers in California in 1900s saw the potential of Avocado for commercial activities and since then, many Avocados have been hunted for its varieties.
Locating its “roots” in components of Brazil, in the Amazon jungle, the acai berry has offered the Brazilians using the increase they want carry out a healthy body type and to improve create their muscles and body tone for a great desiring body type. This fresh fruit has been an open magic formula in doing so element of the universe for centuries, with its great well-being bettering capacities, and is now becoming shared to the relaxation of the world just recently.
Licorice root is used worldwide as a natural sweetener, as well as a flavoring agent. This experiment enabled the class to test whether if antiseptics are effective in reducing the number if bacteria that are on your fingers. In this experiment, some people generated a lab where they soaked, washed, or scrubbed their thumb. As seen in Figure 2, people who did not wash their thumbs in the beginning of the experiment had a high number of bacterial colonies grown on the agar plate. In the after column, this showed that there was a little to none number of bacterial colonies that after the thumb was soaked with the antiseptic. In the figure, again the people who did not wash their thumb had a high number of bacterial colonies grown on the plate. As seen in Figure 2, people who washed and scrubbed their thumbs with the antiseptics had little to none bacterial colonies grown on the agar plate. In Figure 3, my partner and I designed an experiment to evaluate the effectiveness of antiseptics. We did not wash the thumb before placing in the plate and we saw 23 bacterial colonies grown on the plate. Then we soaked the thumb with 70% Ethanol and saw that there were no bacterial colonies, proving that antiseptics played a major role inhibiting growth of bacteria or killing
This study will include several quasi- randomized and randomized studies. The studies that consists random participants, large sample size and test measures that assesses the infection rates will be shortlisted for this study to make it reliable. Trevillion (2008) in his study claimed that the varying degrees of wound cases that came in the emergency department were cleaned better using tap water than normal saline or other cleaning solutions. He concluded that tap water effectively reduces the infection rates, is cheaper, and can be easily used by the patients to clean their wounds at home. Moscati et al. (2007), in their study chose random population with wound in the emergency rooms and divided the population in two groups of which few were subjected to cleansing by sterile saline (200ml) with splash shield and the others by irrigating their wounds under normal tap water for 2 min. After 5- 14 days, they found a difference of 0.7% of infection rates in both groups, which was not significant concluding that tap water and sterile saline were both safe for treating wound. Bee et al. (2009) evaluated the effectiveness of the cleansing solutions by reviewing 7 out of 9 selected articles including both randomized and quasi-randomized experimental studies based on their reliability. They found no significant difference in the infection rates when used either of the solutions (tap water vs. sterile saline) for treating wounds. However, after assessing 4 randomized study, they concluded that saline enables effective wound healing while the tap water was effective for irrigation and debridement if used appropriately. Salami et al (2006) conducted wound healing experiments on rats with 2x2 cm full thickness wound on their dorso-ventral flanks, which were treated with chlorhexidine, tap water or saline. They
The species is a source of popular sweet peppers and hot chilis with numerous varieties cultivated all around the world. Hot peppers are used in medicine in Africa and other countries. The history of the avocado dates back as far as 10,000 years ago. Archaeological evidences show that these seeds appeared in caves in regions of Mexico through Guatemala. “Avocado is native to the New World, originating in southern Mexico, Central America and the West Indies. The fruit has long been used as a food by Native Americans in these regions and was known by the Aztecs as ‘ahuacatl’” (Arpaia 1). Avocados have been a staple to Mesoamerican regions that thrives in exclusively in subtropical and tropical climates. During its earliest known origins, a mix of hunter and gatherer and early agricultural lifestyles still would have been thriving in the New World. With the growth of cities in many regions, started the downfall of hunter and
Trees not only have the capability of bringing majestic beauty to a landscape, they also have the ability to sustain the livelihood of individuals from the small seeds they provide. Traditionally trees have been felled to make timber, but the Shea tree through the development of seeds has the potential to develop into a major export item. Shea Butter comes from the seeds of the Shea tree which can be used in the manufacture of food items, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. The moisturizing and healing properties of Shea butter have been discovered by western cosmetic industries in recent years, but Shea butter has been in use in African society for centuries. The Shea butter is gathered by women and young children and involves tedious labor
Neutrogena uses a slow, more expensive manufacturing process to mold its fragile soap. In choosing this position, Neutrogena said no to the deodorants and skin softeners that many customers desire in their soap. It gave up the large-volume potential of selling through supermarkets and using price promotions. It sacrificed manufacturing efficiencies to achieve the soap’s desired attributes. (trade-offs that protected the company from imitators)
In week one we performed a qualitative solubility test of our fats and oils, synthesized our soaps and detergents, and performed a solubility test and lathering test for the soaps and detergents. We wanted to test the solubility of our starting materials of the soap making process to understand the properties of the materials. In our initial solubility test of the starting materials, we found that most of the materials were insoluble. As you can see in Table 2.0, olive oil and vegetable oil were only soluble in toluene and the shortening and lard were only partially soluble in acetone. In order to understand the solubility of the soaps and detergents, after our synthesis and filtration, we performed a qualitative solubility test with each of
